VM was closed on a hot Sunday so I foolishly called someone cold turkey on the internet. Guy comes out, changes $100 up front (Actually $99.94) and said there was a leak and it would be $12,000 to replace the system. (No kidding.) Monday Virginia Mechanical came out and fixed a broken part and checked everything and it was $300. The tech did suggest we get an annual $89 service as our filter (I am embarrassed to say) looked like a home for crows. They were communicative and helpful in every step. read more

My whole house fan upstairs was performing poorly, and I placed a service call to Virginia Mechanical (who had been recommended by a good friend). Brandy at VM secured a quote which was very reasonable, and technician Marcus soon arrived and determined that the motor had reached end of life and needed replacing. Brandy placed the order, and after some supply side issues, Marcus was scheduled to complete the job and also check out my furnace which was now working poorly. Marcus first examined the furnace and determined that a capacitor was failing. He secured parts, repaired and cleaned the furnace, and it then ran well. Marcus then replaced the whole house fan and belt, and afterwards it also ran very well. My call was immediately answered by Brandy who was sympathetic to my problem and arranged an appointment a few days later. The employee from Virginia Mechanical arrived on time and went straight to work identifying the problem. I was presented with various options in which to solve the problem. It was also explained to me the possible short time and long term problems. I never felt pressured for an "up sell" on repairs. Quite simply the worst service that I have experienced from an HVAC company. It took weeks before I finally just told them to forget the whole thing. They were not the most expensive bid, but when you show up at 7:30 a.m. without even having an appointment or a contract, then it makes you wonder what kind of service they provide. Virginia Mechanical offered the lowest price but the system they put in is far better than any of the ones that the other companies offered. They even added two supply registers at no extra cost. Our blower burned out for our a/c. Called Virginia Air 8 am and explained problem... polite gentleman said a tech would call when gets page.... I Received call promptly and was told window from 10-11 (perfect) ... When they were 20 minutes past window, I gave a call to office and lady who answered phone told me they give two hour windows (10-noon) um, ok, but that wasn't what I was told by the technician. But ok. Serviceman is 15 minutes out she says (now they are about 20 minutes from us so do the math). Flash forward (yes blower out, serviceman says need to get part from Elk Grove... will be to our house tomorrow after he services in Danville expects to be there between 11-1) (note the longer 3 hour window) Fine. That works out around my kids' carpool... perfect. 2:00pm and I call the office (oh the part just arrived and I'll send a technician out now). Now, of course, it is in carpool time and the dog has been locked out... forever. 2:15 and waiting.... I am thankful to have repairs and I understand delays... and the technician yesterday seemed to know his stuff... (hopefully whoever they send now does too) BUT really how hard is it to call and say we are running late... or short staffed or the part isn't in yet... etc... (or even we forgot about you) .... Talking to Bill on the phone, he gave me a price over the phone (which was less than all the others). After reviewing all the companies and talking to my uncle, I decided to move forward with Bill. From the first moment to the last Bill was there each step. Starlit at the office is awesome and great to deal with. The installation team led by Daniel was awesome. They cleaned up when they finished, they found a couple of issues with Freon pipe (kinked) repaired at no additional charge, and at the end a couple of rooms were not getting good air flow and they took care of it with newer registers. Overall I am very happy that my uncle recommended them. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a repair, a solution to an issue or just an upgrade. I recently had an AC cooling issue on my property in Tracy. My property manager contacted Virginia mechanical. For diagnostic they took 200$ and found leak in system. They gave estimate of 3019$ for the AC repair and had to get a part which was under warranty. But they couldn't get it done till October. For temporary cooling they said refrigerant can be replaced until the unit is fixed. They charged around 1700$ for 14lbs of refrigerant. And the cooling lasted for just 3 days. When I call back they say we can't guarantee how long it lasts. Just after 3 days the system is stopped cooling again. They recommended the work which they were not sure of. They were dishonest about it. They gave a recommendation and did the work when they didn't know if it would work. They didn't tell me that it might not work when I called them before. Now even to see why the cooling is not working they want to charge me again. They obviously don't guarantee their work for even a week. I'm running away from these guys. Never experienced such a dishonest HVAC service. read more

So after holding out so many years for that Smart Meter, PG&E came knocking on Friday 6/29 to tell me that I had no choice. So he advised me to shutdown computers and television. It was a 100 degree weather in Tracy so I had the A/C running but the service tech neglected to tell me to turn off the A/C. Power came back, and a few minutes later the A/C fan blower stop working. Husband came home and went to the attic to confirm but it was already late Friday and didn't want to deal with it. At 9am Saturday morning the heat was already in the 90's so the hubby postponed looking into it but he is pretty decent when it comes to fixing things. At 9pm it cooled down a little finally so he did research online for the problem and found that the capacitor blew out during the Smart Meter installation. This morning at 8am, we contacted Virginia Mechanical, mind you it's Sunday and it could possibly be the warmest day of this week (in the 100's). The A/C technician arrived at 10:30am and confirmed the blown capacitor. Fixed it in half an hour, spent most of the time going up and down the attic (and dealing with scorching heat in there). Anyway, the final bill was $84.95 for half an hour work on a Sunday. What I like about them is that they are honest! And for coming in on a Sunday and dealing with the current heat -- I would've paid a lot more! The A/C tech was polite, honest and more than capable. We are very happy with them! We know who to call next time something happens to our A/C. We're planning on replacing our POS A/C soon and we will check on them first! read more

