Relocated here a little over a month ago, I've been basing where I get my new "services" by Yelp reviews. My hair is easy and yet difficult. Lots of body, but thick shafts of hair, so only specific cutting tools work for it! My color is also a custom color I brought with me from Florida. Not only did Randi match the color nearly perfect the very first time, her talent in my hair style was spot on as well! I had just moved to the area and needed a nail salon. I was pretty specific on my requirements. Let's just say I refuse to go to the places found in your shopping malls & on every corner. I came across Avare, walked in, made an appt. for same day, met Heidi and loved her. Prices are the same as what I paid back in Chicago. She is great! And I had the same nail tech, a friend of mine, for over 8 years so I was happy to find Heidi and her services so quickly. I have now been back a couple times. When I called to make the appointment, I specified that I needed someone who was good with curly hair. They recommended Angie and I went with their referral. On my appointment day, I explained to her what I wanted in terms of a cut and highlights. She listened and did an amazing job. I will definitely be making Angie my permanent stylist! read more

I moved to AZ a few months ago and was in bad need of a haircut. I also promised my daughter-in-law a pedicure. I saw the Avare' Salon sign while driving down Crismon so I decided to check it out on the internet. The prices were very reasonable and they did both hair and nails. Pam was very accomodating in getting us appointments at the same time. The place was very clean and Pam and Jodi were very friendly, fun and helpful. Called and was able to get in next day. Reading these reviews made my choice to go there. I'm new to the area so Yelp helped me find this place. I don't color or have very hard hair to do (short a-line cut). My stylist whom I had at Great Clips for 11 years did the same job. I wasn't overall happy about getting my hair done there when I left. $42 for something I could have paid $12 for just doesn't seem right. All I can say is my hair was cleaned up in the back, but overall, you really couldn't tell I got a hair cut. I guess I had high hopes for this place and now, I'll have to keep searching... read more

I had a pretty good haircut but overall I wouldn't describe my experience as "delightful." After seeing the reviews I had higher hopes. This was my first time here and I might try another hairdresser but I'll likely try other places first. First, my hairdresser was 10 minutes late to work. While she thanked me for my patience, she never apologized. I could see her stopping to chat with another customer while I waited at the front. Anyway, she seemed uncomfortable with hair style I wanted. My hair had grown out about 2 in. but it was just a bob with the back shorter than the front. She took like 45 minutes to cut it, meanwhile my hair was starting to dry and when she finally got to styling it, it was lying flat with little body. I went home and washed it again and styled it myself. It looked better. Is this place better than other low cost chain stores - yes. It wasn't a bad haircut, just ok and I wasn't overly impressed by the professionalism of my stylist. read more

I was so nervous because I had never had anything like that before. It surpassed any expectation I had prior to going. I couldn't believe how comfortable Heidi Clanton made me feel. Decided to get a full set and pedicure before my 1 year anniversary trip to Europe with my husband. Needed something in my area, since we just moved. Looked online for a place to provide great work, and in my case today, accepted walk-ins. Saw this salon and was excited. Drove 20 minutes to get there, only to be told by a standoffish women upfront that there nail tech was book all day?? I was confused at this. If you do walk-ins, wouldn't you make sure you are fully staffed? Was very disappointed at this. But the real kicker was she didn't even offer me another day to come in.... Doesn't seem like they wanted a new customer. or maybe she did not get a chance to have her morning cup of coffee.... I was needing a new salon for my hair as well as nails, since we just moved. I'm very consistent with my appointments, and would have booked out a few months worth with them. Now I'm completely turned off to the idea of going back. Don't waste your time. read more
