I could have paid the same by taking it to a retailer that was 3 miles away, not 3 states away. The guys working there were really nice to deal with, but still, it would have been good to know the charge beforehand. At least my old TV is being recycled... and in the final analysis that is all that really matters.

Round Bottom is one of those companies that make recycling not only possible, but also easy and sometimes worth it. This facility will take almost anything, aluminum, steel, copper, brass, vehicles, computers, cells phones, you name it they probably take it. And, not only do they accept your recycled goods, but they will pay you for them as well. That sounds like a good deal if you ask me! Side note, when going into this facility don't stop at the little trailer near the entrance. Instead head around the trailer, back behind the big warehouse and to the small shed on the side. Recycling is weighed (and paid!) in the shed.

One time when I tried to discuss it with a driver, he almost ran me over. In the pursuing conversations with Rumpke supervisors, I was told not to speak with drivers because they are "not trained in customer service." Now once again, service personnel are refusing to take my recycling (three cardboard boxes and three plastic bottles), because they're not in a Rumpke can (they're in a separate green can clearly marked 'Recycling') despite my city paying for us to use cans beyond Rumpke's. Rumpke is bad value for what I pay in taxes, and we need more waste removal companies to break this arrogant monopoly.

They take so many more items than Rumpke...items that you wouldn't think of recycling from numbered and unnumbered plastics that Rumpke doesn't take to cosmetic containers.
