Russell Landscaping is not a honest company. They have employees traveling on the interstate hauling old mulch mixed with large rocks and with no barriers to block flying rocks. My windshield was cracked and thankfully I didn't have a wreck. When they contacted me they refused compensation, I have to pay my deductible to get it fixed. They need to educate their drivers before some gets hurt. read more

I wanted to install a new Field Stone walkway and paver patio so I did some research on Westerville hardscape businesses and got some good reviews on Russell so I called for a quote. Russell came out and I discussed what I wanted to do and he said he would put together a quote, email it to me and schedule a time in a week or so to view paver samples. So fast forward almost a month later, several phone calls and so far Russell hasn't even the courtesy to return my calls. This project will be a lot of labor as access to the area is restricted due to my fence and not being able to bring in a bobcat which would make it far easier to get the job done BUT Russell can't even return my calls to tell me they are not interested in quoting a price for the job.. so if you do try and contact them, don't be surprized if they never return you calls... We contacted Russell to get a french drain installed in our backyard due to some bad flooding in the spring. They had us scheduled, but it was only an approximate date due to the uncertainty about the weather. Unfortunately, the job got pushed back significantly due to May and June being rainy. While frustrating, this is no fault of the company. I get that they are at the mercy of the weather. However, what upset me a bit was the inconsistency of the customer service. There were a few things in particular that irked me: -- I was generally the one who had to initiate contact to find out whether they were coming on a day where the weather was a bit questionable. -- I was occasionally given incorrect information. Once, I was told three times that the crew would be at my house "shortly" only to ultimately find out that they weren't coming until the following week. -- Back to my first point, due to bad weather, they had to reschedule the service for a day I was out of town. That day came and went, and I contacted them to ask whether they had come and how the service went. They e-mailed me back to tell me that they weren't able to make it that day. Had I not contacted them, I'm not sure they would have contacted me. All in all, once the service was actually completed, I was happy with the quality of the work. I think they just need to be a little better organized from a customer service perspective. They do really high-quality french drains, so I would recommend them despite some of the communication hiccups. read more

This company apparently doesn't need anyone's business. I requested a quote for a French Drain in January. They told me they couldn't do any work until the spring (which I get because it's winter and this is landscaping). However, they refused to even give me a quote. This was their response: "I cannot provide a quote before March. Our quotes are only good for 30 days due to the constant fluctuation with our suppliers. And while that may not directly affect your quote, it is our policy across the board." So based on this, I guess they don't want or need any new business. So I wouldn't waste your time. read more

I have had bad experiences with landscapers in the past and to be honest I am a little skeptical when reaching out to hire one as it seems anymore a guy has a beat up pile of junk truck (and his equipment is the same) and he tries to pass himself off as a business. From the start I was impressed by Russell Landscape Services website so I decided to give them a call. They did not disappoint as they were friendly, professional and the final product was exactly what I was looking for. The owner, Russ, was a genuine nice guy which I also found refreshing.
