Woof! We have two fussy dachshunds, which over the past 8 years have been to several groomers in the area. We tried Ruff Cutz about two years ago when the local Petco couldn't see out little guys after they rolled in something outside. Ever since, it's been our favorite place; the staff is friendly, responsive and obviously loves our dogs! Rudest, most unprofessional business I ever dealt with. Owner has no idea how to deal with customers and doesn't even seem to like dogs. My dog was there for over 7 hours. Owner got angry when I showed up before she called me - what is she hiding? I have to ask for them to give him water and he still comes home a drinks his entire bowl. Heather is without a doubt the best groomer I've taken my dogs too. I started out bringing them to her Milford shop, but when she moved we happily followed. Truly you want the best forget the rest. Take this cautionary tale to heart I had taken my two dogs ( a Bichon and Brussels griffin) to a big box store and they actually cut my dogs paw and crated the other due to aggression... This was a ten pound dog who was clearly afraid. To crate a dog for three hours makes no sense. I brought her to Heather three days later she bound into the shop wagging her tail. Her prices are very fair.The shop is meticulously clean and bright and the work she and her personable assistant do is beyond compare. Bottom line Charlie & Baby Doll love them. read more

To all of my Fairfield friends who have dogs DO NOT use Ruffcutz to groom your dog. My dog was "groomed" and after a few days I noticed his tail was all matted. The owner took absolutely no responsibility and informed me that it was "impossible" that it was their fault and was rude in the process. read more

They are reasonably priced, always accommodating to my working schedule, ask how I want him groomed, and always do an excellent job. Pet Grooming Services and Professionalism is subpar in comparison to other local Groomers..... Pricing is comparable to most other Groomers but I would not recommend unless you want your pet to receive a " RUFF CUT " and would be willing to leave your pet suffering in a kennel for 4-6 hours..... I've used this place 2 times to get a simple nail trim for my dog... and every time they are rude and act as if they are doing me a favor to allow me to do business with them. Most recently I called to make an appointment and the employee was extremely haughty and said "oh we can't fit in a nail trim for about 2 to 3 weeks because we can't have our groomers stop to do one" (bear in mind a nail trim takes about 90 seconds to do). I will NEVER again use them. I will go back to Head To Tail on Sanford (a little further drive but same price) where they are always courteous and happy to do a walk in nail trim. read more

Great place to go if you want to be abused by rude personnel. I used this firm twice, and kept an eye on what the vet said I should look for in a competent job. Important grooming missed, counter personnel was absolutely obnoxious. I gave them a pass the first time, but twice is shame on me, their attitude is shame on them.
