HONEST COMPANY! Triple digit heat wave and my AC decides to stop working. Nick comes to fix the AC and after an initial inspection the typical common fixes didn't seem to work. We agreed to move forward with a deeper inspection and possible draft up of a quote for fixes. ( I was devastated at this point because who wants to shell out summer fun money on an unforeseen breakdown). Nick was so thorough though, and did a second evaluation of the initial phase and found a single burnt menacing wire! He replaced the wire and BAM working cold AC. Some could've just trucked along after the initial inspection and gotten me to replace the entire system. The best residential HVAC provider in Tracy. Brittany and Nick were very professional, highly communicative, and provided exceptional customer service and excellent work. I used them to temporarily disconnect my condenser unit (the box that sits outside from HVAC system) so that I could have my landscape work completed, then reconnect everything. Brittany was very accommodating with scheduling the initial disconnect appt and reconnect appt to closely follow the pouring of my concrete so that I wasn't w/o AC for too long especially given the extreme heat we've experienced in Tracy. From start to finish Nick was sending me pictures of his work and things he found that the subcontractor my home builder used didn't do right so that I could file warranty with builder. Also - did full system check before disconnecting to check for leaks and after reconnecting for same. Will definitely use them for all my future HVAC needs. BTW - having a professional like Nick (safely) disconnect & temporarily relocate your condenser unit is the safe way of doing GC work in or around your condenser unit; many things that can go wrong with a contractor "lifting" the condenser, especially on older units. read more

On our last job together, she stayed on top of some MFG warranty work for more than a couple months. Today, we Finally got our warranty work approved and they are refunding the costs of the parts back. Nick is really great too. Our Carrier furnace started acting up last winter. We weren't sure whether it was the thermostat or the furnace itself that was causing the system to not run frequently/long enough to reach the set temperature. We put up with it for a few months before calling in for help. Before speaking with Russell's, I called the company who originally installed the system in our 2 year old house, but no one bothered to answer my call. Anyways, Nicholas and his assistant came in the next day, spent a couple of hours in the attic trying to understand the issue. He said he wasn't sure what component was causing the system to not function properly. After leaving our house, he spoke with Carrier's tech support and determined that it was the control board that was broken. He even filed a warranty claim with Carrier and got a refund for the part cost (labor, sales tax and return shipping for the old part are not covered under warranty). In the end, this repair was more expensive than I thought it was going to be, but I loved Nicholas' honesty and responsiveness. I have a slow air conditioner system leak I know about before Russell became involved. I knew up front my repair would be more complicated than usual. Technicians presented several repair options. Prices reasonable and staff honest. Overall good experience and feel treated fairly. 2nd experience - Company serviced our compressor and said it was under warranty with manufacture in amount of $1500. This money was never returned too us. They did not contact us. When we contacted them about this issue our call was not returned. Not sure what's going. 3rd experience - Company contacted us and returned rebate. I give them credit for their explanation, honesty, and responsibility. We can all make mistakes. This service is really good. They didn't try to push additional services on you. They changed out my air conditioner filter lickety split, checked inside the AC, checked the temp of the air coming out of the vents. They gave me different reasons as to why it hasn't been operating properly and what to look out for, to contact them again if the AC unit makes a lot of noise as it sometimes does or doesn't cool down the room as it's supposed to. But of course worked fine while they were here. And they came out today the same day I called and had eight more people to see after they left today. Busy with this heatwave! Nick came out to diagnose an issue with an imbalance of airflow between some of the upstairs rooms. He immediately saw the issue and recommended a fix to divert some of the airflow from the master bedroom to to the other rooms. He also noticed a small issue where there was a leak in the duct work. I called in the morning and they called me back in the afternoon to schedule a tech between 4-7. I was unavailable at 4 but she was able to call Nick and he was able to stop by within 15 minutes of my call because he was running ahead of schedule. Our AC unit would randomly freeze up and I thought it was a serious issue however he told me it was nothing to worry about and that sometimes when it gets too hot outside that's normal as long as it does not happen every time we turn it on.
