So here I am again. It has been forever since I wrote a review of any kind on Yelp. I thought this would be the right time now. This location and company was formally under the name of NOVACARE. It is now RUSH. I have been coming here on and off for many years. JERRY DAVIS IS A GAME CHANGER! I have been to several other therapy providers in the past. None compare to this. I have been treated for several injuries as well as hip and knee replacement here. I had complications with both surgeries especially my knee because of my body. I was suffering so bad I thought it would never be the same but I was wrong. Not only is the expertise of Jerry and his staff a key differentiator but so is the personal 1 on 1 attention and coaching you get on each visit. I am currently being treated for a fractured spine. I was in bad shape when I came here for this and now I am back to normal life. This guy must have magic hands and should be insured by Lloyds of London or something. I had a 2 day headache going recently and he was able to get rid of it in about 3 minutes using hands on therapy on my neck. This is a after2 days of pain medication that did not help. WOW to say the least! I have had my family and many friends treated here on multiple occasions and their experience and feedback is the same as mine. I have an upcoming hip replacement and you can bet I will be back here again without question. So what are you waiting for? read more

Not only was the initial intake thorough, but the staff were very welcoming and I felt heard. Most of the time, medical professionals are too busy to hear your whole story, but that was not the case at RUSH. They wanted to know EVERYTHING, which helped them diagnose and come up with a plan. They immediately went to work after the intake on my issue with my cervical spine. After only two visits I have seen 90% improvement with reduction of pain and increased mobility. I initially attended Rush Physical Therapy at Tinley Park due to back discomfort related to arthritis. Jerry Davis is the Center's Manager. Jerry was patient and thorough I could see he was truly involved in his work.The therapy relieved my back discomfort after only a few sessions but I continued until my discomfort was totally relieved I also had bilateral knee replacement last year and because I continued to have stiffness and discomfort in both knees I wanted to continue therapy at Rush PT in Tinley Park. All of the therapist Tim Enriquez and Cady Bell were both great although Jerry is the therapist who worked with me the most. I recently "graduated" from Rush Physical Therapy with flying colors! I had experienced a fall, injuring my wrist, elbow and shoulder. My doctor wrote a prescription for physical therapy. Rush was highly recommended and conveniently located for me. The recommendations did not disappoint. Thank you to the staff of Rush Physical Therapy for the professional and courteous treatment. From my initial evaluation with Caty Bell, to the follow thru with Tim Enriquez, I knew I was in good hands - literally! The evaluation was thorough and goal oriented. Each visit carried me closer and closer to my "graduation" goals, mainly increasing strength, and lessening of pain. Each exercise and massage/manipulation helped my condition improve. I was also given exercises to continue at home with tension bands and complete instruction sheets. Not only were the therapists helpful but also the front desk staff in accommodating my crazy schedule. Sadly, I accidentally missed an appointment (my fault) and I was able to reschedule right away - in a friendly and professional manner. I had my last visit with Jerry Davis, Center Manager, who had been observing my progress all along, so I actually graduated ahead of time since I had met all my goals. Avoid like a plague! I ended up in the ER after my second visit and after a third, I could barely walk! After the third visit, I went to a professional that was able to help me walk in 2 visits. A month later, Davis called me at 7:30 pm and was drilling me with all kinds of questions, like , who do I see, what kind of work he does with me, what kind of exercises, I was so incredibly uncomfortable, I told him I will call him back, hung up and blocked his number. He definitely sounded under influence. On my third visit, Davis made me wait outside the door, in the cold, in excruciating pain, for 15 minutes stating he had zoom patient and I came on time, for my appointment. He has 3-4 patients at the time and doesn't even pay attention to 3 other patients. Picks his favorite and works with them. He insisted that I work on my core and I have no issues with my core, before I got hurt, exercised on a regular basis: yoga, TRX, boot camp. My core is fine. Like I said, avoid like a plague. I never, ever experienced anything like this in my life! Extremely unprofessional and lacks the knowledge in his field. read more

