I came in looking for a new rug for my living room. I loved the experience that rug & home give you. They definitely know what they are doing and know how to help you make sure you pick out the best rug. There are a lot of great things to say and the only bad thing I have to say that is the style of rugs they have are kind of outdated. It might just be the new style that's coming out but nothing was modern they were all back in the day, almost grandmawy. Other than that the customer service was excellent they pull the rugs down from the display and lay it out on the floor for you to see what it looks like, and they will do however many you like. The sales reps also don't watch over you the whole time like most of them so that made the experience ever better. I definitely recommend anyone looking for a new rug to go here you wont be disappointed. read more

We had a good experience at Rug and Home last weekend. We had been looking for a larger sized area rug for our living room and didn't want to spend a small fortune on it due to having 2 mall kiddos and 2 large dogs. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much based on other reviews, but was pleasantly surprised with our experience. We were immediately greeted when we walked in the door by a friendly young lady who asked what brought us in to direct us to the right location. We were introduced to Kristen, who then asked some further questions about what we were looking for to guide us even better in our search. We were handed a bag of clips to mark the rugs we were interested in and then left to ourselves to look around, with occasional check ins to make sure we were fine and to see if there was anything else we needed. After narrowing our search the rugs we selected were pulled off their hanger and brought to a wooden floor and laid out for viewing, I really like that they had different colored floor samples in that area so you could put one close to what you have at home near it to get a good idea of what it will really look like. At this point we were pretty quick to make our decision and were offered the option of a rolled or folded rug, which I appreciated b/c the folded options allowed it to fit better in the car! The rug was brought to the front and we continued to walk around considering it was our first time in the store. When it came time to check out the process was easy and upon seeing there was a line more people were called in to expedite wait times. There are signs everywhere talking about their 7 day return policy and it seems like if you get it home and don't like it you have that amount of time to return, this will not be an issue for us as we are in love with our new rug! We are already planning a trip back for more rugs to update the look of the house without having to break the bank! read more

Large selection of rugs, some were reasonable a lot were pricey! A lot of the furniture was pricey as well. I do not like to be followed as I shop and we were the entire time which is a turn off. I recently purchased an 11'x14' area rug. Once the item was received it was not as pictured on the web site. For a $1600.00 purchase I was very disappointed in the quality of the print and manufacturing. It looked like a block print as opposed to a woven print. Flimsy edges. Upon proceeding with a return I discovered the return shipping would be $280.00. Buyers beware of return costs if you're not happy with an item. read more

Stay away or simply buy a rug from the corner parking lot out of the van. People were nice but the "discounts" and "regular price" is a total scam. Never ever have they sold a rug at the "regular" price and they try to convince you the "discount" is a great bargain. I read other reviews and they are correct. Read the fine print. We didn't buy anything as it was obvious to us that the quality and pricing was not great. The contract is completely one sided, for the store. You get what you pay for and remember that. Quality rugs are expensive. Want a cheap rug , no return....this is your place. Want to spend your money wisely, go someplace else. read more

Matt Jackson helped me and I liked that he gave me some clips to mark the rugs I liked and then he left me alone for a little bit. He provided some good input when I was trying to decide between 2 rugs. I paid $50 extra to have it delivered and installed and it looks great! This is a total Buyer Beware place. Pros: Huge selection of rugs, etc with good prices if you are looking for a cheaper area rug. Cons: Basically assume anything you purchase from this place is not returnable. Read the fine print on everything; ask extremely detailed questions as to returns, i.e. expect that what you are walking out with is what you will be keeping...period. If you are looking for a large selection of cheaply priced area rugs this is a "decent" place to look. However, price and selection are quickly overcome by the fact you feel you are dealing with shady business practices, or if you don't feel that way you should. This isn't a regular furniture or rug store. This is barely a step from buying a rug from out of a guys van on the side road or the hardware store 'tent sale' parking lot. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!!! I purchased a custom ottoman from this location. I was told at the time of purchase, March 23rd it would take 6-8 weeks. When I was told on the week 8 it was delayed for another 4, I asked for an additional discount since my credit card had been charged. After no return phone calls from their customer service rep, I called and was told they are waiting for the manufacturer, Century to honor an additional discount. I then asked to speak with a manager and she told me they do not have a store manager nor a general manager. I asked her to verify when it was coming in and she said she did not know, but she was doing the "best" she could. I did not know that I was going to be dealing with a place that had no management and no one in charge to resolve an issue??? You would think with 3 locations and all the TV ads, they would take better care of their customers. It has been 10 weeks now. I would have NEVER ordered this piece of furniture here, I would have gone to a reputable furniture store. I really don't know if I am even going to get it!!!! Just another exhausting place that I will have to follow up with everyday until I either, get my ottoman or my money back. So, think twice before you order anything from here. read more