Busy moving into house, called to have furnace problem checked. "Tech" looked at the furnace for awhile, charged for the call and said he would send quote for a 250ish dollar disassemble and clean. I took a look at the furnace and read the installation manual that was on the furnace. Moved a couple of hoses that were landed on the wrong ports. 10 min. later the furnace works fine. read more

NO SHOW, NO CALL. I had an appointment set up for today between 3pm and 5pm after waiting through a heat wave as the A/C is broke. The reviews are outstanding so I took a chance. About 5 minutes to 5pm I got a little anxious and checked their website only to find that they close at 4:30pm. No after hours phone number provided. UPDATE: Somebody finally called me after I contacted the answering service twice so I was so happy. This house is extremely warm and every night around 6 pm there is a rubber like burn smell. I've purchased a $650 Penguin (portable A/C), hung up some plastic to block off the hottest rooms, block out the sun with window coverings and run all the fans I own which is 3 and the technician tells me that everything is fine here. No repairs needed, no cleaning the vents or coils needed, no updated fan needed, no nothing??? Just keep living like this with the same. I believe this A/C is headed for a complete breakdown. Here's my experience: I had an AC issue (not turning on), so I called my home warranty company (A*H), and was assigned HVAC company (Infi**** Hom* Solut****). The tech arrived 6 days later with no PPE or shoe booties. He said the problem was an unknown electrical issue "somewhere", and would need approval from my home warranty company to continue any repairs. The tech said his office would call me within 24 hours to update the status. After he left, I noticed a small dent in the attic access cover (drywall) and pieces of insulation on the floor. Wires to the furnace were left exposed/disconnected and the cover to the control board was left off. I tried many times that day and the following day to contact them, and eventually talked to someone. I was told they did not have my info due to computer issues, but someone would return my call when the computer was repaired. I waited until the following day, but still got no calls. Eventually, I got an email from my home warranty company that said the repair would be denied due to the tech's report. Again, no return calls at all. I stopped at that point to avoid any further frustration. I phoned Virginia Mechanical, and talked with Brandy. She made an appointment for several hours later. Marcus arrived within the time slot that same day. Marcus was polite, listened to my issue, and had a mask and shoe booties. Marcus went above and beyond for the repair. He explained his findings and solutions throughout the repair. Marcus then cleaned his work areas upon leaving. Initially, used Virginia Mechanical Heating & Air to ascertain the problem with our old system (August 2018) and realized that a new HVAC system, a total replacement was the most prudent route, based on age and condition of the current one. A contract was drawn up to replace and with work to begin (September/October 2018). Although, a few shortcomings in the beginning that would easily be overlooked (change in date on install, the biggest) had everything else been on point this would easily be a 5-star rating. This rating is based primarily on the company's response to an error they made during the install and causing damage. The company's Initial response was satisfactory, however, the speed in addressing repairs less so. It required multiple phone calls and follow-ups initiated by me to get it repaired and frankly was a huge inconvenience that although acknowledged by them did not speed up their response or concern in getting it handled in a timely and professional manner. I would not use them again for the sole reason that any consumer faith I have in their abilities in this trade is totally negated by their poor management skill set in dealing with a customer, especially when there is a problem. Their technicians are really good (easily 5-stars), but I question those behind the scenes that direct this company and proved lacking in professionalism and customer satisfaction in their services. read more

We had them come out last summer as a second opinion and Virginia Mechanical said we could still repair our unit and did not need a new unit (the first company recommended a new unit). Now this past weekend our other AC went out (we have two units in our house). They sent a technician out on a Sunday (!!!!) and it was only a small part that had broken on the compressor. I randomly called the first number I saw in our phone book for AC servicing and it was one of the best decisions I have made. The service representative (Marcus Silva) who came out was fantastic. He was very patient, efficient and thorough. He answered all of my questions, went through my unit completely. Washed down the coils, the external unit and cleaned all of the air vents. Really BAD service!!!. my Tracy house recently had AC issue. After an emergency quick fix, I learnt that I need to replace the old AC Units. So I scheduled an home AC inspection with Virginia Mechanical Heating & AC. I got a call from VMHAC, after the scheduled time, said that I need to pay them about $224.95 NOW because the contractor inject 2 lbs of cooling liquid. I told the lady that that's not what I asked you to do. Then she threatened me if I don't pay her now, she'll send the contractor back to my house and take the 2 lb liquid out of the AC system and said IT GOING TO Be HOT again!!! I actually chat with my attendant W the day before VMHAC went there. W said the system is good so far as the temp fix works fine. I told VMHAC that what I asked was a proposal to replace the current AC system. After the negotiation, they said that I need to pay addition of $100 to for them to go there and put some coloring stuff in the system and they'll go back to inspect the system and give me a proposal. I paid $324.95 with my credit card, and got a brief text message: work completed. I don't get any receipt, and they NEVER Show up for the scheduled system Inspection. read more

These are great folks and they have done a fantastic job, with everything that I needed to be done. My first introduction to them was when my roof started leaking, and a roofer stated that it was related to my air conditioner stand on the roof. They said to call an air conditioning shop.
