Awesome playground nice shade you til about 3:00 FUN game: spin and find the plaques for each symbol! Look for Sunrise parks & Rec Events they do movies in the park and during the summertime and they have free swim days!

Common path. Well paved and kept clean.

Best Park in all of Sacramento county. Clean facilities, family friendly, and hard working staff. Park always looks well maintained. Well invested in by the Community of Citrus Heights. Dog friendly. Event friendly. Great skate park. Huge pool. Great for walks.

I came here to work out in the morning as I like to run outside and treadmills are often a little boring for me. This park is full of so many different things- pickleball courts, baseball fields, tennis courts, skate park, pool, playground, picnic area, and huge open paths. The park is pretty well kept and I felt save running around the whole park. It is easily identified off of the street as there is a huge sign off of the street. The tennis courts definitely need some upkeep but the rest of the park is well kept. There are several different parking lots that you can park in that are open and easy to find. Definitely will stop by more!

Love going to Rusch Park with my dog. I have been impressed how clean it is during this pandemic. Keep up the great work!

I didn't have very high hopes coming to this park because compared to other parks it's kind of small. But it blew me away with all it had to offer and how much bigger it was in person than on a map. This park has SO much to do! There are two baseball fields, a skate park, a stream running through the edge of the park, plenty of grass area to run and play, a paved path running around the entire edge of the park, three parking lots, a covered and uncovered picnic area, a cool bridge, a World War II Memorial Rose Garden, a basketball court, two play areas and a pool! What more could you ask for? At about 10:00am on a Sunday morning there was only a few people at the park which was nice because my chihuahua had a bunch of space to run around and play by herself. Sure, there was a homeless person or two at the park but what park doesn't have homeless people? There was also a Park and Rec worker there too emptying trash and cleaning out the bathrooms. Cool! I really liked the paved path running around the edge of the park. It was nice to do a few laps around and see all the scenery! I will definitely be back to this park again because it's really convenient to get to (on Antelope Road where it meets Lauppe). A gem for the community!

Reserved the pavilion for my beautiful wedding in Sept 2018, had a great experience and would recommend for couples with a low budget. I wrote a thank you card to the office recently. Some of my details- if your curious- I dressed up the pavilion beams with white draperies. Had the ceremony under the large tree in front of the bridge. Took bridal party pictures on the other side of the park that is full of beautiful trees. I had lawn games near our area as well.

He does include tension releasing techniques/exercise's which is a huge plus if you have tension or pain in any areas. Bonus: He provided two meal plans. All in all, great experience!

An employee (Jackson) approached us and told us that we were not allowed to record ourselves anywhere on the exercise floor then proceeded to say "I'm not going to kick you out right now". This caught me off guard because I have worked out and recorded myself at other Planet Fitness locations without an issue, while following the rules regarding other members' privacy. Afterward, I reviewed Planet Fitness's published Mobile Device Use Policy. My understanding is that photography and video of yourself on the gym floor are permitted in limited circumstances, provided other members are not photographed or recorded without their permission, the recording does not create a safety concern, and it is not for commercial purposes. I completely understand and respect rules designed to protect members' privacy and maintain a comfortable environment. In fact, that is exactly why we intentionally positioned our camera so no one else would be included. What I find frustrating is being told that recording yourself on the exercise floor is simply prohibited when that does not appear to be how Planet Fitness's published policy is written or other wise communicated to members by signage (which there were none). If this particular location has adopted a blanket no-recording rule, I would appreciate clarification on that and where this location-specific policy is posted for members. If there is no separate policy, I would appreciate clarification as to why we were stopped despite taking precautions to comply with the published guidelines. Consistency matters, especially for members who visit multiple Planet Fitness locations and are trying to follow the rules. Members should be able to understand what is and is not permitted without receiving conflicting information depending on which club or employee they encounter.

While the gym itself has a decent setup and the equipment is adequate, the management and childcare experience were extremely disappointing. During a visit to the gym, my child was placed in the kids' care area, and when I came to pick them up, they were crying and had visible red marks on their forearm and stomach. Initially, staff (Nimsy) did not disclose what happened, and after I asked, I was told that another child had pushed my kid down--twice--and even sat on them. This happened on a soft play toy, roughly two feet high. I understand accidents can happen with kids, but what I cannot understand is the lack of transparency and communication. The staff withheld critical information about the incident, leaving me in shock and deeply concerned for my child's safety. Asking to see security footage was met with the response that I would need a police report first, which felt like an unnecessary barrier and added to the frustration. The lack of accountability and clear protocol for handling these situations is alarming. While the gym is clean and has a variety of equipment, I cannot feel comfortable bringing my child back under these circumstances. Parents entrust facilities like this with their children, and the way this incident was handled seriously undermines that trust. I hope management takes serious steps to improve childcare safety, communication, and transparency. Until then, I cannot recommend In-Shape Fitness for families with young children. Currently here now filing a police report and seeking the truth.

And considering "Van Maren Park" has been opened to the public since 2005, I feel honored and privileged to give this park its very first review for all to enjoy reading. Citrus Heights has roughly 25 parks; more than your average city with less than 100,000 residents. I find an abundance of outdoor recreational areas wonderful because it allows kids to truly interact the old fashioned way by playing outdoors and enjoying the fresh air. Located in a truly quiet, suburban, and residential part of town (in between Thalia Way and Stock Ranch Road), Van Maren Park is small but also feels as if you're in the wilderness. Since this park is only amount of mile from my home, I've walked and biked here on numerous occasions ever since moving to Citrus Heights in April 2016. With well over 4 acres of land, some of the features you will find here are 8 benches, 2 covered picnic tables, 2 BBQ grills, a children's play area, a basketball court, a bike rack, and a drinking fountain. Additionally, there are several paved trails leading down to a garden & nature area as well as a wooden bridge and creek. On the several times I've frequented this park, there has been little to no people coming here! I mainly see walkers, joggers, or people walking their dogs. And without a lot of the locals that visit here, finding a parking spot (if you choose driving here) is an absolute breeze. Even in the hottest, drought-stricken summer months (July-September), there is quite a bit of freshly cut green grass. I would give this quaint little park a perfect 5-star rating if it wasn't for a few minor things. I do realize this is a small park but it is lacking a restroom. Not a big deal but if you do plan on bringing a large gathering for the day (especially small children/babies), the closest restroom is nearly 1/2 mile away. Also, even though there are trash bins, everything is few and far between. So plan accordingly if you do happen to spend a few hours out here. Overall, this is a great family park that is super quiet and a great relaxing place to spend the day.
