I ordered the mango chicken bowl and the chicken was so dry it was almost like a beef jerky consistency. The rice was dry and it was overall a huge disappointment. The salad was so wet with sauce from the chicken it was like eating soap. I walked in at 7:50 tonight and they said their dining room was closed even though there were people eating inside. Whoever owns this franchise needs to check on them. We love Rumbi and when we recently moved to Layton, we were excited one was so close. But this location is terrible. They over cook their noodles to the point that they are mush, they skimp on rice portions, and they give you a fourth of the small cup of fry sauce for French fries. We've given them two tries, and they have disappointed us both times. My two year old wouldn't even eat the mushy noodles and he LIVES for their noodles. We won't be going here again. read more

Lunch here with my wife. I had the Fish Tacos and my Wife had the Mango Salad. Tacos were large and very tasty. Had nice flavor with bite sized grilled fish. Sauce and pico were fresh and added a great all around taste which was really good. This was served with choice of rice, which I had the brown rice. That was ok but kind of weird with Tacos. My wife's salad was fresh and she liked it. Said she would have it again. Nice island music playing in the background. Service was fast as we came in around 2 pm. I finally went to Rumbi when my girlfriend suggested it and nothing else sounded appealing, so we decided to go. I was in the mood for a burger and went for the Kahuna Burger and loved it. I got the 50/50 fries and loved those too. The teriyaki sauce is just sweet enough to mix very well with the saltiness of the burger and made everything taste great. My girlfriend got a rice bowl with pork and really seemed to enjoy it. I tasted it and really wished I had a big enough stomach to get one of those too. The only real complaints that I have was the bun just fell apart from all the sauce that was loaded on and it made it more difficult than it needed to be and they advertise two patty's, but they're very very small. But these are small things compared to how great the food actually tastes. Bring yourself and your taste buds and enjoy. read more

I originally ordered shrimp but I was told they were out. The side of tempura was half shrimps with a tiny container of dipping sauce. I love Rumbi!! We wanted to try Big Sais... They closed at 7 pm and it was 8pm. :( That's ok, we went to Rumbi! I really like their rice bowls, but their Voodoo chicken salad is also DELICIOUS!! Everything has always tasted fresh and cooked right. No complaints. I love zucchini in dishes like this. It makes things awesome. Jerk or teryaki sauce is a win win situation. I also tried their chips and salsa for the first time! MMM. Fresh hot chips, fresh made tropical salsa. It has chunks of mangoes and pineapple. My only sort of complaint was it could have been just a bit spicy, but it was still very good. We rolled ourselves out of there felling very happy. Maybe they put crack int he food. I don't know. But I've always had great experiences there. And even though its not a full service restaraunt, the girl that took our order and brought it out to us was SO nice. Rumbi Island Grill has some good items and is starting to do variety on a limited time rotations. My family likes to go here every so often, with coupons mostly, and have a simple tasty meal. My wife likes the rice, vegetables, steak, and chicken plates. She usually gets the jerk sauce with her meal. I enjoy the pork sandwich and some of the limited items that they offer, and most of all I really like the sweet potato fries that come in the Rumbi fries side of my meal. We have eaten here and the one in American Fork and they are all about the same and a great cheap meal when you do not want to cook. read more

Rumbi Island Grill is a great place to have lunch. I prefer getting their rice bowls over their sandwiches, but that's just me. Everytime I've gone the rice, meat, and vegetables have been cook very well, so there's no issue there. The one problem I do have is that their spicy sauce isn't spicy at all. I find it to be barely noticeable. However, they do provide some Sriracha Chilli sauce which makes up for it. On a side note the food here seems to be quite healthy. Their half chicken bowl has 500 calories, 6g fat, 77g carbs, and 34g of protein. The food isn't overly greasy or fatty and is just what my body needs when working out and I don't feel like crap afterwards. I prefer their Hawaiian Teriyaki Chicken or Pork with white rice. If I want it spicy I just add some sriracha chilli. read more
