I have eaten here several times. It is one of the few barbecue restaurants in town, and the food is always good. You order at the counter, and they bring your food once it is ready. You can also get food to go. I had sliced beef brisket, mac-n-cheese, and onion rings. I love the self serve soda fountain. The pulled pork and chicken are also good. I legit have been traveling to some of the most random places. Well today, I'm in Glenville visiting a few facilities for work. I asked a staff member for a recommendations on food and was told to try the Rusty Pig. I like barbecue so why not. When I got there, the parking lot was packed, so I know this must be a winner for the town. When I got in, it was a line of people ordering, but the line moved fast. I decided on the barbecue pulled chicken sandwich and fries. I also got a chewy cake. The food was pretty good. The chewy cake had a unique flavor of maple and a soft chewy interior. If you're in a wheelchair, or any disability device - NO. The company can't be bothered to follow disability regulations. Their handicapped spot is on the side of their building. IF... you can step up the 7in sidewalk then good for you, otherwise, you're forced to go behind the tightly parked cars in front of the building that can't see wheelchairs, or elderly patrons on walkers, until they're on top of them. That's NOT the safest, most direct pathway to the entrance per the ADA Standards for Accessible Design. Should you manage to get to the ramp for the sidewalk, BEWARE, they've covered the bottom of the ramp with a rug masking the broken bottom of the ramp. I started building speed in my wheelchair to get up the ramp, hit the - what I can only assume was at least a 1in difference between the bottom of the ramp and parking lot - and was nearly thrown from my chair. I used the "contact us" button from their website and had someone call me, but when I returned the call, she never called me back. The burgers are good - but not worth being backed over by cars that can't see you because the parking lot is too disorganized, or getting tossed from your mobility device because they can't afford to pave their ramp. Can't miss the road sign of Rusty Pig when driving through Glennville,GA. First of all, there are several driveways to enter into an easy and ample parking lot. If you don't want to get out of your vehicle there's a drive thru to order at. How convenient is that! My favorite thing to eat there is their SLICED brisket plate. It was moist and with a little fat on it to make it decadent delicious. It comes with one or two sides. On my last visit the friendly cashier suggested the mashed potato. I was pleasantly surprised how smooth and creamy it was. The restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly and attentive. Soda fountain are self-serve so you can sip on a cool beverage as you wait shortly for your order. There are high back booths as well as dining tables and chairs to to arrange, if need to, to accommodate groups of people. For you outdoor diners there's seating in the front of the restaurant. Rusty Pig is the perfect example of what a restaurant could be when they care. The food is always perfectly cooked, there are no "cold spots" or feeling that it was microwaved. The wait time is a bit long but that's okay for the amazing flavors they deliever. Even inside the restaurant is kept clean. The cups they give are never dirty or stained, unlike some restaurants that has hard water residue. Rusty Pig pick--up window has wonderful servicing. The employees are always nice towards my family and I. The only downside I would say is that they grilled chicken could use a bit more seasoning. Yes, you get the wonderful grilled flavors on the skin and meat but there's almost little to no seasoning. But, if you're in Glennville it is definitely worth the stop. read more

We caught them trying a new combo that included a grilled cheese on Texas toast and then stuffed with chopped pork in the middle. The other side of the combo is a bowl of their first rate stew. I had not been to the Rusty Pig for some time. Today I had a late lunch there. Things did not start very well, as the first three tables I went to were not clean! There were food fragments on the tables. They were not busy, as mine was the only occupied table. I ordered the sliced brisket, with potato salad and Brunswick stew as the sides. The portion was generous, and the meat was very tender. The down side was it was absolutely bland. The only flavor was the sauce I added. The potato salad was also very bland, but the Brunswick stew was good; not great but good. Disappointing! When my husband and I travel around the country, we look for good local barbecue places. This is now one of our favorites. My husband had the sliced beef brisket plate with a side salad. The beef was flavorful and moist. I had the pulled pork plate with cole slaw. It was also excellent. The prices were reasonable. The people were friendly. The reason I gave three stars is because for the price I pay the drinks should be included and some meals do not have generous enough portions. Other than the price it is pretty darn good BBQ. At first I did not like the sauce but they changed it up and added more flavor to it in recent years. Now this is not the thick BBQ sauce you get at some places. This sauce is thin and liquid like but don't let that deter you from its tastiness. All and all give it a try if you have the money in your pocket to spend. read more
