I had no idea what was wrong with my car. I explained the issue to the tow driver, who arrived in about an hour's time. He didn't offer any solutions or suggestions, but I was still grateful for his professionalism and timeliness. He also allowed me to ride with him to my home - which was supremely valuable. Perhaps the tow company merely tows and doesn't offer suggestions. Turns out that all I needed was a battery.

But there's one story that stands out above the rest, and it's a testament to how unpredictable life on the road can be--and how a good team can make all the difference. Last November, he was hauling a load back from California, nearly home, when disaster struck. Around 3 a.m., just outside Ann Arbor, he hit a deer. The poor animal didn't survive, and the collision caused some serious damage to his rig. Stranded in the middle of the night, he called Detroit Highway Rescue5 Rescue, and let me tell you, they came through in a big way. They showed up fast, towed his truck to their shop, and had him patched up and back on the road within 24 hours. By the next day, he was rolling toward Chicago with a new load like nothing had happened. I'm still amazed at how quickly they turned it around. If you're a driver in the Detroit area, I can't recommend Detroit Highway Rescue enough. They're the real deal--fast, reliable, and they know how to get you back in business. My cousin's got plenty of stories, but this one's a keeper!
