It's okay. I wouldn't say the regular burger is better than in-n-out though. Had to try it. Freddy's was better imo.

My wife and I decided to try this place based on several great YELP reviews and comments from…read morefriends. The most important advice I got was, if I order the food "spicy", then I should be prepared to have the air sucked out of my lungs. That's my only food alert. So, I ordered a chicken tenders dinner at the "mild" level of spicy with a side of chicken étouffée. WOW!! It was delicious and the large portions of both the tenders and étouffée were a surprise. My wife also ordered the chicken tenders dinner, but with no spices added. She decided on onion rings as her side and said they were not very good. I tried one and I have to agree the onion rings are not on the same level of tastiness as the rest of their food. The restaurant was clean and had lots of seating. They also have a bar if you need some liquid courage to try a higher spicy level on your food. Since it was our first visit here the wait staff was very nice and helped us decide on what to pick. I highly recommend you give HotBoys a try, but as one YELP friend found out.......if you search the internet for "hot boys" be prepared for the results you get......:)

Also very clean inside out and the bathroom too! Plenty of seating and the patio was nice. We ordered chips & salsa, camarones (shrimp) dinner, Quesabirria, chicken, shrimp, & a fish taco. Overall we loved everything but the chicken taco, but only because I don't like that kind of cheese, the chicken itself was great. Plenty of limes with the tacos, salsa bar was fresh, unlimited pico! The mild salsa that comes with the chips were my fave and the chips were crispy and warm. I'd order all of the same things and add a house margarita or fried ice cream. we really indulged but left feeling full but not in a gross way. The food was fresh & not greasy either. Highly recommend the shrimp and fish taco. Amazing!!

But it's not associated with the gas station (don't go in there to buy lotto tickets) as the convenience store is on the other side of the pumps as is a Dunkin Donuts. There's a nice patio in front, but it's facing Michigan Rd which is basically a highway so I have never seen anyone sitting out there. Thr inside is much quieter, but there's not much to the decor. No sombreros or Mexican flags here. But that's not why you come here. Order from the counter and pick up your food when it's called. They have a limited bottled beer menu and they also serve margaritas. And the drinks are cheap. :) As their name implies, they specialize in tacos, especially quesabirria tacos. But they also have several other tacos (lengua, tripa, pastor, chirizo, chicken mole, shrimp, etc), all a la carte. I like their tacos, but I come here for the pozole.

When we arrived, the place was empty. We weren't even sure that they were open until we saw the kitchen staff behind the line. Upon entering, I saw a kiosk where you can place your order, but a woman emerged from the back to take our orders. Being that we weren't familiar with the menu, I told her that the kiosk might be easier. She insisted that it wasn't, and as I went on, I realized the same. The kiosk states that there is a $1.25 charge for the sauce on the side, but she explained that it comes with one sauce free of charge and additional sauces cost extra. We placed our order with her: A small Italian salad to share, the Fatty B calzone with the spicy marinara sauce and the Hot Mother Clucker calzone with the chipotle garlic ranch. We ordered them with the suggested sauces but also order the regular marinara and the garlic sauces on the side. We were given glasses for water (self-serve from the soda fountain) and also ordered a bottled beer and canned cider. By the time we were done ordering, a line had formed. The store was understaffed, which was explained to us later, so we had to exercise patience. We didn't receive our beverages until after the calzones were delivered. Before that, we received our rather large, small salad. It was more than enough for two people. The woman had explained to us that it comes with 4 cups of lettuce plus the toppings. That information helped us make our decision to share. The space is large and we noticed cornhole boards to be used on the patio. Unfortunately, it was raining when we went, otherwise we would have played. The calzones were good and filling. Neither of us finished ours and had food to enjoy at home later that evening. The Hot Mother Clucker isn't very pizza-esque, but dipping it into marinara sort of brought it back into the fold. The suggested chipotle garlic ranch was a better pairing indeed. The salad bowl/plate is oddly shaped, which caused toppings to being spilling off the sides. When it was brought to our table, the woman tried saving the toppings by wedging them between the order slip and her fingers and dumping them back onto our plate. I stopped her. I wasn't trying to be rude, but I don't want to eat food that a stranger's hands have touched. I explained this to her. She tried to assure us that she washes her hands constantly throughout the day, but she'd just come over from the register without a handwashing break. Just let the toppings fall where they may! Let's keep it hygienic.

But I needed something different, because the Greek food scene here just hasn't hit the same for me after growing up around Chicago and living on both the East and West Coast. This place was exactly the kind of spot I was hoping to find. First off, the owner is an older gentleman and he's awesome. I ordered, stood at the register waiting to pay, and when he came back he asked if I needed anything else. I told him, "I need to pay," and he just goes, "No, you pay after you eat. Don't worry about it." You don't find many places like that anymore. The gyro itself was packed to the absolute brim. Honestly, it could easily be two meals. The meat had great flavor, the pita was fresh and flaky, and everything worked perfectly with the tzatziki, feta, lettuce, and tomato. The place itself is simple when you walk in. Nothing flashy, nothing overdone. But between the owner, the regulars, and the overall feel of it, it almost feels like you're sitting in someone's home you grew up in. Comfortable, welcoming, and real. Definitely a must-try. The gyro gets a solid 8.1/10 from me.

The best part, meals come with this tiny butter croissant that it out of this world! So good!!! Desserts are a hit or miss. Some are really good and others just okay. The first couple of times I was here, everything was fairly smooth and service was great. The last time that I was there (a week ago), I did not have that same experience. There are different people working there, unsure if newer or not, but it was definitely not as inviting and my order was wrong, so it was not typed in correctly. I did not say anything, I am positive they would have made it right, but it was a no biggee. I also ordered a coffee and when I went to get it, it was still not made. My food came out but no coffee. I was told "I will make it for you now" and then it was brought out a little bit later. Unfortunately, I was finished eating at that point, but no biggee. My point with the above, is that the customer service is just not on par like it used to be, not sure what the changes are, but I love this cute spot, so will be coming back! PROS: Parking easy Outdoor seating Fireplace in main room CONS: Customer service not great at times
