I have a ton of thick, unruly, curly hair so my first few tries there weren't great but when I booked with Mimi that all changed. The women here are very sweet but I think many of them lack experience working with hair. I came in for a root touch up and I left with my roots extremely darker than the rest of my hair. The stylist did not bring the color down at all, and when I brought that up, she seemed unsure of the best way to do that. I left disappointed but did not want to return for them to fix it because it seems their work in general is not that great, no matter which of the stylists do it. Not sure how the stylist let me walk out of the salon with a totally different shade on my roots, which we both clearly saw. I was excited to try a new salon and support them, but was unfortunately disappointed. read more

Mimi was my stylist and kept my hair super healthy and the exact color that matched my skin tone and look I was going for. I have moved from Los Angeles and gone to best salons there and nothing compares to how amazing Mimi did my hair. She is so knowledgeable about colors and gave me exactly what I was looking for. It was important for me to not damage my hair and she was able to give me what I was looking for without causing breakage. My hair feels great and looks shiny and healthy and the exact color I wanted. Mimi is also amazing at styling... my hair usually doesn't hold well with waves and it's the next day and my hair looks the same as the first day. She listened to my concerns - mom of three, so I need low maintenance, but love being blonde - and suggested a more "rooty" blonde, and follow up with blonde maintenance appointments for face-framing highlights. If you have medium or thicker hair, I don't recommend getting your hair cut by Courtney at Wildwood Hair. I've never had an issue before with any other stylist or salon, however she simply botched the cut, not seeming to know the basics of cutting hair or layering at the bottom. Save yourself the money and the stress of dealing with a bad haircut! I don't think they have experienced stylists, however they charge on the higher end and are very inflexible with enforcing their policies. Most importantly, as others have mentioned, they lack good customer service and are very hard to reach, which is quite rare for a hair salon. I am not a very picky person and went there with an open heart, but unfortunately, in my experience, they offer low quality services at Scottsdale prices. I learned my lesson the hard way, wasting $100 plus and having to now deal with the end of my hair looking uneven, like a broomstick, because of a very blunt, bulky haircut, which lacks any layers. The simplest, most unrefined haircut one could imagine, that shouldn't cost more than $30 and would only work for very fine hair. Very disappointing experience! I would definitely not recommend this salon. read more

From booking the appointment to asking for advice of dry shampoo and checking out the whole process was easy, smooth and the staff were all super nice and helpful and definitely masters of their craft! Therese the receptionist was so nice and able to help me set up my appointment over the phone and make sure I had all the details I needed. Absolutely loved my experience at Wildwood. My stylist, Chelsea, was so attentive during my appointment and I loved my final color. This salon is by far my favorite. I have been to many salons and the hair washing station is the most comfortable experience. My neck and head were actually comfortable. The heat lamps are also wonderful. I was seated facing Gilmore Girls on the tv while under the heat lamps and offered a water. The heat lamp is not excessive and there is no noise or hot air blowing on me. I would highly recommend. I chose this salon because I was new in town and looking for a place that sold Kevin Murphy hair products , knowing that meant there's was a good chance this group would be up to current standards on the latest techniques. It was super cute which is a plus but not necessary. What is necessary to me, aside from finding a good hair stylist & colorist is the culture /vibe. I've only been in a handful,of times and the gal does a great job, but I won't go back. It's SOOOOO uncomfortable being there. The majority of the stylist gossip incessantly and they aren't shy about . I know this happens a lot in salons, I'm not naive. However, it so uncomfortable to hear this for 2 hours, all the negativity and back biting. As a pastors wife for,over 30, hears, to hear people claim to be Christ followers talk about each other and people,at their church was heart wrenching to me. No exaggerating here, I'm;eave with a pit in my stomach. Some of them are young, but the owner sets a horrible example. Her behavior is passive aggressive towards the stylists and she's pushy towards clients about buying merch. I moved on and my new place has all the criteria that makes for such a pleasant experience.
