So we got there at 530. Music not until 645 7 or so. So we drank and ate, maybe that was their intention. The burgers. Not so good and too much $$ drinks? Meh. Fine. Cornhole great. Im just saying dont hurry to get off work. Prepare to pay for parking 10$. And eat before you come and enjoy yourself.

Prior to last night's concert for Rodney Atkins, I tried to find information about the venue so…read morethat I could decide if it was going to be a fun time. Specifically in regards to seating, because I have some physical issues that can cause problems with balance and joint issues. It was terrible to try and find information out about the venue online. My husband drove out fire to the event to look around, and he said they had handicapped seating that wouldn't require me to climb up into bleachers. We thought that it wouldn't be a problem, but when we got there, the seating was behind the sound system people, so you couldn't see anything. The chairs were stools, they were metal stools that were the most uncomfortable seating arrangement I've ever experienced for a venue. We were right out in the sun, and it was 95 degrees out. No fans, no misters, nothing to try and keep people comfortable. My husband said it was typical because the company wanted people to get hot and drink more. That they wanted people to be uncomfortable with the seating arrangement so that they would go out on the dance floor and cause themselves to get more thirsty. But what about the main entertainment? That's a joke. I do enjoy Rodney Atkins' music, but I didn't enjoy the show last night. I don't know if it was his fault or the venue's fault, but it was advertised to start at 5:30, which we understood that's there would be a starting band first. Rodney Atkins did not come out until after 9 p.m. So we sat in the heat from 5:30 p.m. to about 10 p.m., when we finally decided to wrap it up because it wasn't worth it. The performer did not offer an introduction or an apology for being late. My husband made the observation that it was just a job to him and it wasn't about entertainment. The music was too loud for the area, and I realized that a professional band like Rodney Atkins usually plays to a large group, but they're professionals. They should have been able to accommodate. And there was a lot of feedback, which no one enjoys hearing loud squealing. There wasn't that type of problem with the opening band, so there shouldn't have been that type of problem with Rodney Atkins' group. Then, to top it all off, when we left and were getting on our motorcycle, the person watching the gate, so to speak, came running out to tell us that we couldn't park there. We were just pulling the motorcycle over to where it was flat so I could get on it. We were both putting our helmets on. The bike was running. My husband was putting his gloves on. Sometimes people just don't have common sense. That was my first and last experience with that venue.

Then headed in for dinner & drinks. Kristie was our Bartender.... What a delightful lady. Full of conversation and just plain pleasant to talk with. Tonight's special was fish & chips. Nice & crispy. The land is uniquely private. The entrance so obscure that you will drive by and miss it except for a Welcome sign on wedding days. This is a good thing to keep your event private and to maximize the space. Once you enter from the street the wedding names will be on a sign with the cottage in the background. You will head down a one car driveway to the back and park in a gravel parking lot. The back lawn is a front to a creek and lots of trees. Wedding ceremonies often take place here. When you are on the grounds you cannot see the surrounding farm, the vegetable market or anything else in most places. Moving toward the cottage is the pot o potty for guests & staff (construction style!!!) , the parking lot and then large tent. Walk through another area of grass. Next is another smaller tent outside the cottage and a couple of grass lawns. Again, tents may vary due to time of year etc. They usual house the DJ and dance floor for your event or it could house the tables and chairs and dance floor. The trees and shrubbery, again, are so pretty. The little pond is also good looking. Weddings are so different depending especially on your wedding coordinator and also the vendors you hire. Pay special attention to where the sun is depending on your time of day & time of year and plan the set up of chairs, tables, eating areas not to mention the flowers accordingly. The ceremony and eating is often set up in the sun so be aware depending on the time of year. Make sure to remember to think of your guests and warn them of the need to wear flat shoes or chunk heels or wedges to traverse the grounds parking lot and porta potty. Let them know if you will let them in the cottage to use the restroom or to get out of the sun or if it is off limits. Again, the wedding coordinator may make this decision but be aware it alters the guest experience. Their website shows a plethora of photos of the grounds so check it out for an idea of offerings and other events. But they don't do it justice. It is more beautiful in person. The look of the event and pictures are dependent on what you choose catering wise, coordinator wise, clothing wise and whom your vendor is for supplies. It can be as informal or formal as you wish. The sky is the limit. The Cottage at Riverbend gets 5 stars for just the gorgeous, serene, enchanting outdoor space that it is to hold your wedding or event. There are plenty of areas for guests and wedding party to roam and lots of greenery for pictures to be taken with. Lots of memories to be made here

First, as you arrive to the venue, directly next to it, on the property is construction, EEK! This was not expected as she had said it would be complete in April 2026. You have to walk down a very steep trail to get to the wedding site itself. Karen made things difficult for the wedding party, at one point raising her voice and yelling. She was going through items in the bride's dressing room. The kitchen area is old, really old. Think green avocado stove old. There were no towels, paper towels etc for clean up or as you go taking care of things. There was no air conditioning. The reception area was stifling and hot. You walk down the stairs to the basement to get to the kitchen and dressing areas. However, it's dark without light and the carpet was very dark. Definitely a tripping/falling hazard. Lastly, we had to pack the trash out with us! Insane! We actually had to haul trash out with our cars/trucks. Karen's behavior and demeanor sadly made everyone uncomfortable, causing the reception to end early, my grandson didn't get his mother/son dance, nor did his sweet wife get her father/daughter dance. The fact that Karen had our sweet bride in tears is just plain awful. I would never recommend the Hidden Pearl to anyone. Too bad, I have 17 grandchildren, she could've had a customer for life.

Here are a few things you should know about before having your wedding here. You are required to haul off your own trash, there is no ac in the reception room so when you have 100 guests it gets extremely hot in there, if the bridesmaids are planning on getting ready at the venue they will need to bring their own mirrors and lights as it is very dark in the basement. Make sure to watch for ticks from the trees above where you have your ceremony. Lastly, i want to talk about the owner... KAREN. Lets just say she really lived up to the Karen stereotype. She was extremely rude and unprofessional throughout the entire night. She failed to let us know that we needed to haul off our own trash. She was snappy and rude with our bridal party and guests. I keep seeing reviews about how nice and helpful she was but we got the complete opposite. The only thing she set up was the chairs for the ceremony and the arch. She didn't help with cleanup at all and was nowhere to be found when we needed something. Don't expect to be able to eat while getting ready because that seemed to be an issue with her. She had my wife crying for almost the entire night and made us feel very unwelcome which led to us leaving early. Make sure to lock up your things because she will snoop through the rooms downstairs while you guys are away. You might want to ask her how to flush the toilet because shes too cheap to fix it. It was very disappointing to have our wedding night ruined by the person that's supposed to make it amazing. Its a very budget friendly option for a reason

Every bite was bursting with authentic flavor from the perfectly seasoned lamb-beef skewers served over fluffy rice to the creamy tzatziki and smoky eggplant dip on the side. The grape leaves were a standout: tender, juicy, and generously stuffed with savory meat. We started with the mezze platter, which was more than enough to share and a great introduction for my family, who aren't too familiar with Greek cuisine. The gyro was juicy and full of flavor, and the lemon-chicken soup was bright, comforting, and delicious. And then there's Nathan, truly the heart of the experience. Charming and warm, approachable and fun; down one of the funniest and most engaging host-server combos we've ever encountered. He made us feel like regulars from the moment we walked in and had us laughing through the whole meal. The charming decor only adds to the experience it's warm, inviting, and filled with character. I don't live in the area, but we were so impressed I already know we'll be coming back.
