This is a diamond in the ruff. I stopped for a burger. It was steak night, so had to have a steak. It was one of the best steaks I have had and cheap. They ran out of baked potatoes, so Rusty's french fries were in order. They were fine. I am not a french fry guy, so judge for yourself. The steak was worth it! The staff was great! Secora was my server. She was wonderful,. They have a great server with her. They played country music. The songs I love. The interior was a western theme. Very nice! They also have an outside bar. Great place to bike to. The roads in the area are beautiful, winding, and hilly. The type of highway I enjoy to bike on. read more

I was out visiting my aunt and uncle in St. Anthony (population 34) when my family said they wanted the "$10 burger" from Rusty's. I guess it is under new management now. We ordered a fried pickle appetizer, three burgers, a New York Strip, and a Carmel roll to go. I got the steak (medium) with a side salad and baked beans. The steak was one of the best I've had in a long time. Good seasoning. I added mushrooms and onions, which also added some good flavor. The beans were pretty good too. However, I think they were different than the beans I got at Rusty's before. The fried pickles are spears with cheese in a wonton wrap. They tasted fine, but they weren't worth the price (3 for $10). I always get excited about hole in the wall restaurants, and my parents recommended this place when I was visiting North Dakota. I thought that the service was a little slow, and the waitress spilled water all over my father without offering any thing to compensate. Also they were slow in refilling drinks and my water glass. I probably would have given this place four stars, had it not been for the slow service...and they were not busy. The rest of my table ordered steak, which they said was delicious. I ordered the shrimp dinner. I could tell that the shrimp or hand breaded, the coleslaw was homemade, and the fries were slice differently than other restaurants, but thin and crispy as I like them. It was a delicious shrimp dinner. I thought their prices were a little high for a small town restaurant, but the food was high-quality. read more

We searched for miles and miles and were starting to get worried. Then, we happened upon Rusty's Saloon & Grill in the midst of nothing but cornfields, hay, and sunflowers. The clean bathrooms were exactly what we were looking for! The staff seemed nice and graciously let us use the facilities. It was pretty quiet at 4pm on a Tuesday, but everyone there seemed happy with their food and drinks. read more

This is the second time I have been here. The first time I ordered the German Burger and loved it. Today I ordered the ribeye. This is the first perfectly cooked steak I have had in North Dakota. It was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is great. My woman doesn't like the the tractor seats on the stools, but I liked them. Felt like I was in the hay field again. Went out for a steak dinner tonight. I had the 6 oz sirloin, which was delicious, perfectly cooked, nice grill marks. My husband ordered the 8 oz ribeye and ended up getting a bad piece of prime rib. He questioned if the cook read the ticket wrong and by accident got prime rib instead of a ribeye. He was assured that he got a ribeye. There were no grill marks at all. My husband has eaten hundreds of ribeye steaks....... this was not one them simply because it was prime rib. Neither of us likes prime rib. Ever. On a good note, the triple berry cobbler with ice cream was to die for! read more

This establishment is truly unique! With the taxidermy animals to the outdoor lounging, it is such a fun and enjoyable experience. The food and drinks are delicious. The apps could be larger for the price in my opinion. We ordered the jalapeño poppers and only received 3 which is the only reason I am giving it 4 instead of 5 stars. read more

We went here with some family from the local area. The food was delicious, fresh, and delightful. Their decor and atmosphere is outdoorsy, western, and very unique. It is more of a bar than a restaurant setting but don't let that stop you from getting food. The workers and waitresses are friendly and kind. Thanks for the great dinner and drinks! Great food and service. Stopped here on route to Rapid City, SD. Great place to grab a bite to eat, or to relax. The theme of the saloon is the Wild West, and the architecture and accessories did a fantastic job portraying this. The food was excellent, and fair-priced. They brought their food truck to the fireworks display on the capital grounds in Bismarck this year, one of the only food vendors. I can't comment on my food as I never got any. After twenty minutes in a line that was ten people deep when I got in it, I finally ordered and they took my card. Ten minutes later I'm told that their reader isn't working and offered a lame apology. I understand technology does not always work, but the five people still waiting for their food mentioned the reader hadn't worked earlier either. I barely got back to my seat, empty handed, before the fireworks started. Missed most of the concert. Maybe next time consider cash only? read more

Absolutely incredible! I ordered steak Au Poivre ( best ever) my wife ordered cilantro lime chicken, (fantastic), brother in law got prime rib burrito, excellent, sister in law got shrimp boil, excellent. Best food in the region. read more

Haven't been to Rusty's since new ownership took over. Had the 8 oz ribeye. Ordered it medium rare. Steak came medium well (no pink). Ordered another one. Ribeye was so thin all he could do is hit it on the grill quick on each side to keep from over cooking. Part was medium, part was rare. Ribeye was 3/8 inch thick. Cheap cut of meat, tough, not much flavor. Hear we are in middle of cattle country and they serve a thin, tough supposed ribeye. Menu now has kids menu, more burgers, baskets, limited steak, no chicken or shrimp (unless you want deep fried baskets). Certainly not worth driving out of town for. read more

Was nervous about going back to Rusty's after reading the reviews about new ownership. Pleasently surprised tonite, great service and excellent 16 oz ribeye fries were great. Would recommend highly and we will be back. read more