We had a good experience shopping for a reasonably priced rug here. Matt Jackson helped us narrow down what we were looking for, then showed us all the particular racks to look through and gave us a bag of clips to remember where our choices were. When we had made our final two selections, he got them down and layed them out on wood flooring so we could get a real feel for how it would look in our home. We wouldn't be able to pick it up for a month if we bought it now, but Matt said they could store purchased rugs for free for several months if we needed and the 7 day return policy would only go in effect once we walked out the door with the rug! He also said we could get a refund anytime before we picked it up if we changed our minds! We were sold. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I agree with the last post. I purchased around 4K of custom made dining furniture with the premise that it would be here 6-8 weeks. At 8 weeks I heard nothing. I had to call to see what the hold up was. I was then told it would be another 4-6 weeks. I waited 4 more weeks and now am being told another 4-6 weeks. According to their return policy, custom made furniture is not returnable and they say in their fine print that it can take a MINIMUM 8-12 weeks depending on the manufacturer. So basically they do not take any responsibility on "delays". I tried to get in touch with the the manufacturer only to find that their webpage has a contact by email only (huge red flag). I plan to go in person again today to speak with anyone who can provide some answers. We had no clue that walking into this well known area business that we would be working with swindlers-sales people yes-but not this kind of terrible customer service. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by how easy the staff made our search and how helpful yet not pushy they were. I bought a beautiful Hamadan rug from the Pineville location, with excellent assistance from two different sales people, but was still shopping for a second rug. I went to the Kannapolis store today to see if they had anything different. I found a rug I wanted to buy, and asked if I could get the same discount that I was offered on my purchase at the Pineville location. The salesman got the manager, and the manager called the Pineville store and checked into my "story", saying that "sometimes customers are lying, and just use a designer's name"!!! After being humiliated and called a liar the first time, I had to stand at the front desk while the cashier called the Pineville store a second time, and THEN called the designer! I am an honest person, and have NEVER been so humiliated once, let alone TWICE, by store personnel. I will NEVER give them a penny of my money, and I will tell anyone who is rug shopping to avoid going to the Kannapolis location. In addition, the store was incredibly dirty, sketchy, and unattractive compared to the beautiful, clean Pineville store. read more

After shopping online and in person for weeks in search of rugs for my new home, I finally visited the Kannapolis Rug and Home. I was amazed by their selection and pricing. I was looking for a very specific rug and the rep went over and above looking through their inventory and then searched on the website for me. We found 2 beautiful rugs and they were delivered to my home just a few days later. The delivery service moved all of my furniture to lay the rug and then carefully moved it back. Being in the construction/design industry, Rug and Home is a store that I recommend all my clients visit! read more

Marge at the Kannapolis location is absolutely amazing! She understood my "vision" immediately and then used her incredible eye to find exactly what I was looking for! Before ultimately making my purchase, I shopped at a different store and was immediately underwhelmed by their selection and customer service. I knew then that I needed to go back to Rug & Home for my purchase. I returned yesterday and Marge greeted me like an old friend! Matthew was very helpful. I had found a rug and took a picture of it and sent it to him he was able to locate and pull for me and have ready when I got there. He also assisted in locating the matching 3x5. Got it home and changed my mind on colors and he assisted me again in ordering a different rug. Very helpful, efficient, and great customer service. Stop looking for rugs online. If this store doesn't have the rug that you want, it doesn't exist. One warning though...it can be overwhelming to look through all the rugs there are so many. If you know the size rug that you need, be sure to ask one of the associates which racks contain that size rug. They even provide colored clips so you can "tag" the ones you like. Once you have it narrowed down, they will pull the rug for you and allow you to see it laid out (I highly recommend this...the rugs DO look different on the floor). I have wasted hours online looking for rugs and while it is a bit of a drive from Charlotte to Kannapolis...it is worth it every time! read more