Somehow he and his staff even made therapy enjoyable through their personal service. I needed a physical therapist and glad I found Rush PT here in Tinley Park. From the moment I called, the receptionist quickly and professionally took care of my needs. I was able to see Jerry (manager of site and therapist) that day and have an evaluation of my problem. Therapy was initiated immediately. What I really am impressed with is his knowledge and ability to explain everything he is doing and the purpose of each exercise given. I hope you never need physical therapy but when you do, you'll find it quite confusing because everyone says they are the best. When I was searching for one a few months ago, I found several were closed on the list of network providers. Disappointing because it was a current list from my insurance website...and just shows you how transient these places are. In calling NovaCare on 80th Avenue in Tinley Park, I was greeting personally by Anne who was very helpful and knowledge on insurance requirements. She had to do some extra inquiries because I was on COBRA...and she got all the right answers. Some of the others I called had you leave a message...that was never returned! The person who answers the phone makes an impression and patients can go anywhere they want! Because of Anne, I was confident she would take good care of the paperwork and reimbursement work. The exceptional part of working with this NovaCare is Jerry, the therapist. While he does have all kinds of initials after his name...it's more important how it is applied to each unique situation. He has both the knowledge and the wisdom to help along the healing process and keep the discomfort to a minimum. He gave many suggestions on techniques I could use at home and I like that it was a variety...not the same old movement over and over again. The atmosphere with other patients is always friendly, while maintaining privacy. I believe this location has been open several years. Again, showing their stability and dedication to their patients. One time, it was snowing and the roads were bad...and I knew he was coming in a little earlier for me. He made a point of calling me that morning to let me know travel was bad and making sure I wasn't in trouble on the road. I have recommended him to others...so thought I would add it here. read more

I have been in pt at the novacare tinley park location for almost a year now for tendonitis in the left elbow and then after surgery for that the right elbow. The staff is the best out there. Sara May was awesome at taking care of all the paperwork and scheduling. Sarah Z. was my main therapist and was great. She was patient with me when she did the needling and cupping. Explained everything as we did things. Worked with Jenna C. also and she was also patient with me and explained everything she was doing. Both were awesome and I Highly recommend NovaCare for the Needling and Cupping and general PT. When you enjoy going to Physical Therapy they are doing something right. Jerry schedules overlapping sessions so there are a minimum of 2 and often 3 or even 4 clients at a time, even though he is the only therapist. His method is to tell you to go "over there" and perform an exercise while he goes to attend to the next patient. This probably makes sense for therapies that cannot be performed at home. But performing your home exercises in his facility provides zero additional value. After 5 sessions with Jerry, I received targeted physical therapy only twice. So if you prefer a more personalized and targeted session, this is not the office to use. I should mention that I have received physical therapy sessions from two other offices over the past 10 years and both offices were more customer focused. I stopped using Jerry after a session where I arrived early only to receive little more than a "how are you?" until 40 minutes after my session had started. Then Jerry expected me to stay past the hour to complete a full session. Of course, he billed my insurance for the self-directed time during which I was waiting for him to finish with another client. Lastly, I would like to mention that I do not believe that Jerry is representative of all Novacare therapists. While Jerry was on vacation, a substitute therapist filled in. She did not schedule as many overlapping clients, provided targeted and personalized therapy, and suggested ending the session when the targeted therapy was concluded rather than trying to fill up time with home exercises. Update 10/20/12: Whomever wrote the reply on Jerry's behalf has no idea who I am or is trying to mislead the reader. Let's hope it is the former. Neither Jerry nor his admin assistance and I ever discussed his busy hours and in fact, my appointments were at different times of the day including 7:30 AM, 12 PM, 1 PM, 3:30 PM, and 4:30 PM. I kept records. The fact is that Jerry overbooks himself. I hope he has made changes since our time together. read more

