I'm staying in the area for a few mos & don't have access to a w/d, so go here every 2-wks as it's…read morethe closest laundromat. Even if it's not the best in the area, it's 2-mi away, so I'll deal. Pros: * W/D always work. Staff are strange rangers, although they maintain the equipment, all know how to use everything & they are always available, if you need help. * Plenty of large tables to fold. There are some chairs/tables but not enough for everyone there. The nice thing is even if it's full, people don't linger. They come in, do a few loads & quickly leave when done. There are also 2 benches outside if you want to sit or get away from noise, but be prepared to be inundated with a line of cig smokers. They are not considerate. * There is a soap/dryer sheet dispenser & coin change machine for quarters. It takes bills & credit cards. You can also pay at the $10 machines with a credit card but I've read a few reviews with some saying they were double charged or had additional charges, like $1-7 for an unknown reason. I don't need to deal with that afterwards when I see my statement... I just wanna wash my socks while on the road & leave... so, I carry my own quarters. * There's a vending machine with soda, water, chips, candy bars. Good to Know: * The location can be hard to spot when coming down Hwy 77 (Ohio Pkwy) so you may have to turn in quickly & possibly across traffic (depending on which way you're traveling). Traffic is 45mph & locals don't really give you a chance to turn in & will always block the driveway... so you may have to wait in the turn median for 4-min or so to gain access. Exiting the parking lot is the same. Mind the speed of the cars coming at you. * Driers are huge & take several loads of clothing. It's $1 for 8-min, then 25-cents for 4-min more if you put in the quarter before the drier stops. If you don't make it, it's another $1 to start again. But, they're very efficient yet don't burn up clothing or your hands when you remove it. It normally costs me $1.50 to dry 2 large loads in 1 drier. * Like any laundromat, patrons are always oddballs... loud moms with rude kids, 1-2 men who walk behind you too close over & over in a creepy way when you're folding lingerie (Ewww!) & most look like they don't bathe often. Most seem down on their luck & often have unruly, noisy kids running amok or a group will enter & don't care that they talk loudly & blocking pathways so others can't get by. I've seen it everywhere as I'm on the road a lot... it's not only in LH... but, if you're noise/people sensitive, you may want to ensure you have your cell/headphones with you or go to one of the newer, pricey places in PC & pay double what you pay here. I bring my cell/headphones, take it in stride & keep to myself. Cons: * Price: When I was here 1-yr ago, it was $6 for 2 loads of wash/1 drier. Now it's almost $10. * They have free WiFi, but it's buffering & usable every time I've visited so I need to use my own data plan. * I find the washer load capacities stupidly confusing. Some front loaders that say they hold 3 loads (for $5/wash) are smaller than the top loaders that are standard size (& $2.75/wash). It matters cuz whichever one I choose, I need 2 washers. The ones that say they hold 5 loads & are $10... nah. You can wash 1 large comforter (possibly 2 depending on style/size), but you're not going to fit in FIVE full loads of laundry... the load info is ridiculous. There are other machines for $15, as well. Basically, my recommendation is to use the standard sized top load washers for the most cost effective visit. * Not many parking spaces (about 10) & you need to be careful getting in & out of them, as there are often big ol' trucks in some of the spaces. With a small SUV. I have to reverse & go forward at least twice in order to get out of my space. There's also not an ideal amount of parking space room, so I barely have enough room to open my door to squeeze laundry into the front seat. I can never open my door fully. * I do get annoyed that every time I'm there, there's someone from a hotel taking up 6 w/d & washing sheets. The girls who work there are always doing customer laundry, too (it's their job, so just an observation), so it's crowded with all the sheet folding & trying to navigate around others to find an available drier. To that end, I'm grateful for only 10 parking spaces cuz it cuts down on the frustration of not being able to get a w/d. My advice: Look them up on Google Maps before visiting as it will tell you if it's a busy time or not. Basically, if you drive by & there's no parking space, you can't visit anyway, but it will save you a trip. I generally arrive between 7-9am. It starts to get busier & louder as I'm leaving. 4* out of 5. I don't love hanging out there with oddballs every 2-wks for 2-1/2 hrs, but I have to & am glad it's nearby.
