I make a similar beet dish at home, so it was nice to have something simple, comforting, and genuinely delicious -- it felt like eating at home. The beef was incredibly tender and fell apart easily with just my fork. I also had the vanilla crème brûlée for dessert. It was pretty good, but it was cold, and I usually prefer it a little warm and smoother. Not quite the cozy dessert I was hoping for. I ordered a gluten-free pasta dish and clearly informed the waitress that I am gluten intolerant (celiac). When the dish was brought out, I noticed a single regular noodle sitting right in the middle of the pasta. It was visibly different from the gluten-free noodles. Thankfully, I spotted it before taking a bite. Cross-contamination is a serious issue for people with celiac disease, and even one noodle can make us very sick. I asked for the dish to be taken back and explained that I was too nervous to reorder it because I didn't want to risk getting sick. Instead, I ordered a simple green side salad and specifically requested no croutons. A few bites into the salad, I found a crouton. At that point, I was extremely upset and honestly tearful. I informed the manager and explained how serious this is for me. I asked for the salad to be removed from my bill, given that it also contained gluten after I clearly requested it not to. They refused. For anyone with celiac disease or a serious gluten intolerance, this was not just an inconvenience -- it was a health risk. The repeated lack of attention to a clearly communicated medical dietary restriction, followed by the refusal to remove the contaminated item from the bill, was deeply disappointing. I hope the restaurant takes food allergies more seriously in the future and improves its kitchen practices and staff training so no one else has to go through this. Since this experience, I have never been back and would recommend others avoid going back to this restaurant.
