This is a great local gem! We just moved to the area a couple months ago so I knew I had to look for a new box. I tried out three but Rugged CrossFit 702 simply stood out. I immediately felt like home and Pedro was the first coach I met. He was super welcoming and treated me like a member already even though I was still figuring out if I was going to join. The other members were also welcoming and super friendly. When it was time to decide to sign up, there was no pressure and I ended up prepaying for six months knowing this was going to be the box for me! Now that I have been here for over a month, I am happy that I made the decision to stay. I love this Gym!!! I can not say enough about how much I love this Gym and the people there. I was a little skeptical of CrossFit at first because I have always done my own workouts at a traditional gym. Then I was invited to watch one of their competition events, and wow! It looked so fun and everyone there was so supportive of each other. The excitement and vibe of support and motivation astounded me. After that weekend I went to a few workouts the next week and I was welcomed in by the coaches and community with open arms. The workouts kicked my butt, in a great way. I look forward to my workouts at Rugged every day. The gym vibe is very welcoming to all fitness levels and everyone is so friendly here. The coaches are very good at analyzing your movements and know just how to push you that little bit extra for real gains and personal growth. While the class is a group workout, the coaches spend time with each member so you still get that individualized workout feel. I had been doing crossfit for two years prior to joining Rugged and there were still a lot of movements that I wasn't comfortable doing or never really was able to get the technique down *Cough :: Rope Climbs :: Cough* I came in for class one day fully prepared to modify the morning WOD in place of rope climbs but Scott took the time to teach me proper foot placement and how to move up the rope and by the end of the WOD that day I had successfully completed several rope climbs on my own, after two years of avoiding them! So, i'm pretty new to crossfit. i started 7 months ago, my first gym/box is pretty good ( they are the one who started me in crossfit) then my second was not so good (environment wise) then i came across Rugged here on yelp. let's break it down. 1. coach::: coach scott is my coach.....love it, coaches are so friendly and they actually will push you to your ability. and they always know you can!!!! 2. environment/people:::: they are friendly and welcoming. 3. setting::: i love the setting on this gym, they are sectioned. i love when the rope is always there for me to practice my rope climb then there is this KIDS AREA which is the best part for me. for a mom like me when i need to bring my baby with me to continue my journey on being healthy and crossfit this is a win win for me. went to multiple crossfit place and this one is the only one that is really kid friendly and have that KIDS AREA (they call it the jail) i call it my knight and shinning armor cage, if it wasn't for this place i will be bored at home doing by myself WOD. 4. training/WOD::: i think every crossfit is almost the same on every wod but one thing i love about rugged is they always have a strength and skill training before the wod. it's like almost everyday you can make a PR and learned something new for beginners like me or improve your skills and strength. 5. During the pandemic I watched my physical and mental health decline. Even prior I struggled to find the means and motivation to work out. As soon as the gyms were open again I decided it was enough and time to get myself in top shape again. While I've never been a fan of CrossFit gyms; they're usually too intimidating and I also feel either Inadequate or self conscious, so I never keep going.... HOWEVER!! I saw that Rugged were offering 2 weeks free and in all honestly I was just going to just use it to get myself going again to build the motivation to then use my own gym but that wasn't the case. I became hooked. The atmosphere, the trainers, the Camaraderie in this gym is uniquely welcoming and addicting. Once my free two week trial was done I unfortunately got laid off from work. I could not afford to join the gym :( however I couldn't stop thinking about training there so I did what I could to come up with the money and joined. They allowed me to join for one month rather than getting locked into a contract which I greatly appreciate. There are also different membership tiers for your convenience. There are no ridiculous joining fees gym fees it's just your membership that you paid for. And it is worth every single penny. It's a very valuable investment in myself and I'm confident I'm going to achieve my fitness goals by the end of 2020 This place is more than a happy place for me, it's an investment in myself, my mental health and well being. The trainers are very attentive in making sure that my technique is on point to prevent any injuries. I've been at Rugged for about 7 months now. The experience has been incredible. This is my 3rd CrossFit gym here in Las Vegas and the community here is unlike anywhere else. I couldn't imagine being anywhere else. The owner has helped foster an amazing community where all levels of athletes interact, hang out, and support one another. There's no cliques and no negativity. The programming is great (they use PRVN) and challenging for all levels of athletes. The facility is much larger than average for a CrossFit box. We just moved to this side of town as we used to live near blue diamond mountains edge. I reached out to them for my husband as his garage gym just got downsized with our move unfortunately and needed to check out a new CrossFit gym home while starting his training for the games for 2021. Scott was awesome I believe he's the owner he was so nice and accommodating. Kyle was my coach, and I had never done crossfit before just the word is intimidating! I didn't think I could last a session which is normally and hour, but he modified the work outs for me so I could do my best at my level and made sure I had the right technique to get the best work out. I have been a member with your gym for nearly a year and so the fact that I'm leaving a review expressing my disappointment shouldn't be taken lightly . I had a conflict with one of the members of my class and which she called me deragatory terms and made my time there miserable and uncomfortable . I express my displeasure with her via fb message she didn't respond therefore making me feel that my grievances should not be taken seriously . I tried to communicate with the owner and express my displeasure directly with him but the response was met with deaf ears . So therefore I had no choice but to move to a different box therefore it's causing me to spend more money . This is something I wanted to do as my last resort. So I want to express how the owner didn't take me as a member or my needs seriously, I would advice people not to register here as a member because I feel that the owner should have taken my concerns more seriously. So I was in the middle of finding a new gym and was looking at the option of going to a cross fit gym. I wanted a place that felt like I was apart of the community and that gave me a great work out. I was previously training at another circuit style gym 5 times a week and say I'm in pretty good shape, however this place allows you too push yourself and even I was far sorer than usual. (Don't worry you can go easy and not be sore as well, I just like to go hard). The brothers at this gym (owners) are extremely friendly and welcoming with a world of knowledge. There was one instructor I didn't find that welcoming however he was still very knowledgeable about cross fit and did give me a great workout. The place is very large, has an area for your kids, plenty of classes and has a great community of welcoming members. The first two weeks are free so why not just come and try it out, I however needed a place closer to work so had to choose another however if I ever decided to go cross fit after all the gyms I trailed this would be the place I would go too. The equipment and facility itself are great and have everything you need but what makes this gym awesome are the coaches/owners. I love this gym! I have been a member since opening day and have loved every minute of it. I have always just gone to gyms like LVAC and others.
