Having had pizza in Philly, NY and Boston my hands down favorite has always been Di Fara's in Brooklyn and everything else was second, however now that I've had pizza in PR at Rustica it has securely lock itself in second. The chef owner is from Philadelphia and he even had time to reminisce with me about his old stomping grounds. Everything is done fresh and with love and detail. Don't just go for the pizza. Their bruschetta and mozzarella salad is exceptional. Their pizza (we had the Grandmother) is thin crispy and piping hot. My mouth hasn't been the same since the first bite but that's exactly how I like it. Wonderful service and the place is large enough to accommodate families. Just walking the Plaza is fajardo and found this great Pizzeria "Rustica". The lunch we had was great. A great Salad and an awesome Italian sausage hoagie. The place is clean, cozy and with good prices. Will go back for sure. Pizza on menu sound great for the next time. read more

Tired of the food at the conquistador resort? Come here for some great pizza, delicious bruschetta and wonderful service. We saw this place while driving back from el yunque and so glad we went back to try it. If you have a car and are in the Fajardo area you need to come eat here. Best value in the area finally didn't feel like I was over paying for something. The pizzas are 6 pretty big slices and are big enough to share between 2 ppl. We ordered 2 pizzas, the bianco verde which had ricotta and a white sauce with pesto and spinach (swapped out the spinach for mushrooms). We also ordered the sausage and peppers pizza, both were super good. They have been open 3.5 months and I hope they keep growing, it is well deserved. read more

Staying at El conquistador and the kids were craving pizza. Resort pizza is mediocre at best so we found this gem not to far from resort. Pizza was amazing. We had two pies one cheese for the kids and we had pineapple and ham pizza. Can't say enough about this place. Prices were super reasonable for drinks as well we stayed for extra time as it was a rainy night and had several more cold ones before returning to the overpriced drinks at the resort. If you are in the area this is a MUST go if you are looking for great pizza at a reasonable price. read more

Our 6th day on the island and after taking the bioluminescent kayaking tour, we were hungry. Through perserverance, we were able to find it, as the GPS had been sending us onto one way streets, the wrong way. We walked in and took a table, among the sparse patrons. The waitress greeted us, promptly and took our drink order. She returned with our drinks, taking our food order, which was comprised of buffalo style wings and 3 pizzas - one white, one Pomodoro, and one pepperoni. The wings came out first, delivered by Mark, the owner, and I knew, from their aroma, that they would be exceptional. I was not disappointed - the wings were plump and juicy and the sauce was out of this world!! And the bleu cheese that came for dipping was REAL bleu cheese! The pizzas came out one at a time and each one tasted better than the next. The prices were good, the server was attentive, the owner was the best and the food was exceptionally delicious. I'm definitely going back, before we leave! read more

I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed Roebling Pizza here in Brooklyn, NY. It's the best pizza you will ever eat! The owner has relocated to Puerto Rico and opened "Rustica". The pizza continues to be, by far, the best pizza I've ever had! The Bianco Verde and the traditional Pepperoni are delicious! It's nice to know that you can have a REAL, delicious, New York-Style pizza in Puerto Rico! Came here during a weekday with a group of friends bc no one felt like cooking. Very adorable for a pizza spot; had an open kitchen, nice, big, wood table and even a book shelf. We ordered the Grandma pizza, seemed to be the healthiest option with Mozzarella, tomatoes, & basil. Let me tell you, I'm a New York pizza kind of gal but this one was pretty good. No, you do not get the big New York slice with lots of cheese and tomato sauce but the pizza was delicious. I ate everything including the crust. If a pizza isn't good I usually nibble on it a bit then toss out the crust. the pizza (crust) was Baked to perfection; Crunchy outside yet soft in the middle. Based on reviews, I had much higher expectations for this place. Bruschetta was good...I will give them that. Pizza was just ok. Not something I will come back for. Our server messed up the order, even after we went over it with her (it was not complicated, mushrooms on half, onions on other half and it came with both on one half). Took forever for pizza to arrive. Which is fine, people make mistakes and we didn't make them redo it but then she overcharged us for HER error, and when we questioned her about it, she said she would check with owner. She came back and said, sorry, that's how we charge. I was done at that point-just give me my change and let us go. Then as we are leaving the owner comes up and says something, and hands us $3 for the overcharge (warrants 2 stars) which was cool but again...I was done. But what really turned me off (and I am admittedly a germiphobe), is that they offer freshly shaved Parmesan, which the server handles with her bare hands. So she is cleaning tables, handling money, cleaning up trash, and using these same unwashed hands to grab the small block of Parmesan cheese that is stored on the counter under a napkin and shaves it for you. Gross. They make a handy little utensil for that. Had great food experiences while visiting PR and hate that we wasted a meal here. read more

Stopped here for some pizza after the ferry ride from Cuelbra before going back to San Juan area. The pizza was delicious!!!! If I was staying in Fajardo I would have probably visited more then once. The owner (whom I didn't catch his name) made us a great pie and had excellent customer service. There is no wonder why he is in the business of doing what he is doing.
