I just completed a project with Yair and his team and there's a few things I really wanted to highlight: 1. Very prompt communication. Any follow up questions I had, any progress with the project, and any status updates were always provided efficiently. Despite my busy schedule, Yair maintained communication and provided frequent updates. 2. Very friendly team, and efficient as well. Our front yard is about 1000 square feet, and everything was completed rather quickly. Safety cones were used as needed to mark off areas, and the foreman also kept contact with me for various progress. 3. The project came out great. We recently had a very long overdue redo of the landscaping and design of our front yard and parkway. We were happy from start to finish. Everything started and finished right on time with no surprises or changes from the original quote. I would not recommend this landscaper. While his hardscape work was decent, the softscape was poor and many plants died that were never replaced. An unsuitable ornamental plant was never swapped out as promised. The lighting installation was a major issue. I later found the 35 pathway lights that I paid $180 each for were available to me for $70 at a retail lighting store. The transformer was underpowered, the wiring faulty, and the lights never worked properly. Worst of all, communication was nonexistent. Calls, emails, and texts went unanswered. I've already spent $1,000 on repairs, with more to come. Proceed with caution. read more

We are so happy to have chosen Pristine Gardenscape to redo our entire backyard! We had many bids, although Pristine was willing to work within our budget and also come up with a design to match our vision. Don't hire these guys. Not only are they bordering on criminal in both their pricing and in the quality of their work, but they don't even come to close to their name: a) their work is far from "Pristine" in that it is always messy, negligently rushed, and embarrassingly poor in quality (see the below notes about their lack of leveling their surfaces); b) they aren't good with "Gardens" - the lead guy, Yair, even told me directly once that he doesn't "really know anything about plants;" and c) they don't really know how "scape" anything with any quality. I don't even know where to begin. Suffice to say that I've never in all my years ever actually written a bad review of anyone - no matter how negligent their work - because I don't believe in it. That being said, in their case, the more time that passes and I see just how shoddy the work was and how criminally overpriced it was, the more I see that they saw me as an easy mark and they marked me. I hired them a couple years ago to do some hardscaping and landscaping work. Please see the below notes about the problems. I wish I had never hired them or bought into Yair's lies, excuses, or his hyper-defensive literal whinging. 1) Whenever I questioned the work quality or pointed problems out that they should have caught because they were blatantly problematic, Yair was either extremely defensive or always tried to blame the problem on something else. He strikes me as a massive manipulator. 2) They hardscaped some blue stones for a patio area. I had been explicit that they needed to do the hardscaping blue stone patio without cement. They made excuses for one area of it to need to be done with cement. Fine, I agreed to that. Then they proceeded to use cement on a normal flat section of ground that didn't require it. Cement is significantly easier to work with and make level. Despite this, there were sections of the patio that were so out of level that they had a bowl-like parabola shape. Of course the guys doing the work never noticed it. Likewise, Yair, who gets paid extra for his supposed diligent supervision didn't notice it (because he never came to check on it). When I first brought it up to Yair, he said it couldn't be helped due to the ground. When I persisted and pointed out that the ground was dirt and could be made to whatever level it needed to be, he finally relented (without an apology for the negligence). 3) They charged me $15k for a 25 foot length of outdoor stairs that are rebarred into the ground. We're not talking about anything fancy here. When I pointed out that the stairs were not level, Yair again said that it couldn't be helped. Not knowing enough, I ok'd it. I've since had a landscaper over who walked me through the rise and run and showed me how Yair was pedaling BS my way, yet again, and beyond grossly overcharging me. 4) They charged me $5K to put in some plants with some above-ground irrigation hosing on a dirt slopeside. They never reviewed the size of the plants they'd plant with me (they got the cheapest and smallest ones they could find) and, what's worse, 2 of the 5 varieties they planted weren't even what I'd explicitly asked for. When I questioned Yair about it, a supposed landscaping expert, he literally said to me, "I don't really know much about plants." Likewise, the jutenetting was horrifically messy. 5) Despite paying his crew for every day of extra labor that came up when some unexpected dirt moving came up, Yair whined to me (often) about how the project was taking more time than anticipated. He literally whined. AND...what's worse, because I'm kind and generous, in response to his whining, I gave a gift of an extra day's labor to try to help them out given that the project was taking more time than anticipated (as if that's my responsibility). A week later, Yair called to tell me he had forgotten to account for one of the days of labor for his crew and that I owed him for an extra day. I had to point out that it was a good thing I'd already paid an extra day out of the goodness of my heart. 6) They hastily and with terrible irrigation planted some ground cover for me, of which has now mostly died. You should have seen how quickly his guys were planting the ground cover, they weren't even bothering to get the roots in the ground. They literally just placed it on top and I had to go down later and try to remedy it. The inground drip irrigation system they put in, no matter how long it is run, just makes little sparse wet spots in the ground and doesn't get to all the plants. They also promised me 4" of topsoil for the groundcover and it was only 1-2" in many places. I sent him pictures showing him. He, of course, denied it and said that he'd come by to measure it himself. Again, he was pedaling lies. These guys are the worst. Yair is a charlatan. Don't hire them. read more

It was an absolute dream working with Pristine Gardenscape! We were looking to get rid of our turf, apply for the LADWP rebate program, and save some money and time maintaining our front lawn. I called a few companies to come out and share ideas and quotes, and Pristine Gardenscape was by far the easiest company to work with! Emma & Yair were both great. Emma came out herself to chat with us and and figure out what we wanted, and worked within the very strict requirements of the LADWP rebate program. She was able to share insight into the plant choices and work with us on updates until we were all happy with the plan. Yair was amazing to work with as well - he was on site with the team every day, making sure everything was communicated to us as it was happening. We were given an original estimate of 2 weeks, but the team wound up finishing our entire project in only 4 days! It was amazing watching the transformation and the entire team was top notch.
