Review of Ruggiero's Trattoria Italian Steakhouse - Little Falls, NY As we were traveling back to our our home base, we were looking for a relaxing restaurant that has amazing food after a very long day of filming in Connecticut and our team found this amazing little gem. Our recent dinner experience at Ruggiero's Trattoria Italian Steakhouse in Little Falls, NY left us completely satisfied and impressed. From the moment we stepped foot inside, we were enveloped in the warm and inviting ambience of the restaurant. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by our hostess and soft live music of a gentleman resembling Tony Bennett in looks and voice. Our server Michelle was more than just a server, she approached our table with confidence and kindness. To start our meal, we indulged in their Manhattan Clam Chowder and French Onion soups. The Manhattan Clam Chowder was simply divine, with a rich and flavorful broth that was loaded with tender clams and savory vegetables. The French Onion soup was a delight as well, with the perfect balance of sweet caramelized onions and melted cheese on top. The side salad was fresh and crisp, complementing the flavors of our starters. Moving on to the anticipated entrees, we were pleased to find that they exceeded our expectations. The Chicken Parmigiana, with its homemade sauce, was a true standout. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender, and juicy, while the sauce had a depth of flavor that could only come from homemade goodness. It was a comforting and satisfying dish that hit all the right notes. Equally impressive was the Salmon dish, which was served with a side of rice pilaf. The salmon was cooked to perfection - moist, flaky, and seasoned just right. The rice pilaf provided a delectable accompaniment, with each grain cooked to the ideal texture and packed with fragrant flavors. Throughout the evening, the attentive service from the staff added to the overall dining experience. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to our needs, ensuring that we had a memorable and enjoyable evening. Ruggiero's Trattoria Italian Steakhouse truly delivers on its promise of delicious, authentic Italian cuisine. The attention to detail in each dish, from the homemade sauces to the expertly cooked proteins, showcases the chef's culinary expertise. The flavors were rich, satisfying, and left us craving for more. If you find yourself in Little Falls, NY, we highly recommend dining at Ruggiero's Trattoria Italian Steakhouse. Whether you're in the mood for classic Italian dishes or perfectly cooked steaks, this restaurant offers a dining experience that is sure to leave you wanting to come back for more. This is NOT in Herkimer - it's in Little Falls and it. Is. Awesome. Huge portions - ask for a box when you order - you'll need it. My pasta combo special was easily enough for 3 people :) Came with an excellent fresh side salad and the BOMB garlic knots! Affordable, easy to find something to please anyone and absolutely fresh and delicious. The service is a bit slow but what's your hurry in upstate NY?? If I lived here I'd be here once a week and then working out the rest of the days to prep for more :)

During Xmas month, they serve a drink called Tom and Jerry, which consists of eggnog batter, Rum, and Brandy. That drink was delicious. I had the Seafood Linguine, and that was pretty good, but I've had better. I would order something else on the menu next time. My coworker ordered a Delmonico steak, and it came with a baked potato. She said the steak was cooked right and very tender. All dinners came with roasted peppers, bread, and salad. The salad was mediocre (Iceberg lettuce, black olives, onions, tomatoes). In my opinion, I do think their dishes are overpriced compared to other good Italian restaurants in the area. The service was good. If you're in a hurry, it is not the place for you because our food took an hour or longer to come out. They have a big dining area and a tiny bar area. It is cute with the Xmas decorations, but overall, I think they should update their dining areas. They also should have a well-lit parking lot for safety reasons.

Food is quite good, but I think they are still working out a lot of kinks in managing the dining room. We arrived early but waited to go in until reservation time. Parking was not available so another patron had parked on the grass and we parked next to them. Once winter arrives, I think ppl will end up have to park down Seneca Turnpike and walk back. The paved area isn't sufficient for a full dining room. It is a very modest bar, and a small dining room. There were ppl in front of us who were walk-ins. They mentioned one staff member told them it would be 20 minutes and another said two hours for walk-in. We figured it wouldn't be long for our 2 person reservation. Hmmm. I don't think anyone in particular is greeting patrons or managing reservations. The wait staff seemed to be pitching in as they could. The walk-ins (in front of us in line) were seated at a 2 person booth 20 minutes after our reservation. We objected as the other part of my party had been seated on a Saturday evening, very close to reservation time. The staff member said the walk-ins were waiting longer than those with reservations. As they should. We were seated after an hour past reservation time. Larger parties were seated on time after us, they had reservations 30 min after ours. Those tables had previously been pushed together for a party earlier, and staff didn't separate them for smaller parties that had earlier reservations. We were seated at a small table in front of the kitchen door. Food was quite good. We ordered wine as we arrived to the table as well as the meatball appetizer. Eventually someone stopped with menus. We ordered when someone else stopped at the table. About 50 min later, the entrees arrived. We did get our water glasses refilled. I had ordered haddock and it was fresh and very good. My friend ordered a fresh pasta dish, which was good, although not exactly as they ordered it. During our last hour there, (the owner) Christian Maya's father stopped to speak to us and he had checked in with us a couple times after the entrees were delivered. We really appreciated that attentiveness. So I took a star off for the reservation issues. I took a star off for gaps in service. I'm sure they will be able to improve on these things. For now, I recommend that you wait to go there unless you don't mind a considerable wait for a reservation.
