Tim completely made my visit wonderful, memorable, and got me excited about my new shoes. I don't always want to spend over $100 on shoes, but the older I get, the more I realize the importance of good foot support for your entire body! I came in thinking I had some knowledge about what I needed, he didn't ver discredit me, he just provided me with more knowledge. He allowed me to try on three pairs that fit my needs based on his assessment of my walk. He asked me if I was ok with a men's shoe, which I am. I just want the right one for me! I appreciated how he started by first asking me my goals and even broke them down by timeline. He also connected me with a running/walking group, being new here .. this is exactly what I need. I was planning on going to another store as well, but no need! His customer service was everything I needed and more. Thanks Tim!!

    New location!

It is with a heavy heart we say goodbye to the Dilworth location. So many good memories - meeting up with run groups in front of that store... but I am sure it will just take a little time to adjust to the new location at Midtown. The great things this new location has going for it is exactly it - the location. Right in the heart of Charlotte... way more visible than the Dilworth store strip mall, with the Charlotte skyline just a stones throw away. The new Midtown store is also right off of Little Sugar Creek Greenway which I am sure was definitely in mind when they were scoping out for new diggs. The store is opening today, I got to peak in the windows this morning at 5:30am with my run group that decided to officially move along with the store. There is still some unpacking to do, but the store looks to have a great space and still offering everything you need for running (that you could possibly want). The shoe wall was up (seemed larger?) and all the racks of apparel, running belts, running nutrition, foam rollers, etc. More than just being a place to get great running shoes, Run For Your Life also provides run groups no matter what level of fitness you are at. The staff are very knowledgeable and super friendly. You can tell they are really passionate about running and how it can impact lives in the community.

Only one register and associate for a store tat large on a Friday afternoon in Spring seems a little nuts but that's today's world I guess. The store always seems a little messy at least on the first floor. The second seems to be a little better organized at least in the golf section. The pricing is like all others. Ya Gotta Pay to Play. So pay I do. I do appreciate their rewards program. I love a good reward or coupon. Once you find the style you like, now you get to find a sales person who goes into the back and hunts for your size. We're not fans of this technique. And the prices are significantly higher than online. The convenience of having it "now" isn't worth it to me. No, Dick's isn't selling guns any more. A bummer as I didn't have much to look at while my wife was looking at shoes. [Review 2041 of 2024 - 3743 in North Carolina - 23061 overall]

PSA - Hampton's Buyer Beware: Store Credit Only, Unexpected $150 Restocking Fee and Refund Policy…read more(Update - response to owner comments at bottom) I discovered Hampton's Men through a Facebook ad and placed a $1,400 online order for a sport coat I had never seen or tried on in person. When it arrived, I decided it was not for me. I never even removed it from its packaging to try it on. I promptly returned the unopened item. Only then did I learn that returning it would cost me $40 in shipping, plus a $150 restocking fee that was not clearly disclosed during the ordering process. What surprised me even more was Hampton's Men's refund policy. Even after paying the restocking fee and return shipping, a refund to your original payment method is not guaranteed. Based on the policy, the company has complete discretion over whether to issue one. In my case, I was left asking the owner to make an exception just to receive the remaining $1,250 from an unopened return. That is not the customer experience I expect when making a $1,400 online purchase from a retailer I discovered through Facebook advertising and product photography. The owner told me he would "work with me," and I hope he ultimately does the right thing by issuing a full refund to my original form of payment. Until then, my advice to prospective customers is simple: read Hampton's return policy very carefully before ordering. Make sure you understand that an unopened return may still cost you return shipping, a $150 restocking fee, and that a refund to your original payment method may not be automatic. -------- Tyler, The most concerning issue is NOT the $150 restocking fee. It is that Hampton's can accept the returned merchandise, retain a customer's original payment, and provide only store credit instead of a refund to the original payment method. That is a material restriction. In my view, it should be clearly and prominently disclosed in the Facebook advertisement, on the product page, and before checkout, not simply placed on a separate Return Policy page. Had I understood that Hampton's could keep my $1,400 after I returned the coat and issue only store credit, I would not have made the purchase. For clarity, I opened the shipping box to view the sport coat, but I did not break the plastic seal, remove the coat from its packaging, or try it on. I returned it promptly in the same sealed condition. What is especially troubling is your admission that you initially intended to "work with me," but changed course after I posted reviews about my experience. In other words, the decision about whether I would receive my money back appears to have turned on whether you approved of my criticism. A customer returning a substantial online purchase should not have to rely on the owner's personal goodwill, or remain silent publicly, to receive a refund to the original payment method. Consumers deserve to understand that before doing business with Hampton's.

Overwhelming a bit, since there's so much gear in there. However it is organized, and I was able to find my way around. They are transitioning to cold weather gear this time of year, so I had to search a bit for the gloves and ear protectors, etc. Once I found, I was good to go! Staff was friendly - seemed like there weren't a ton of people working, it was a Wednesday after all. The checkout process was easy (I'm not a member). They only had huge bags, so I ended up carrying my purchases out in my hands. Just seemed silly! I'll be back, the outlet is great for replenishing my outdoor adventure gear!
