I am surprised by the poor reviews. However, everyone has different experiences and some get burned along the way. If i were Russell's, I would hire someone to help with customer retention and be very careful on hounding people. Holding people to contracts is a bit much. Contracts are for companies that have retention issues past 6mo. If you want to stand head and shoulders above the rest, you must demand high quality service to your customers at no additional cost and your company will grow. Maybe learn why Nordstrom's became so successful. The book is called "The Nordstrom Way". If you believe your company is great, stand behind it. Minus one star for the cost of service and holding people to pay out full contract. This is not how you treat people and it ends up hurting your company with negative reviews. My parents have a termite system that gives once per year service. The scheduling is frustrating. My Mother (elderly) schedules appointments for that and they repeatedly contact her to move up the date. She schedules based on her very full medical calendar and picks dates that are good for her. They don't seem interested in what is convenient for my parents but only what is convenient for them. They're pushy with her and she doesn't like it. They also call my father to try and get the dates they want, and go around her. It's frustrating to me as I'm trying to look out for them. If it was up to me, I'd go with Cooks. Had friends use this company and the way they treat their customers is incomprehensible so I had to post their experience. It's not a local company like what they advertise; they've been purchased out in the recent years. They also stated that they don't have enough employees to oversee all their clients monthly, so if something falls through "it's not their fault" because they cannot check on everything all the time. My friend also dealt with Russell's Pest control trucks (different from the small vans that would service the home) stopping in front of their property behind a tree to trying not be seen and just sit there. This was after services were discontinued. The family double checked with the neighborhood page and within in their small neighborhood no one else serviced with them anymore because of dishonesty as well. It definitely scared my friend why they would randomly park outside their home for no apparent reason and they started filing them and taking pictures. read more

Read the reviews and stay as far from this company as you can. As others have stated, I would give zero stars if it were an option. Twice now they have said someone came and serviced our home and no one had been here. I work from home as well as have cameras. We are currently moving and our house has been sold. They won't terminate our contract. They informed me that I could pay a cancellation fee, so I inquired what it was. You are never going to believe what I was told. It is the amount left owing on the contract! That isn't a cancellation fee, that is paying out the contract. I am not recommending them to the buyers or anyone else for that matter. I have informed them, in writing they are NOT to step foot on my property or renew my contract. I am extremely disappointed with them. read more

Aggressively marketed an outrageously expensive termite protection plan to us as new home owners. Something that we never signed up for or wanted from them. Would not stop calling my phone or mailing me scary looking "official" mail at my new address. After a year of living at my new home they show up at 7:50AM on a Saturday to tell me they want their in-ground bins back that they placed around my home before purchase, all the whole still trying to sell me on a protection plan. Idiotic. In an effort to hopefully make them go away for good, I agreed to let the unknowing technician come onto my property and take the plastic poison holders. I realize he had no clue of our past interactions with the company. It's a shame they have such aggressive and poorly thought out procedures in place with only one goal in mind; making more money. They very clearly do not care about the customer or potential customer. What a terrible way to do business. Even if I have termites one day I would never use this company. read more

I have used Russell's for years and have nothing but good things to say about them. I bought an old cabin last year and had a roach problem. They came weekly until it was taken care of. Any time I call them, I get the service I need and if they have to come back, they gladly do. Over the last decade of using their services at 2 locations, I have not experienced one negative with this company. read more

I would not advise anyone to use Russ pest control, only issue I have is ants. Sense starting with Russ pest control with them none had gotten into my house for maybe 2 months , started coming again. I was told they come out every 2 weeks to correct the issue. That's a lie. Also have 15ish ant hills in my yard and my son who is only a year old keeps getting eaten up. There "formula" doesn't do the job. But of course can't get out of paying with them till the end of my contract or I'd have to pay the rest upfront. I would leave zero stars if that was an option. Poor communication and lack of accountability from sales woman, scheduler, and management. Not a pleasant experience! Further and perhaps more concerning, I have since contacted 2 other pest control companies and both advised the system proposed by Russell's is not the most appropriate treatment for my house. They keep changing the appointments. Last Oct 2020 the tech came unannounced to the house without an appointment. I live by myself and there has been prowlers in the area. So I was concerned about my safety. They terminated my services due to me saying give me a time frame they are showing so I would not be afraid and be ready to call the law. read more

I have nothing bad to say about Russell's pest control. I Have used them all season after another company failed. Dead bodies everywhere! My communication with the company has been great and fast. I have called them once to come and spray again for a one mosquito that bit me. It was due for spraying the following two weeks. But they came out a couple days later. read more

Terrible service, this company is a sham! Said our house was termite free! We got a second opinion due to inspector being here no more than 5 mins and guess what Orkin pest control found a whole mound of termites underneath our flooring that Russell pest control said was termite free! Also, the inspector left our gate open and let our dog loose so we spent most of the morning searching for our dog! What a careless and bogus company Russell pest control is......don't use Russell pest control Period!....absolutely ridiculous and a complete sham! read more

We hired Russells to deal with our ant problem and also decided to install termite bait traps. After repeated trips to our home to unsuccessfully treat the ants, we decided to cancel the treatments at the end of the contract. They would not accept the cancellation and kept telling us that we had to call back the next month. This happened three times. By then our frustration was so high we cancelled all services. Nothing was said, but about three weeks later they came to remove the bait from our termite traps. We were never informed and when asked about why they were doing it they said we were not entitled to the continued protection it afforded and they threw the bait away. The Bed Bug treatment itself was effective. almost 2 months later there are no signs of bed bugs. The problem is that when they did the treatment, one of their technician's stole a firearm from my home. No one at Russell's seems to care. I filed a police report, but there are no witnesses, so not much can be done. And because i signed a piece of paper saying i removed all such items from my house, i have no recourse. It was a mistake that i left it behind, but apparently because i signed a piece of paper, Russell's Pest Control Technicians are free to steal from me? also missing was a cheap necklace. apparently it looked real, so they took that too. Again, no one at Russell's Pest Control seems to care being as they already got their thousands of dollars for the treatment. read more

THINK TWICE! We hired Russell's to do a simple termite letter for a new home purchase. Though they said the house was termite free, they would not give us a "clean" termite letter. Instead they checked "recommended preventative treatment" because they said that the house had never been treated so that they HAD to recommend termite treatment. It's basically the equivalent of being blackmailed into treatment. I've used a least 6-10 pest control companies in the last 30 years to do these simple letters on various homes. I've never had someone try to blackmail me for a service. Pay attention to Jeff F. They are in it for the money. Never offered to refund mine. TOTAL UNMITIGATED FRAUD! read more

Russell's pest control has been extremely responsive in eradicating bug problems at our cabin on Norris Lake.

This company apparently performed some sort of pest control service on the property that we now own. It seems that the builder allowed them to do some soil treatment before we closed on the purchase of our house last year. Ever since, this company will not leave us alone. We started receiving bills shortly after moving in demanding payment to continue the service. When we did not send payment, they started sending people out to our property to harass us. I have told them repeatedly that we are not interested in their service and to remove us from their list. We never signed up for their service and we sure as heck don't want it now, yet they continue to harass us. Just a little while ago, someone came out to our house again and knocked on our door. These people will not go away. If this company doesn't stop harassing us, I may have to look into a restraining order (can you do that for a company?). Please avoid this company at all costs or else you may find yourself endlessly harassed by them too. read more
