Wow! I certainly didn't know what to expect when I went here. This place has been on my list for some time. I knew it was going to be expensive so fair warning that you will likely spend $3-4 per chocolate. However, I cannot tell you how amazing these were. They have such creative flavors that you probably have never tried before. It beats any "fancy" boxed chocolate I have ever had. You can tell that there is a true art and craftsmanship when it comes to their chocolate creations. I would say this is a must for a special occasion, needing a gift or taking someone around kc for the first time. They also offer a chocolate tour on their website. I have not done this but I think it would be a great experience to learn more about the craftsmanship behind the chocolates.

I stopped by Christopher Elbow Chocolate for a tour and some sweet treats, and overall it was a really enjoyable experience! The chocolate is absolutely amazing rich, smooth, and beautifully crafted. I picked up a box of four and a peanut cluster. The tour began with a sample of Aztec drinking chocolate, which had a bit of a spicy kick. Not exactly my go to, but it was fun to try something different. We learned about cacao trees and the full process of how chocolate is made, from bean to bar. I did walk away with some new info, though I was hoping for a more behind-the-scenes look maybe some machines in action or chocolate being made in real time. It's a neat experience if you enjoy learning about the "how" behind your favorite treats. That said, the chocolate alone is worth the trip. Friendly staff, a small but stylish space, and decadent creations make Elbow a must-visit for any chocolate lover.

Christopher Elbow has some treasurable treats inside the store! I picked up 1 white chocolate bar, one milk chocolate bar, and a pack of Tropical Pate de Fruit and they are my new favorite things! The people are so kind and urgent to meet your every need.

15/10. Best chocolate I've ever had in my life. I truly could not stop smiling from the joy this evoked in me. We had already eaten a big breakfast but I wanted to stop in here from a recommendation from a friend. I got two: the fleur de sel and the bourbon butterscotch or something like that. The fleur de sel was PERFECTION. Possibly THE best singular thing I've ever tasted. The butterscotch was fine but the fleur de sel is something I'll think about. My mom got the lemon and was in heaven!

Customer service was amazing and patient! The lady helped me pick our 48 pieces so I could make a double advent calendar. It is always an exciting time to go there. They make great gifts! I got the Black Friday online discount since I mentioned it. So I bought some smaller holiday flavors too.

I ordered a 24 piece signature chocolate collection box. $70 + shipping is stiff for a box of chocolates. Was it delicious? Absolutely! I do want to say this shipment was so well-packed and the shipping cost was reasonable. I was impressed at the care they took to get my chocolates to me in good condition. None of the pieces were chipped or cracked. Does this chocolate company get my seal of approval? Yes, it does. Will I order again? Although it will cost me a pretty penny, yes I would order again for special occasions and as gifts for people who are dearest to my heart.

I came in for the hand crafted gourmet chocolate and was intrigued when they offered the drinking chocolates made with oat milk and fresh whipped cream. Most definitely the BEST hot chocolate I've ever tasted in my life. It was so good I had to double back to buy a canister so I could enjoy this goodness at home! I love the fact that it is crafted from pure dark chocolate and blended with Tahitian vanilla bean. A packet of Swiss miss could never! I wish there was a franchise in Kansas, but I am happy Missouri isn't too far away. Special thank you to the girl who helped me pick out the perfect gift and use my reward the same day. I love companies that offer rewards for the money spent and I can't wait to come back and try the homemade marshmallows!

Delicious works of art and not too sweet. Some of my favorites are the dark chocolate turtles, the fleur de sel, the rosemary, strawberry balsamic, lavender, and banana foster bonbons. Staff at this location are great. Their seasonal flavors and designs are also wonderful.

Christopher Elbow is one of THE iconic names in KC. I can't think of a more special gift than giving someone a box of Christopher Elbow chocolates. They are beautiful, unique, and delicious. It's fun to gawk at them from the other side of the glass. They also have seasonal candies, drinking chocolate powder, chocolate covered nuts, and chocolate bars! It's expensive - I'll give you that - but the whimsy is worth it. The reason to go to the store in Crossroads is to get drinking chocolate! It is luxurious, rich, and creamy - so much more decadent than a regular hot chocolate. They have delicious flavors. I recently tried the spiced dark chocolate, and it is SPICY! So warming. Getting a drinking chocolate was a KC bucket list item for me and my girlfriend for so long. One of the best times to come is on first Friday right at 4 pm because they often have deals where you can get individual chocolates for $1. It is crazy in there, and if you get there even an hour late, all the chocolates will be sold out. Get there early and reap the benefits!

All I can say is OMG!!! These chocolates are incredible. Definitely not cheap but every chocolate is a unique taste explosion in your mouth. Everything from the presentation to the information sheet inside which explains the different flavors of each chocolate to the professional finish of each piece of chocolate is mind blowing. Chocolateering is a science and an art all In one. Each chocolate melts in your mouth and exposes the flavor bit by bit as it melts. I can't wait for my next box!!!

I'm not a huge chocolate lover but I could eat Christopher Elbow chocolates all the time. Unfortunately, Christopher Elbow only has stores in Kansas City and San Francisco. I've never seen these chocolates sold where I'm from. I stopped by the Kansas City store and tried a variety of their chocolates on display and purchased a box of Peanut Butter Cups. Christopher Elbow chocolates are expensive but so delectable and worth the treat for oneself or loved ones during the holidays or special occasions. I made sure to savor every morsel. I will be sure to stop by again the next time I'm in Kansas City.

