Kelly Lee at Rucci's is super sweet and gentle with the dogs she grooms. Our Bella is high anxiety and only Kelly really gets that. She is so talented, too! Our stinky little princess gets a full treatment, with wash + grooming (short fur during foxtail season) + nail trim for a super reasonable price. All this plus a different cute bow every time. She looks and smells wonderful when done. We text Kelly to make appts and she texts us when Bella is done. She takes credit cards. I called three times to make an appointment to take my dog in to get his nails clipped. I got voicemail each time, so I decided to put the dog in the car and just stop by. When I got there, I stuck my head in the door and asked if the woman had time to do my bulldog's nails or whether I should make an appointment. She told me she only grooms small dogs. That would have been nice to know ahead of time, or at least it should be made part of the recording when you call to get voicemail. So if you have anything other than a tiny dog, this isn't the place for you. read more

I used to always go to Kelly for my little dog, and I was always very pleased with her work. However, my pup would always come back traumatized, and a long walk was always needed to calm him down after a session or else he'd start having stomach issues from stressing out so much. I thought it was just my dog. However, we moved because her work started to become a little more choppy, and at our new groomers, the pup doesn't want to leave when he's finished! Bad customer service. I was recommended by a friend and Kelly just ignored it. After many tentative to talk to her, leaving messages, she told me to call the next day because she was busy. Called next day, left 2 messages and she never returned. Apparently she does not need new clients as she never bother to call me back. So rude and unprofessional! I've gone to Kelly for around 8 years. She is the BEST. She really cares about your animals. This isn't a place where you drop off your dog and pick it up in :30. She usually has my miniature schnauzer for 4 hours. My dog had been to a number of recommended groomers and was always a bit nervous, particularly after one groomer nicked his ear. Once we found Kelly, he goes to no one else. He is happy to see her and she really spends some time with your dog. Also, you'll see that she always has the most beautiful dogs there. Her prices are also very reasonable. Though my dog is over 13, people constantly stop me and think that he's a young dog and ask me where he was groomed. We couldn't be happier with Rucci's. Unlike other quality dog groomers in the area, we can get an appointment with Kelly, the one and only groomer, within a reasonable period of time. We've taken all three of our small (7 to 13 pound dogs) there. Our dog Charlie was very neurotic and had a hard time being groomed, but he always emerged from Kelly's skilled hands looking exquisite and happy. Kelly is simply the best. I've been taking our Lhasa Apsos, Milo, since he was 1 year old. It's been 7 years since our first visit and I've been bringing him in ever since, every few months. I've moved to Petaluma, but still make the trek to San Rafael/Terra Linda because she is so great with him. Milo gets excited when he sees Kelly and knows that he will be treated well. When I pick him up, he is ALWAYS in such a good mood around her, jumping and running around. His hair always looks great, smells great, and his paws are always so well groomed. My daughter really likes and trusts Kelly too. She is soft spoken with him and loves Milo up. She remembers your pets and is always very accommodating. I have tried 3 other groomers in my new local area when I cannot find the time to make it down to SR. Each time, I have been so let down at my experience. I wont do it anymore. Rucci's is it for us. I am not sure why there are a couple of 'less than stellar' reviews here. Trust me, Kelly nails it every time. I'll recommend Rucci's to anyone and everyone. Kelly is the best. We have a 7 year old poodle mix with high anxiety and she's never liked going to the groomers. However, she loves Kelly and is always happy to see her. Our pup also has sensitive skin and eye issues and she always comes back to us perfectly cut and trimmed with no problems.
