This place has a huge selection, but the quality is not that great and the prices are just crazy. Latif kept saying he was going to give me a good deal, so my designer and I spent a ton of time picking out rugs for my house. In the end he tried to charge me some crazy prices and he wouldn't give me a discount...for what were pretty standard Indian rugs. The next day I went to another rug store and bought better quality rugs, and it was more the 30% cheaper! Latif at Rug Mart has claimed that I was being unreasonable with him. Then why did I have a wonderful experience at London Grey Rugs and find better quality rugs for a much lower price? Don't try to take advantage of people and then get mad when they publicly out you. Look at your reviews and then look at the reviews for London Grey. You are clearly the problem! You knew I had money because I came in with a well known designer. We committed a bunch of time to finding rugs with you, which means I spent a lot of money on design hours to find these rugs. For these reasons, you assumed I would simply pay your ridiculous prices. Unfortunately for you, I know a thing or two about rugs and I also know when someone is trying to take advantage of me. I gave you plenty of chances to show me decent prices, but you kept refusing. Amazing store. I have lived in most major cities in US, but I think Rug Mart is by far the best rug store I have been , looked like Disney land of rugs. You need to do a little homework of what type or size you are looking for before you come in, that helps. Be warned about purchasing rugs here. I bought 2 rugs and spent $8K at Rug Mart. The owner Latiff told me that they were silk rugs. He's very nice but don't trust him. They were made of viscose which is faux silk and known to be impossible to clean. I had a cleaning company clean them and they gave me a warning for Viscose rugs and that there's no guarnatee that the stains will come out. In fact, they told me that I'd be wasting my money to get them cleaned. I don't trust him. I'm super disappointed because he didn't educate me on the fact that these rugs were not silk but a fake silk that are impossible to clean. I went back to tell him and see if I could get some help on two new rugs and get a good price and he said sorry. He isn't in it for maintaining long term customers. Buyer beware. Beautiful rugs, and lots of them. Prices are VERY negotiable. Don't pay more than around 2400 (give or take 100) for a 10x14 rug, even if it's marked 15,000. I think he may have some 10x14s that cost more, but you can find one for less than 2500. We always deal with Latif, and he includes the rug pad in the overall price. read more

First let me say that shopping for a rug is a grueling, somewhat uncomfortable task to begin with... and there are a lot of rugs stores out there. Without going any more into that... I heard about Rug Mart from an acquaintance when I asked her where she purchased a beautiful rug in her home. So we decided to check them out when we were shopping for a new rug for our living room. Rug Mart Houston has an incredible selection of rugs, on site, ready for you to see and available immediately for purchase. Considering we were searching for an oversized rug (12x15), being able to see the rug - full size - and not in a very small sample size, on-site availability was very important to us. Latif, the owner, listened to us describe what we were interested in and even asked to see photos of our room (which we happened to have), as well as paid close attention to the rugs we liked as we were looking through the vast selection, and he helped us quickly narrow it down to a couple of favorites. Latif was very polite, professional, and followed up with us in an appropriate time frame (he was not pushy at all). He has a HUGE selection of every type of style of rug one could be looking for and in many price ranges. Bottom line, we would buy from Latif again. We had to buy several rugs and a complicated stair runner for our new house. We really did not know what we wanted at all. Latif was incredibly helpful - he looked at pictures of our house, listened to us explain what we wanted and was able to recommend the perfect rugs both from an aesthetics but also durability perspective ! The rugs look amazing - all but one of them are now in place and were installed beautifully. The stair runner is stunning. I will definitely work with Latif on any rugs we purchase in the future and would highly recommend Rug Mart and Latif. Don't let the name "Rug Mart" mislead you. This is an impressive showroom! A very large selection and beautiful display. Latif was very helpful in narrowing down some choices for us (.... we had shown him some pictures of the room we were shopping for). After selecting 4 rugs (Oushaks) they brought them over to our house to see how they would look in our interior. Latif's employees were very pleasant, helpful and patient. We were looking for a 12x15 Oriental rug. Rug Mart of Houston came up in our online search. The other Five Star Rankings and reviews here are totally accurate. Latif listened to our desires and had several great suggestions. I was prepared to spend hours, if not days, searching stores for our rug. I'm so happy we came to Rug Mart early in our search. In no more than 20 minutes we had located our perfect rug! Save yourself a lot of agony, and probably a lot of money, by starting your rug shopping here. I would recommend Rug Mart to anyone who is looking for a quality rug at a good value. I have been looking many places for a rug in a very specific color and hue (ivory and sky blue, vintage), and was either unsuccessful or it was too expensive. I went to Rug Mart and immediately saw the sign outside the door "For appointments call..." and was afraid I would not be welcomed unannounced. Not so! Latif and his staff greeted me and took the time to show me many beautiful rugs. I went back two weeks later with a friend (again without an appointment). Latif remembered me, remembered the rugs I liked and we went thru the rug "flipping" process again. I selected two to take home, and it was a good thing I did! The rug I thought I liked the most in the store was not the best color in my home, but the second one I brought home was perfect! Latif offered me a very generous discount on the rug, which made the investment decision easier. He was great to work with, and very accomodating. read more

We had a wonderful experience with Rug Mart! I was recommended to their showroom by a designer and would have never guessed from their location off the freeway and the façade of the building that they would have so many choices and how good the quality and price would be. The showroom went on and on with every imaginable size and style. We needed 4 rugs and Latif went above and beyond to help us select the right rugs for every room. They are very knowledgeable and from pictures of our home helped us find the right style and size. We ended up with 2 oushaks and 2 natural fiber rugs, different than what we pictured, but I couldn't imagine a better rug for each room- we've been complimented on how cohesive our rugs look in our open floorplan and with our furniture. Latif also worked us a wonderful deal on the set of rugs and made what would have been 2 rugs out of our price range work. The name is a bit misleading. We stopped in on a hunch, and, man, were we surprised! They have a fantastic selection, so much so we felt inundated with all the choices. However, Latif made the selection process really easy. We did, however, have a problem with our rug delivery. The rug was damaged during shipping, but we didn't realize it until a couple of days after when we finally got it in the house and started to unroll it. (Long story, but we had some logistical issues that prevented us from inspecting the rug when the delivery person dropped it off.) We notified Latif, explained the situation, and he immediately started the process toward a satisfactory resolution. The shipping company wouldn't accept the damage claim, so Latif had to pay for a new rug and for the delivery to our location 100 miles away. The new rug arrived today and is everything we hoped it would be. We are very satisfied customers and will return to Rug Mart for our next rug purchase. read more
