Here are my observations: Service: -waitress on our visit was personable and attentive -carryout order was ready when I arrived and checkout was smooth -on both occasions, all items were received as ordered Ambiance: -you have to navigate some steep steps after you enter the door to reach the place, so could be a challenge for some -interior is dark, which when the sun peers through the windows it can be a challenging contrast on the eye -walls are filled with various decoration. appreciate the Chicago-vibe, but it's a little busy visually Food: (Visit #1) -not a lot of options for non-meat eaters (which my wife is) -we split the Spicy Cheese Curds ($11), which I believe were simply fried pepper jack cheese cubes (a generous portion) that came with a side of ranch. It had a kick, so it was what it said it would be. -we also split a Cheese Pizza ($17) on their regular crust. the cheese was generously applied, sauce was OK, the crust was subpar and not something we would order again (Visit #2) -Bavarian Pretzel Sticks ($12) come as an order of 4 lightly salted sticks with sides of nacho cheese and honey mustard. The sticks are among the better pretzel offerings I have had. Not the best (that would be 101 craft kitchen and Red Front), but definitely better than average. -Da Beef ($14) was a nice portion of beef. Because I was doing carryout, I got the sauce on the side. -the sandwich came with a side of their in house chips, which I really liked. they aren't seasoned if that's your thing, but I simply appreciate a fresh made potato chip and they were that Overall, if you like meat, it's probably on their menu and I'm guessing will scratch your itch. Stopped in to Rush for a snack and a beer while out doing errands. The beer was cold, the Blue Cheese Buffalo Chips were delish! With a bright red door entrance, it can still be hard to miss the Rush on Main, as the restaurant resides on the second floor of the building. Once inside, you're taken right to Chicago with all the sports memorabilia. Despite having a dive bar feel, it's still fairly bright in there, with windows facing Main Street with views of the trees. Our server was very friendly and helpful (name forgotten). We both ordered the Lincoln Park Chicken sandwich which has the grilled chicken marinated in pickle juice. Really want to love this place. However, the amount of time it takes to get the food seems way too long. The servers are fantastic, always kind and polite and helpful. Unfortunately she apologized for the amount of time to get the food. We were a party of four, few drinks and nothing unique off the menu, and it took forever. We got in a little before noon on a Sunday, and it wasn't packed, so hopeful it would take too long. The food was good and tasted delicious, so if you have time to sit and catch up with friends, this is a good place. If looking to get in and out within an hour, I'd look elsewhere. Based on yelp reviews, I had to give this place a try. Chicago style menu. Sandwiches, a couple salads and a couple tacos. Several appetizers on the menu. I chose the Windy City chicken sandwich. It was pretty good, but a little messy so I had to eat it with a fork. The jalapeños made the sandwich very tasty. I upgraded with tater tots, which were also cooked. perfect. They have a nice five or six beers on tab which were nice choices. They also have a full bar and several bottles. There was a group outing this evening when I was there. I normally set up the bar as I was traveling by myself, but was inundated by this group. If I would've known this was going on, I may have selected another seat outside of the bar. Either way Service was very good even with the large group in there. The bartender did not forget about me and checked back often, which was very impressive given there were probably 50 people in here. First time in Rush On Main. Stopped here as part of an adventure from Guess Where Trips. My friend's knees are not so great so we debated if we wanted to walk up the stairs to the bar, I did not see an elevator. Ultimately we made the trip up the stairs and we were greeted immediately and they said we could sit anywhere. So we chose a low table and chairs. There were also plenty of high-top tables with seats with and without backs and a bar that also had seats with backs. Our waitress brought us a menu and took our drink order. We ordered iced tea and Diet Pepsi. I ordered a Chicago Dog, it came with home style chips. I ordered a cocktail as well, an Italian Margarita, I did not care for this cocktail. My friend ordered the tacos. My dog was fine, the bun fell apart easily. This is definitely a pub and the interior was pretty cool. They have a straightforward menu with familiar classics, done well. The Chicago dog was a favorite at the table. Each ingredient along with the poppyseed bun and the snap of the hot dog is what made it a stand out. The homemade chips served with it were so good we had to order more. The seasoning was balanced and not overpowering. It was the crispy consistency and the non-oily fry on it that makes it my top favorite of all other establishments making fresh chips. What potential these had but fell short. One of the two had too much air in one half and only giardiniera and cheese in the other half, lacked sausage all together. The other was a better mix of the three ingredients. If I went for these again, I would definitely try the Italian beef instead. My wife had the Cuban Comet which she enjoyed. I am not a Cuban fan and thought it was good. Our son opted for wings in BBQ sauce which were a pleasant surprise. The wings were large and meaty and the sauce was a bit spicy, which we liked. I particularly appreciate that the sandwiches don't come with a side automatically, so you can indulge in an appetizer without needing to add a side too. Very cool, kid friendly experience on a weeknight. Not sure it would be so kid friendly during a game or anything a little more rowdy with the bar being so close, but all in all I was very happy with our visit and would definitely stop in again if we're in town. Weirdest experience is the men's bathroom, which is definitely designed for single occupancy, but is also the emergency exit so it doesn't lock like the women's restroom. So if you want privacy, not the best place for it. This was our first time visiting Rush on Main. Service was very, very good. We sat at the bar, and everyone behind the bar was very friendly and helpful. We were there on a Sunday afternoon, so things in downtown Zionsville were starting to slow down, but Rush on Main still had a fair amount of people. The pizzas were "okay" - certainly adequate, but I was hoping for something a little more Chicago style, given the theme of this place. Chicago deep dish is probably beyond the scope of what this restaurant is trying to achieve, so I understand that. The ambiance was also okay, but not great. The main detractor is the long stairwell that must be traversed, to actually get up to the bar & restaurant area. I realize I'm getting a little older, but those (steep) steps sure seemed like they went on forever. Overall it was a good experience, and we'll be back again I'm sure. read more

I love this restaurant in zionsville! It is tucked away on the main downtown zionsville street. This bar/restaurant has such a good vibe and environment. It has a Chicago theme, and has some classic Chicago food staples on the menu. The food is affordable and delicious, and the service is always quick! There are TVs all over if you're trying to catch a game. I also love how some of the walls are chalkboards to write things such as " gift a friend a drink". The stairs to get up to the restaurant may be the steepest stairs I have ever seen, but when you reach the top, it's a pretty cool place.
