I've been wanting to check this place out since I moved down the street a few years ago. The bartend was super friendly and happily explained the membership requirement. I also got to chat to a few of the regulars. It is an intimate space, but it was really nice. It is all bar stool seating and there's a step up into the bar and then another couple of steps to the bathroom. So not ADA friendly, but like most bars they're just dealing with the cards they were dealt in the early 1900s when they were opened! Over all, you should go check it out if you're interested in finding your own little local watering hole.

Balanced, strong, and exactly what I was looking for. My bartender was super friendly and knowledgeable, which really added to the welcoming "neighborhood" vibe. Whether you're rolling solo or with a crew, there is plenty of seating for both small and large groups. My memories of Kelly's were clouded by early 20s nights out in Westport, and my impression of the place was that it was usually overly crowded, filled with bros, and a bit dirty. Essentially, the kind of place I feel like I would have found myself in during my college years. All of this being said, I have a friend that is a die hard Kelly's fan and I was genuinely excited to stop in, this time as a person in their mid 30s, and at a respectable time, to see what it's like on an average Thursday. You know what? It's damn delightful. First of all, the drinks are affordable, the bartenders are super nice and laid back, and while there were a good amount of folks in the bar, there was ample seating for our group. We never felt rushed, and it was nice to go to a bar that was unpretentious and just felt comfortable to hang out at. We stayed so long I ended up grabbing some pizza from Guys (that'll be the next review!) and honestly I just had a really nice, chill, evening catching up with friends. Is it the nicest, hippest, bar in town? No, but it's a KC institution for a reason, and I'm happy to be reintroduced it as an adult, and to find that an old friend like Kelly's still has a ton to offer even if you are no longer part of the 1am crowd.

Not sure about the food, as the only two things I asked for were unavailable. The drink specials did seem pretty good. A couple of times, the servers/bartenders even made their way around to offer drinks. I would say it seemed like mostly a 30 or so and up crowd, although there were a few younger people there. On TR website that burger sells for $13.25. At half off, it should be $6.64. We were charged $8.00. Add tax to that. On the TR website and the Pitch BW page it says the burger comes with fries or another side. We were charged $5.00 each for fries. This is called bait & switch!
