Here was my mistake, I took her to a home stylist (that I had been to a few times before for layers added to my hair), I went in assuming she knew what she was doing....don't ever assume! After telling her what she was wanting and showing her an inspo pic, she ended up with an extremely uneven cut and awful yellow chunky highlights on the top few layers of hair. $200 later and my daughter was extremely unhappy. Not only did her color look ridiculous but she was left with uneven hair and length taken off in just parts. She specifically said she did not want length taken off except for the reasonable amount when trimming ends. She was also given layers and did not ask for those either. I was there to listen and witness what my daughter asked for. I am so thankful to have come across Kayla, she turned a mess into something my daughter is really happy with. Although she's missing some length and now has layers, Kayla turned that chop shop mess into something my daughter was happy with. Let's talk about color...I genuinely don't know how the stylist thought what she did was remotely close to the inspo pic. Not to mention she applied lightener so unevenly, which you can see in the photos. Kayla was able to correct the mess and created soft dimension throughout her hair, not just the top. I reached out to Kayla on messenger around 9am the morning after her hair was messed up. She responded immediately and asked if we were able to come in at 11:30 that day. By the way, Kayla was off that day but she didn't hesitate to offer to come in and correct this mess for my daughter. Kayla's knowledge for color was very impressive and she explains things to you up front. Our experience with Kayla in a nutshell...she was a hair savior with wonderful friendly communication with above and beyond service. She mentioned she trains all her stylists, so who ever you end up booking with I'm thinking you're in very good hands. It was a pretty extensive day at the salon, but I must say it didn't feel like we spent as much time there as we did. It was a pleasant experience and we walked out with my daughter having a huge smile on her face vs the tears she had the day before. Chloe styled her hair once Kayla was done doing her magic. That girl can create a beautiful soft curl! Unfortunately I wasted $200 to have my kids hair royally screwed up. But the positive outcome of all this was we found our hair girl and we all know how big of a deal that is! Also to add, Kayla reached out to me later that evening to check in and see if my daughter was still happy. I have also reached out to Kayla a couple times with some questions regarding what products to use. She has responded right away and has no problem answering any questions you may have. Honestly I feel like I'm texting with a friend, that's how friendly and comfortable she is. We appreciate her so much and won't hesitate to suggest Kayla and her salon! Unfortunately, the haircut I received was not at all what I requested, despite showing reference photos. The cut was extremely choppy, with uneven layers throughout. It was the first haircut I've ever been truly unhappy with, and I am unable to even wear my hair down due to the unevenness and disconnect throughout the cut. I do want to recognize the salon owner for how they handled the situation. They were understanding, offered to have another stylist correct my haircut, and also refunded the cost of the service. I truly appreciate their professionalism and commitment to making things right. While I'm disappointed with the haircut I received from Ericka, I appreciate the owner's excellent customer service and willingness to stand behind their business.
