I've dined here a handful of times, and it never disappoints. They're consistent with their food. I love their seafood linguine that's a significant portion. The prices are reasonable and always in large quantities. The service is always good, but if you have somewhere to be, I wouldn't dine in during busy dinner hours. They make their food fresh, so it does take longer than other restaurants. The food always comes out piping hot, though. They have a bar area in the back, and two dining areas. One in the front and one in the middle. The dining areas always get filled up during dinner hours. I would recommend this place if people want to experience delicious Italian dishes. read more

A solid 5 star restaurant in a small town. Coming from the bustling Bay Area, I knew this would be a whole different vibe which it was. The place was quite full, so I'm glad we made reservations and were seated promptly. Now I'll be honest, the drinks were good, but the wines were lackluster, but that's ok. The food! OMG the food! Started with the garlic bread with cheese and stuffed my face. It was so great, crunchy, garlicky-everything you could imagine. What a great Home town family ran Italian restorante! Always a great meal served. Absolutely best eggplant parmigiana, and delicious meataballas!! Great little hidden gem. We walked in on a Friday night a little before 6 and got to last available table. From our seats, we saw many people turned away because they were booked solid. We had the fish fry which came with a nice, fresh salad and really good fresh bread as well as a side dish (we got Mac and cheese) and a small helping of coleslaw. Everything was fresh and delicious and generously portioned. The servers seemed a bit short handed, but did their best to keep on top of things when things got backed up in the kitchen. Not super great, but definitely okay. The menu is bizarrely long and varied which always is a red flag to me. We were seated right next to an air vent that was super loud every time it kicked on during our meal. I like the charm of very old buildings, but that part was not charming. The side salad was iceberg lettuce, black olives, chickpeas, tomatoes & onions - very mediocre. I ordered the stuffed shells & sausage -- it was exactly what I expected, perfectly portioned, and delicious! My husband ordered a steak that was incredibly large and overall weird - when asked how he would like it prepared he indicated medium rare and the server said, I'm not sure we can do that, let me check. Is that a New York thing? Anyway - it came back chewy and pretty rare in parts. So if you eat here, maybe avoid beef. read more

Simply delicious! Everything we ordered was just so fresh and tasty. We just happened to be driving back home and wanted to grab lunch. A little taste of Italy in Little Falls NY. Happened upon this place purely by chance, decided to give it a try and will definitely go back. Limited seating space but staff was friendly, you could tell by conversation it is a place locals go because many people seemed to know each other. Menu offers a nice variety, they have a limited beer & wine list. Food portions are very generous and wonderfully prrpared, fresh and delicious. I ordered a seafood pasta dish, shrimp and scallops were tasty but not plentiful, but given the price I was okay with it. Ruggieros has recently added space to their small restaurant. An arch leads into what was the store next door. Now they have a very nice formal setting in addition to the un-remodeled hole in the wall I have visited 5 or 6 times. The food is plentiful and filling and often very tasty. Their Greens and Beans soup "cup" is the size most restaurants call a bowl. Service is efficient but not terribly friendly. I ordered blue cheese dressing on my house salad. There was a surcharge of $2.50. Just for comparison I called Delmonico's Steakhouse in Utica. Blue cheese dressing, as in most restaurants, comes at no charge. If I were to add blue cheese crumbles (which I did not) the most expensive area restaurant I know said they would charge $0.79 read more

Went to Ruggerio's on Sunday March 8th for a family birthday...we had a party of 7, which included one young child. We all were served buffet-style. When the bill came, I accidentally miscalculated the amount and inadvertently vastly over-tipped. I contacted the restaurant immediately upon arriving at home. When I explained the situation to the manager, she told me they weren't able to help me...that I needed to contact the credit card company - which I did. The long story short is that despite explaining the situation to the business the day this took place, and instead of them accepting the amount of tip I had approved through the credit card company - they disputed my claim stating that since I signed the receipt, they were under no obligation to return any portion of my miscalculated gratuity...it appears to me that miscalculating the tip wasn't the ONLY mistake I made that day. The service we received was minimal because, as I said - this was a buffet. If the food was "good", I could easily swallow my mathematical pride and accept my mistake...let's just say the biggest mistake I made was going there in the first place - not the least bit impressed by your tactics! read more
