Was excited to happen upon the Catnip Takeout booth filled with the most adorable handmade, felted cat toys that of course contain catnip. The owner gives you a takeout box and you fill it with the toys of your choice. She had veggies, mushrooms, hearts, eyeballs, bees, round balls, fruit- all adorable! since my house is very spa like with shades of cream, gray and blues, I was excited to find so many options in these colors. My cat immediately began batting the ball around the minute I gave it to her! The nursery here is the biggest and best I've ever seen at a Farmers Market. The variety of plants was impressive and all were healthy and thriving. they also sell sun catchers, perfect for inside a window or in your garden - every garden deserves a bit of whimsy imo. Lots of food carts serving a variety of cuisines. some are within the market, several more line the street on the outside of the market. The gyros caught my attention, the scent of grilled lamb everywhere. it didn't disappoint! I ordered the mega traditional which had extra meat so I could have half for lunch and the other half for dinner. Love that this market is open both Saturday and Sundays until 3pm April through October. Saturday they open at 9am; on Sundays they open at 10am. Parking is on the street, use parking kitty to pay. On a Sunday at 12:30 I had no issue finding a spot close by.

He also sells at the Camas Farmer's Market and we always try to support them when we can. You can find special events during the holidays - and the Hayride is definitely a hit with all the toddlers! Red Havens are sweet and Reliance are on the tarter side. It's a smaller farm but there were plenty of trees full of ripe peaches. The peaches were very fragile so it's important to be selective on which ones you pull off the branch. It's $3 per pound and we got a boxful for around $22. We also got a huge zucchini for only .50! I love the idea of farm to table and enjoy supporting local businesses which made Douglas Farms a perfect pit stop while driving through Sauvie Island.

We ended up going with 2 little ones as it seemed like a good idea as we werent planning on leaving it & had to carry it around. We then got hungry & opted for some Mexican corn, hot dog, & apple cider donuts. Everything was so yummy, especially the donuts. The line was so long, but worth the wait as they were made fresh. Im so glad we came prepared for walking in the patch. We wore our rubber boots which then proceeded to be caked in mud at the bottom. This market runs just a few blocks and some side streets- but has a diverse mix of vendors and products: cheeses, the obvious blooming plants, fresh produce of course, cookies+baked goods to munch on as you stroll or take with you, mushrooms- the cooking kind, not the trip type, chai tea, etc. I had a great time when my daughter brought me here. We managed to get some mushrooms to cook at her apartment (didn't get around to it)- but I'm sure they'll taste fabulous with some butter! Vendors all have a super friendly energy and the feel here is totally upbeat. This was a terrific way to celebrate and support local farmers, vendors and artisans who offer their unique products.