Not many businesses refuse to work w you when you return a product like new with which you are dissatisfied w the quality. This was a first. There was no compromise. Just a flat out refusal to acknowledge our dissatisfaction with sub standard quality of rug. First line of their terms says "we want you to be 100% satisfied". Unfortunately, not true which is highly unusual for any business practice that I have experienced.....until now. Therefore, cannot ever recommend Rug and Home. There are too many other good businesses who honor the policies they put forth. read more

As soon as we walked into the store we were greeted by Judy Bentley, who patiently walked us through the entire store, helping us find the perfect rug for our home. Had she not been there to help, I would have been overwhelmed by the abundant selections and would have probably left without making a purchase. She was not pushy, she listened to what the needs were for our family, our tastes and preferences, and helped us narrow down our selections. She was patient while I changed my mind several times and had all of our choices laid out on the floor so that we could really see what the rugs would look like. We went in to shop approximately 35 minutes before store closing on a Saturday. We approached a young lady for assistance, which we needed in the rug area. She stopped to help us and never left until we made a purchase and left the store. We stayed past closing, but the employees/manager never rushed us or made us feel like we had to hurry. We also asked for a discount, which we received. They also called us at home to tell us a pricing we requested for a item they had on the floor. They didn't have all that we needed, but they have some beautiful pieces and patience is one of the golden keys they had that night. (I can run a salesperson crazy, LOL) We will return!! read more

Staff is nice, however, we purchased 2 rugs along with the warranty. We were told the warranty would clean our rugs or replace them if they couldn't be cleaned. These were area rugs for our kitchen and living room. Since we have a senior dog and 2 small children we knew they would need to be cleaned. The staff knew where the rugs were going and said nothing about the fact that the rugs were were buying could NOT in fact be cleaned. It was no big deal when they told us they couldn't clean them because the warranty covers replacement. Well it's been MONTHS of trying to get our rugs replaced. Both the warranty company and the store are telling us they will replace the rugs but yet we have not yet gotten new rugs, or a store credit, or a refund of our warranty. The store blames the warranty company the warranty company blames the store and round and round we go. It's absolutely ridiculous that this is still unresolved. I won't shop here again specifically because I feel scammed out of my money and I won't recommended anyone else shop here. Surely a regional supervisor can resolve this issue but instead we just get told we need to call the warranty company for the 100th time or we need to call the store for the 100th time. read more

What a shopping nightmare. I ordered a rug, and was told three different time frames for arrival. I went to pick it up and it was clearly grey- the smaller version I ordered from was blue. I understand the difference in dye lots, so I told them no thank you. They INSISTED it was the lighting and I take it home to try. I brought it home, and again, clealy grey. I brought it back to return and they would not refund me because I purchased it with a card that I had to replace due to loss. I explained it was the same account, and they said they could not use it because the numbers were different. I actually called the credit card company, and put them on the phone with the staff. She told them it was fine, happens all of the time, and the card would go through. Rug and Home guy insisted they could not refund me because he used to work at Lowes and they were not allowed to do that there (HUH?). 45 minutes of incredible frustration and back and forth with the credit card company who said they have never heard of such a thing, and they could absolutely run the card, and they finally said they could mail me a check. I had to call THREE times to follow up on my check!! It was supposed to take 3-4 weeks, and after three calls, it took almost two months. What a huge hassle. And I didn't even want to take the rug to begin with. I will never shop there again. read more

We left Gaffney SC location, with a great experience. When we walked in, there was 5 young girls (all on their cell phones). No one asked us if they could help. We walked the entire store looking for a rug and no one assisted us. At one time, a man walked by and asked what we were looking for. After, we told him, he pointed in the direction we needed to go and walked off. After spending 45 mins in the store, we left. The same girls were at the front, still texting.
