Crack wrapped in foil! oh, so good!

Darla was awesome! Thank you so much for pointing out the different type of peanut butter eggs and introducing us to the Butter Nut Crunch with Almonds, Toffee, Milk Chocolate that is referred to as the candy crack. We stopped in to buy a box of Milk Chocolate Almonds but they were out (that shows how good it is).

One of the first stops that caught my husband's eye was the Candy Wizard. We found a couple of things to bring home. Two hanging plaques(to celebrate the year we were born and the year we got married, as we celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary this year). We also found a couple of booklets for those same years. Next time, we may stop in and pick up pieces for the next set of years that mean something special to us. If you have a sweet tooth, you will be in heaven with this shop. There is plenty to choose from here. From candy sticks, the current favorites out there today. The staff was very sweet and attentive during our visit as well.

Right off the top,…read moreyou can see from the outside that it's going to be adorable...it's hot pink and aesthetic to the max! But then you walk in and to call it charmingly sweet is an understatement. We came in specifically for an ice cream cone on a hot summer day but if you are in search of hard to find or unique candy, this is a good place to stop in as they have selections from all over the world! I was also pleasantly surprised to find out they stock ice cream from One More Scoop which is always a favorite in our house! Although it was a difficult decision after some sampling, I went with the Gooey Butter Cake ice cream on a sugar cone and my forever date chose the coconut cream pie ice cream in a cup. SO MUCH YUM! If you find yourself in the area, please stop in to Hey Sugar! They are delicious, kind and the vibe is totally spot on. (Special shout out to the beverage drinking bovine on the wall...so cute!)

We popped in for ice cream, of which they had dozens of incredible flavors (which they were extremely generous in sampling out!), but they also have sweets and treats of so many other varieties! Candy, shakes, Italian sodas, shaved ice, dippin dots, and agua frescas, at the very least! Suffice to say, there's countless ways to earn your cavities here! ...and you'll love every second of it! The young lady working the counter on our visit was super kind and helpful, and her ice cream-scooping prowess was outstanding! There are a few tables to sit and enjoy your delectable sweets, as you admire all the different candy and treats you can purchase to take along with you! Hey Sugar shot to the top of our list to visit any time we have a sweet tooth in this part of town!

My children love coming here and seeing all the nostalgic candy from their parent's childhood and even their own. This is a great store if you have someone that's hard to shop for. They had a sour patch kids flavor drink we had to try. We hadn't seen it anywhere else before. One thing about candy shops, they normally have center displays with chewy candies you can buy by the weight. This allows you to try a bunch of different things in one place. This is the option we went with in addition to the sour patch kids soda. The layout is nice and they really do have options I haven't seen other places. The decor pops and it inviting. Everything is clean and seems well taken care of. The employee was very helpful, a little too much since he kept asking us if we had questions, but we were the only patrons in the store. Overall, it was a more unique shop then some of the stores you might shop in, but still commercialized. If you like candy though, its definitely worth a try. Oh.. and the sour patch kids soda was waaaaaay to sweet. It wasn't sour at all. I thought it would be more like flavored lemonade with a sour punch, but that's not a comment on the shop itself.

Milk Chocolate Caramel Rabbit: Russell Stover (RS) has been going strong for over 100 years as the…read morecompany was created in Denver, CO in 1923. Around this time of year, the company's major product is its famous chocolate marshmallow eggs. Marshmallow eggs are okay, but chocolate and caramel is even better. RS's Milk Chocolate Caramel Rabbit is available in 3oz and 7oz sizes. Even though this was my first time having it, I opted for the larger as it was 50% off. The biggest unknown for me was if the caramel filling would be distributed throughout the entire chocolate rabbit or just in the girthier body. Taking a big bite out of the ears, I was delighted to see that even the thinner head and ears contained caramel (just not as much). As far as the consistency of the filling goes, it's more liquid than solid and can be a little runny. The flavor of the milk chocolate and caramel filling is fine, but nothing to get too excited about. I still prefer a Cadbury Caramello, but for the price, RS is a good deal. Doughboy approved.
