My first choice for dinner for the evening was to try the famous Newfoundland Fish and Chips chain Ches's. However the location nearby was closed. So onto plan B. I came by here looked at the menu and decided hey, what the hell. Can't be that bad? Asking what their specialty was they mentioned the breakfast (served all day) with a. Newfie special toutons. However it was 8PM at night and I really didn't feel like eggs and bacon. My server also mentioned the turkey dinner was popular also. Something about a roast turkey dinner in Newfoundland. It's really good comfort food. It's also called a Jiggs dinner and served in a hearty serving. With this I decided to have some fish cakes also. My motto for when I travel is "When in Rome......eat like a Roman"! I try to eat local dishes as I enjoy different food and am one who prefers variety. Starting off with a Caesar salad it was bottled dressing but was hearty and decent. Nothing earth shattering but okay. Next the fish cakes came out like big hockey pucks. Very crispy on the outside and nice potato and flaky on the inside. I must admit one of the better fish cakes I've had in a while! The hot turkey sandwich dinner was hearty delicious and really like a Sunday dinner! A good serving of some dark meat some white meat with a nice brown gravy. I don't think you can go wrong with having Turkey dinner or a turkey sandwich on the rock! This place may have a cheaper decor vibe to it but overall dinner was a solid 3.5/5. Decor is a bit tacky. Like you are in a bar in Weyburn, Saskatchewan or Lloydminister Alberta but the food was decent. I wouldn't hesitate to come back. read more

I don't know what happened, but sometime within the last few months, this place has gotten so much better in terms of both service and food quality. I've been a regular here for years, and the food/service has been good, then bad, and now it's better than it's ever been. It does seem like there was a change in prices, however. I highly suggest the French toast (did I mention all-day breakfast?) It'd also be nice if they were open overnight on the weekends again! read more

I recently had my first visit to Rustlers. The atmosphere is quite dingy there. Fortunately for us, the lack of atmosphere was well made up for in service and taste. Our server was a very friendly girl who was just full of smiles! She was very friendly, fast and attentive. Following her recommendation, I ordered the Mustang Burger with bacon and chive mashed potato, and my girlfriend ordered the Chicken Burger with home fries. The mustang burger was so delicious, Rustler's could give the Wendy's (in the same plaza) a run for their money! My friend's chicken burger was hand-breaded with spices and she was raving. Her side fries were just like Ziggy Peelgood's, sooo yummy! The portions we received were very large and we had no room for desert. I highly recommend their burgers and will definitely be back soon. Also, they feature BOGO wings every night! ;) We expressed our gratitude for the tasty meals to our server. This place was terrible. I used to enjoy eating here years ago. And am so appalled today that i even installed. Signed up and had to bear with the yelp app yo review the place. The food was not fresh all store bought. Instant potatoes with imitation bacon pieces Frozen no frills vegetables. The same i have at home. The "stuffed chicken breast" was the same processed ones you see on sale constantly at Dominion. The service was cold and unfriendly. The waiter spilled my drink and canned gravy on the table she slapped it down so hard. Then as my wife was paying the staff were making rude comments about my autistic son. Yes directly in front of my wife. Apparently not the first time they have done this according to Facebook reviews. Avoid at all costs as your money could be more wisely spent elsewhere. read more

Quilty of food is so unpredictable, one day you'll have the best breakfast touton sandwich there is and the next time you'll get a dried out egg and bacon thats barely been on the pan. I always ask for my bacon well done or crispy and the cooks seem to find this request hard. I do not enjoy under cooked bacon and when you get an order to go and get home to see that the cook or server who placed the order neglected to note or care about requests made its very disappointing. read more

I am confused about this restaurant. it seems to me that it goes through ups and downs. Sometimes the food and service are great, sometimes not. For me, and for my small amount of disposable income, I want ta restaurant that I can count on to be good on a consistent basis. I only have so much money to spend on going out with friends; for us, its an occasion, not a regular event, so it is disappointing not to receive quality service. I have been here before and the food is excellent, the service exceptional, however, when I went a few days ago, myself and friends waited for almost 15 minutes before we were seated or even greeted in this relatively small place. Employees were obviously dealing with a crowd, but it seemed that they were avoiding even looking at us so they didn't have to deal with us. Once we were finally seated, we were told it would be an hour on our food. We didn't care because it was a lazy Sunday brunch with friends and we had plenty to chat about, so the wait wasn't a huge concern. We placed our orders and the food did take about an hour, but my order was incorrect. The waiter knew this and told me before he brought it out that it was wrong, but if I wanted to sent it back, it would be another 20 minutes. I'm not sure why a ranch chicken wrap would take 20 minutes, but I told him I would take it as is and pick off what I didn't want because we were short on time. When I got the plate, the wrap was warm, but drenched in ranch sauce and the potatoes were kind of cold, dry and honestly seemed kind of old. My friend ordered Jiggs dinner, which was dry (she never got her side of gravy). At the end of lunch, she declined to take almost a whole plate of leftovers because it was too dry. The service was unbelievably slow, the coffee was garbage, and the burger came so burnt it looked like a hockey puck. When I sent it back there was no apology she just said "thank you, I love yelling at cooks". She seemed very out to lunch and uncomfortable. Another burger came back in 3 or 4 minutes, making me think that they half cook them before hand. It was still over cooked. The bun was cold and soggy the onions were now missing and the mayo was miracle whip . To top it all off a 3 year old was throwing a massive temper tantrum for more than 25 minutes and his mother just sat their staring at him. At the end of my meal I was asked "how was everything today?" I responded "it was ok" in a pretty disapproving tone and I got "excellent" in return. I went to the front to pay with debit. She looks at the bill, swipes my card and hands me the debit machine. The total on the machine is $3.00 more than my bill. When I told her, she said "oh on the first bill we forgot to charge you for your coffee. First of all, you might want to say that instead of just handing back the machine with an adjusted amount. Second, with all the crap that went on, you think they could have let the coffee slide. Worst thing is, I worked in the service industry for 10 years and am incapable of leaving a bad tip, but not of leaving a bad review. read more

The all day breakfast is great. The prices have a little work to do to match the quantity you get but for a change its pretty good quality. In my opinion ,a lot of restaurants in this town serve sub standard food because they are the only show in town and they can get away with it. I have never had a chance to complain about quality here. read more

The first time I ate at rustlers was about a week ago. I order the beef dip, my boyfriend ordered a hamburger and daughter a kids pizza. Her food was re only thing edible. My beef sandwich had a awkward taste to it and seemed to be dipped in sugar and my boyfriend also complained the bbq sauce in his burger also tasted like a sugar bowl was knocked over into it. Our server never checked on us once and just handed my boyfriend the bill as he came back from the bathroom. When we went to pay it wasn't our server who took payment and we were not once asked how it was. I honesty took ONE bite of my sandwich and ended up only eating fries. As well as my boyfriend. He, being more polite than myself felt too bad to hurt the servers feelings and took the burger home only to toss it out right away. Complete waste of 50 dollars and We will NEVER return.