Delicious artisanal chocolates. Couldn't tell the different single origin ganache apart well because they all had the same chocolate shell.

Delicious chocolates. Artisanal and expensive but worth it to sample occasionally. Couldn't tell the single origin ganache apart because they all had the same chocolate shell covering. Bummer but delicious anyway. Rosemary chocolate had rosemary infused caramel inside. Yum!

I visited this cute, classy, chocolate heaven while I was exploring Kansas City. The chocolates are tiny pieces of art. Seeing them in the display when you walk in is a feast for the eyes. The worst part is trying to pick out which ones to buy. The flavor combinations are amazing. I bought an 8 piece box. I wound up buying a couple of extra pieces ($2 ea) and a dark chocolate peanut butter square. I believe it was $4. The size of this square is 2-3 pieces of the small chocolates. I also want to note if you love coffee, you should purchase one of their decadent espressos. They use their chocolate and then add in the espresso. They aren't very big and they are $6, but just soooo delicious if you like chocolate and espresso. Not only are the chocolates exquisite, but I got lucky and Cecelia was working the morning I visited. My partner stayed out in front of the shop walking our dog so I could go in and when Cecelia saw them out there, she walked out with a big bowl of water for my dog. She also spent time talking with me about the chocolates. After I picked the Earl Grey and a chai, she said we probably enjoyed some of the same flavor profiles and recommended some more even giving me one piece to taste because she thought I would like it. She wasn't wrong! The Yuzu Mandarin is exquisite. I wound up with the Passion Fruit, another Yuzu Mandarin, a Rosemary, Fresh Lemon, Lavender, Fluer de sel, and Pistachio Cherry. She made sure I had a menu that describes each chocolate so I could remember as I try them. They also ship! I believe they only have locations in Kansas City and San Francisco. After getting my chocolates together, making my espressos, and ringing me up, Cecilia asked if she could walk me out and meet my dog. She told us more about Kansas City since she had moved there 20 years earlier. The city has changed a lot but they still love it and it was the best move they ever made. She is a great ambassador for KC! She also loves animals and has rescue rabbits. My dog is very shy but let Cecilia pet her. She knows a good person when she meets them. As we were getting ready to leave, Cecilia said her Monday had started off frustrating and she thanked me for coming in because I had made her day much better! What a kind thing to say to a customer. She had made my trip to Christopher Elbow Chocolates special and joyful. I'll remember Cecilia long after the chocolates are gone, so I hope the company knows how much their employees brighten the experience of their customers. I am now eating my chocolates slowly because they are so pretty to look at and scrumptious! I'll miss them when they are gone! Maybe I'll call up Cecilia to place a mail order soon!

Julian, the Director, is a fan of this place and he'd sometimes order an array of cakes for the staff to enjoy, they always went fast, and it was my first foray into European style cakes like what Andre's serves up. Flash forward more than a decade and I've been here a few times, sometimes to get chocolates for a friend, other times (like last night) for a meal. I didn't realize that Andre's does special events like their fondue nights. I have a feeling these are annual so you might have to wait until 2027 to snag a seat at the table, but their fondue meal was so much fun and comes with some history from their staff. Fun thing I learned was that they sell their fondue year round in the shop so if you ever want to do a unique date night at home just pop into Andres and purchase some to-go. It would be such a fun way to spend a Saturday at home. Finally, I'm going to add that for me what takes Andre's to the next level and makes it a must visit spot in KC is the history. It's been in the same family for generations, the recipes are authentic, and the owners are really kind people. It's the kind of business you can feel good about supporting and I'll be back!

My friend has celiac disease, so it's important to me to ensure my gifts to her meet her dietary restrictions. I checked online and discovered that almost all of Andre's chocolates are gluten-free and--better yet--they were open on Christmas Eve until 4 pm. So I dashed over after work, arriving at 3:40, and the folks behind the counter were all so kind and so helpful. I explained what I needed and they showed me the ready-made boxes of chocolates available--but then offered to put one together for me right then, to make sure that we chose exactly what she wanted and that every chocolate was gluten-free. They guided me through the choices, telling me the flavors that were in some of the selections, and giving their recommendations based on my friend's tastes. How nice of them!! I walked out close to the stroke of 4 pm, with the perfect box of chocolates in a lovely gift box. Hurray!! I really appreciate the staff's kindness, and going the extra distance for my friend, at the very end of their work day before the holiday started. Thank you SO much to everyone at Andre's, and Merry Christmas!

I love a lot of spots around the metro, but let's be honest, some of them get crazy busy and you end up waiting in line for a while. That's not a dealbreaker, but with a summer of social distancing, it's nice to have a spot like Annedore's that is tucked into the neighborhoods, has outdoor seating, and is never too busy. Their gelato is so good, and the service is friendly as it gets. We've made a tradition of walking up here as a family once a week, and together we've ordered or sampled: Cookies & Cream, Birthday Cake, Mint Chip, Chocolate Chip, Coconut, Strawberry, Berry Sorbet, Vanilla, and Lemon Basil. All are great (not crazy about the birthday cake one my kiddo always gets), the Berry Sorbet and Lemon Basil are standouts on a hot day. Their portions are generous, prices are very fair, the outdoor seating is great, and it's a very clean shop. Oh, and I recently discovered that macarons are delicious, and theirs are some of the best around. They're around $2.50 a pop and well worth it. I cannot recommend this place enough for gelato, macarons, and of course chocolate if that's your thing. Want to skip lines for ice cream (well, gelato) this summer and still support local?