If I could give Novacare 12 stars, I would. I had total hip replacement surgery in October 2013. Before my surgery, I interviewed several local physical therapy businesses in person, in and around Tinley Park. Most of them were too busy or disinterested to answer my questions. At one facility, the teenage girl at the reception desk only knew how to giggle. I walked out immediately. Luckily, I stopped in at Novacare in Tinley Park. Anne immediately got up from her desk and greeted me. She introduced me to physical therapist Jerry Davis. I was able to ask questions regarding my upcoming post-surgery therapy which he answered intelligently and thoughtfully. Jerry is knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and passionate about what he does. This is not just a job to him, it is his vocation. I had no idea what to expect as this was my first experience with surgery and rehab - I was terrified. Jerry is patient, but at the same time he challenges you to do the best you can without pushing too far. I love all the tips he shares so you can continue therapy at home on the days you're not scheduled to come to the clinic. When I saw my surgeon in November, he said I had progressed well beyond what 99% of hip replacement patients had at this point, and he attributed this to the excellent physical therapy I was receiving at Novacare. I'm about to graduate from regular clinic visits as it's been almost 3 months since my hip surgery. Jerry has instilled in me the passion and desire to continue with my recovery and I'm better, stronger and healthier thanks to the excellent care I received at Novacare in Tinley Park. read more

I've only been going to Novacare for 10 days, but I can already notice such a huge difference in my hip pain. I had severe hip pain due to bursitis & had been to all kinds of doctors with no relief from the pain. This occurred over several years. Finally my nurse practitioner sent me to Jerry Davis for physical therapy. Jerry was the only one who figured out the issue & got rid of the pain. I too was a patient at the Tinley Park Novacare. I got the same treatment. "Go exercise"........Not once did I receive any hands-on treatment. He (Jerry) spent most of my time there with his back to me typing away on his computer. There were 3 other people with me on this particular day. Once I finished my exercises I got up to leave. It wasn't until then that he decided he wanted to talk with me. I said no thanks, and left. Why should my insurance company pay him to ignore me while I do exercises I could just as well do at home. Originally went to Novacare because it was the only local option I had covered by my insurance. I feel as though we got extremely lucky. I have been to other clinics in the past and have always felt like my therapist was fresh out of college and just giving me their standard protocol exercises instead of understanding what could be the cause of the problem. At Novacare, you don't feel like a number and you feel like you are getting the attention of the Boss, not one of the subordinates. Jerry is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his job and your rehabilitation. My 13 year old special needs daughter dislocated her kneecap a little over a year ago. Jerry was very patient and helpful in explaining what caused the dislocation and what exercises we were going to use to help rehabilitate the knee. About 8 months later, I was prescribed Physical Therapy for Shoulder Impingement and there was no question of where I was going. Jerry again did a great job of explaining what was causing the impingement and what exercises we needed to do to correct the problem. Five minutes with Jerry and you definitely feel that he found his calling as a Physical Therapist. I normally don't comment on other people's posts, but I was shocked that someone had such a different experience. Jerry does normally have one or 2 other clients in the clinic at the same time, but I never felt as though I wasn't recieving the attention that I needed. After your first session, you know specific expercises that you are to do. When I walk into the clinic, I begin those exercises and Jerry communicates with me and while I'm doing them and during my hour, Jerry will find the time to stretch me, administer ultrasound, or introduce me to some new exercises. He always asks me about my progress and the amount of rehab that I'm doing outside of the clinic. read more

I went to Jerry as a last effort, I saw a DO doctor about upper back and chest pain only when I sleep. The doctor had no clue and sent me to see a back surgeon at Northwestern downtown. After ex-rays and a MRI this doctor had no clue. I went back to my primary care doctor and she said lets just try some therapy and see if it can provide some relief. Now this has been going on for about 2 yrs, back and forth with doctors. I even bought a sleep number bed and nothing helped. Now I went to Jerry before for a rotators cup and tennis elbow. He did a great job with fixing me up and he takes the time to explain whats wrong and what it is going to take to fix it. So when I saw Jerry at my first appointment I explained to him my problem and before examining me he said I know whats wrong and I know how to fix you. I laughed a little because 4 doctors where stumped and he knew just by what I had told him. Well let me tell you he was right! just after 3 appointment I could feel and see a 50% improvement and after 6 appointments I have about 75% improvement. I'm looking forward to been pain free! After living with pain for over 2 years and the loss of sleep, I feel like a new man. I have been to multiple therapists and let me tell you they don't have the passion for helping someone like Jerry. I would and have recommended Jerry to anyone that needs and wants to get better. read more
