They promote themselves to be a professionally run volleyball club and are associated with the Ontario Volleyball Association, which helps lend them some legitimacy, but this club is anything but. It's run by a group of parents that resemble a bad high school clique of sorts. Unfortunately for the rest of us who unwittingly pay to have their children 'trained' here, it is this same group of parents that pretend to be coaches. I guess they have done the bare minimum to be able to pass themselves off as coaches and meet OVA requirements, but the coaching is sub-standard. My kids all achieved the same level of coaching credentials that Breakers coaches have by the time they were 16 - so it's not hard. Breakers coaches are not knowledgeable or skilled in the sport nor are most capable of managing the challenges of working with kids. Some quite frankly shouldn't even be around kids. As a result, the teams never get properly trained or developed, nor do they reach the potential they should. Breakers also runs a summer beach volleyball school in association with the local YMCA where they pass off their club players (some as young as 13 with absolutely no qualifications or experience) as coaches. It is a joke. It's a shame that there is no regulatory body, because if there was, this place would be out of business. If you live in Cobourg, get your children involved in something else or if they truly want to play volleyball, take them to one of the many other clubs around in Clarington, Durham or Peterborugh. Breakers is a complete waste of time and money.

When I went to the Derby a few years ago, it was an exhibition game, so it wasn't as intense as this game (this one was a championship game). They ladies were intense! The games go fast, and there were very few timeouts! Fast paced and intense! A few issues though, the food choices are limited, and so are the beer choices, and the dome arena was freezing! I guess nobody squats here, but they have more than any other goodlife. Lots of room to do deadlifts around here too. Other equipment is pretty standard and never seems too crowded. Cardio machines always empty too. Where is everyone? Crowd - pass. Not too many juiceheads, unnecessary weight slamming here. Everybody kind of just does their thing and keeps to themselves. My son is a 11 years old grade 5 boy. He had been in Markham gators team for a while, but we just…read morequit yesterday. If your kids are the top 5 in the team then you are lucky, the Coach will try to treat you kids nicely and give your kids much more play time than the other kids. If your kids are not so great for example if they are last 3 in the team, it was like a nightmare. The Coach is trying to create a wolf culture in the team. If you are the top player , you can take other players time to play. If you are at the bottom, you are not deserve to play. They are trying to teach a group of 11 year old boy how cruel the world is, weak meat strong eat. There is no fairness, no compassionate, no caring about other kids' feeling. There is only fighting to win the game. The Coach will find any excuses to kick your kids out of the court letting the other kids who play better substitute you. The kids' confidence will be destroyed by this. This team's spirit is encouraging discrimination to the less competent players in the team. I want my boy to be himself, I want him know if he is trying he can improve. Enjoy to play even he lost the game but he tried. I want my boy understand team work, be compassionate and willing to help. So I won't choose a team like this ever again no matter the coaches' training skill good or not.

I have been going to Anytime Fitness for years and haven't had any issues with them at all, I went often after work every night. I was happy to support small independent franchise owners. I recently moved out to Alberta for job relocation and needed to freeze my one membership and cancel my boyfriends membership (I pay for my boyfriend and I) and spoke with Jake and he freezes it no problem and cancelled the other, they said that they need a signature but then I explained that I live in Alberta so they said they would cancel it no problem. About a month after (in March) I called and told him that I need to cancel my membership. They said like they did before that I need to sign, but he will try to work out canceling this one. I got a call back and they said it's taken care of and cancelled. Woo! Nothing to worry about riiiiight? So June rolls by and I noticed that Anytime Fitness is still taking money out of my account! I called Jake and he said that there must be some kind of accounting error, and they will have their account look into it and call me back. One month of me calling them to see what is going back, and no one is answering me. No one told me if the membership actually got cancelled, now the accountant calls me today and says that I NEVER CANCELLED. First off on the phone this woman is speaking to me in a patronizing speaking-to-a-child tone, then starts yelling at me and repeating herself over and over again. I wasn't trying to interrupt her, I was trying to straighten out the dates things were supposed to be frozen and what was cancelled. She continues to yell at me and yell over me, I was trying to speak respectfully and get a clear answer as to why they never kept any record of me wanting my membership cancelled. On top of this, no one gave me any answer as to whether or not both memberships are actually cancelled, and if they are going to try to continue to steal from my bank account. If a signature is what they needed, I could have signed when I was in Ontario for my fathers funeral. In February I had a charge of $1.13 come out from Anytime, could this have been a cancellation fee? I don't know. All the way up to last month they have been charging me. At this point, I don't even want to deal with them anymore. So if you want to be insulted and stolen from and treated like subhuman garbage and have your money continuously taken, then please go here. The customer service- atrocious. The gym - okay. Not worth it. I should have read the reviews before joini In all seriousness though, go somewhere else. Businesses like this deserve to go bankrupt. UPDATE: After 4 times since early this year of telling me that they will be taking no more money from me, they are continuing to try to take money from my account. I have two letters claiming that I owe them. The audacity that they have to think they will get another dime from me is ridiculous. Shame on YOU Anytime!
