I have 2 grandsons going for piano lessons for a little over 11/2 years now on a weekly basis. When I bought a keyboard for christmas, I waited to see if they would take an interest without forcing it on them. They started playing by ear and watching videos, but I wanted them to learn how to "read music" I also wanted them to focus on something more constructive than video games etc. I am amazed at the progress they've achieved and want to acknowledge their teacher, Jordan for his patience and encouragement. 2 teenagers with ADHD that lacked confidence and would be easily discouraged are continuing to learn and enjoying playing the piano by reading music and placing their fingers correctly on the keys. Went in to "explore" buying a bass. Very elementary started playing, so wanted to test models, and get some expert advice. Nick was great! Took time to answer questions, and gave insightful options that were tailored to beginner's abilities. Really outstanding service, thoughtful consideration and good options at affordable prices. I went in looking to purchase a lefty ukulele, not knowing they're all made for righties. Charlie was so helpful and showed me, as a beginner, which uke would be best for me. He offered to restring it for me and create a lefty ukulele. I am so grateful! I absolutely love it. We have been patronizing Rustic for the last 10 years.   While playing at church on Good Friday night, my daughter text me that there was something wrong with the G string on her violin.  Not knowing whether it required repair or replacement, I quickly called Rustic on Forest Ave to see if they could help us the next morning when they opened at 11:00AM, as my daughter had rehearsal at church beginning the same time.  I explained the situation and the man told me to come right in first thing.  My daughter and I arrived at Rustic the next morning a few minutes before 11:00AM. The gentleman to whom I had spoken the night before was  sitting at the counter, ready and waiting for us, with a G string, tuner, and tool.  Without missing a beat, he adjusted the G string, along with all the other strings, and indicated that the  strings were in good condition.  He then tuned her whole violin for us, all with a smile, and without trying to sell us unnecessary items.   He had us on our way within 5 minutes with a beautiful sounding violin.  Many many thanks to this young man for assisting us so willingly, efficiently, and kindly.  Will definitely keep going back for all our music needs!! read more

I took guitar lessons here for a year or so. Charlie is extremely personable and helpful with all of your needs. They have a great selection of guitars, drums, etc. If they do not carry what you are looking for they can get it for you and match most prices out there. There is no need to go to a conglomerate like guitar center when you get better service on a personal level from this amazing shop. this place is amazing! all the people who work at rustic are all so happy to help out and are really nice. ive been taking lessons there for 2 months already and i feel like ive known them for much more than that. everyone that works there help out in every way possible, theyll give you tips and help you out with any questions you may have. And the electric guitar teacher Keith is a great teacher and a great guy aswell. the store owner charlie is great, hes helped me with many thinks ranging from basic things like how to change my strings to thinks like helping me pick out what equipment is best for me. Another guy that is great is ray, hes nice and really helped me better understand the amps there... overall everyone there is really talented and really nice, i only named the people i have spent time talking to but im 100% sure that everyone there is amazing aswell! But most importantly the vibe there is great, you can tell theyre happy to be there and happy to help out anyone that may need help! If you need a music store to go to, you got the best one on the island right here!
