It's a magically fun experience. The Galleria is always incredibly decorated for the holidays. I still get to Houston 1-2 times a year and always enjoy visiting The Galleria. The Galleria itself has not only the ice rink but office space, two hotels, lots of places to eat, and shopping. The retail offerings range from shops like H&M, Macy's, and Nordstrom to high-end luxury shops like Gucci & Chanel. The convention center was strategically right across the street from our hotel. My friends and I decided to attend a women's body building conference at George R. Brown convention center. We have all toyed with the idea of participating in a bodybuilding contest. Then you think about the strict clean eating, intense workout routines and the number of supplements you dump into body, then you press the pause button. We found our way into the arena where the women's bodybuilding contest was taking place. The room was filled with anticipation, admiration, and respect. When the athletes stepped on stage, the entire space seemed to zero in on them...their massively lean bodies, muscle definition and their practiced poses. While we watched with admiration, none of us committed to pull the trigger on body building. The George R. Brown Convention Center provided the perfect backdrop to explore the possibility of bodybuilding. In addition, we perused the vendors present associated with fitness. Bathrooms were kept clean but they could use an update with some barriers and some spacing. There were lots of water filling stations and the staff kept up with refilling things like coffee and drinks they were providing. Lunch provided in the convention hall was done well. It was "lunch" fare for sure with sandwiches and salads and stuff like that, but they kept everything organized in feeding a bunch of attendees. I ate at both Pappadeux's and Saltgrass which are connected to the Convention Center and both were excellent choices.

This event is geared towards the artists and creatives at heart. The building sets the tone before you even go inside with all the colorful art designs all over. I say most but there were so many I'm sure there was a lot more to see. The rooftop is a beautiful place to take photos and get a pretty nice view of art district.
