I got there a…read morebit late because I had a family function earlier that day but it rained so heavily I honestly did not miss much. The price of this event was very expensive, I mean seriously VIP tickets were $200 a day. I was lucky as can be that I won them from a twitter contest. I was shocked to be honest, both days of VIP, was very grateful. The main theme is a day time into night time RAVE, no other way to describe it. Maybe not like the ones in the Mojave desert or EDC Las Vegas but those are hard to duplicate. There was the EXPERIENCE OF 4 STAGES- 2 DAYS. 100,000 SUPPOSEDLY people there. So many smiling faces, so many women dressed very scandalous for this. There were litterally hundreds of artists there performing. Over 70 DJS in all. There were even Carnival Rides to go on for your entertainment, Interactive Art Installations and one GIGANTIC OWL. The day I was there was Saturday and there was a mess of people there. Martin Garrix was the first one I really saw I believe. He was definitely a fan favorite. He did a really long set. http://youtu.be/AmJLR_9ivqw Crazy live like in this video I was there really for the main artists like Krewella, and yes I got to see her, but was so far away. I left the VIP section early and wanted to really mingle with the people. http://youtu.be/JqVbVfhM2EY I was honestly even further back for this group, it was that packed. End of the night there was Carl Cox and Loco Dice playing together in the only inside venue. I was there for a bit and saw many pretty ladies. http://youtu.be/Q-FyhYdlcw8 I knew about Carl Cox for years so it was actually nice to finally see him. Ended up also catching about 30 minutes of AFROJACK set. He went on last and his particular stage. It was really good, and crowded so I didn;t stay whole time. http://youtu.be/5eNGO1PdxN0 This was AFROJACK in case you didn't know who he is. HARDWELL was also a main act and he did his thing too. *All in all, a great experience, and a really hot day of moving around here and there. I got some water and there were free refilling stations. I still almost felt like I was dehydrated. Had a monster drink and that helped too. I would come back again another year. Each stage was great.

On Saturday of this year, it started drizzling... raining... well, okay, fine, pouring buckets... and they made us all go inside the stadium for at least a whole hour! Liars! Can you imagine all those people huddled up in the parking lot making their way inside? Needless to say, it was a zoo. Otherwise, EDC was an incredible 2-day experience and I can't wait to go again. I didn't think I'd love it this much, especially having gone to Coachella last month and thinking this would pale in comparison. But it had the elements of Coachella that I loved while having its own qualities that made it unique. Obviously go if you're into the music (EDM, house, dance, electro house, D&B, techno, dance punk, hardstyle, dubstep), or if you just want to witness the atmosphere, I guess. Speaking of which, girls are all in crop tops, high waisted shorts, and floral headbands. Sounds cliche, but it was fun dressing up! I saw maybe 10 concerts within the 2 days, which I believe is worth the money. I also very much appreciated the real bathrooms available inside versus the standard portapotties. Beware: there is a very small variety of food (Papa John's, chicken fingers, and fries. That's it) and the prices are outrageous. $7 for French fries whatwhat! Also, security is over the top. They don't let you bring in makeup or water bottles (because apparently these things are made of ecstasy??...) Transportation that I took from NYC: metronorth from Penn Station to Secaucus, then bus from there to Metlife. $10.50 roundtrip and so easy a monkey could do it. In any case, go and dance like no one is watching!

The atmosphere and the feats of skill were most phenomenal to behold. As for the victuals, they were prepared with great mastery, seasoned to perfection and most savory. We were served a feast of roasted dragon, tubers of the earth, and sweet maize, followed by a refreshing flagon of nectar. The tournament featured six valiant Knights who didst clash upon the field of honor. Mine own party was seated within the Black and White Knight's pavilion; alas, our champion didst fall, yet our spirits remained high. 'Tis a gathering place most fitting for the celebration of betrothals, natal days, or the marking of scholarly achievements. Though we attended for the sheer joy of the sport, I declare this venue a marvel for young squires and even those merry fellows seeking a bachelor's feast. By my troth, I shall return to this hall again!

Went early and there was a line waiting to get it. Not crazy. The show actors came out to greet us. After the wait we got let in and assigned a color. Took a picture and then we waited in the lobby for the show to start. Bought some trinkets and other items. Got called to go to a door. The arena was cold, so bring a light sweater. Walked to our seats and the server introduced herself. She told us what to expect and when. The show and food started. The food was good, no memorable. Show was also entertaining. Server was efficient. Overall, a well managed location, good, clean and friendly service, fun show you end up cheering for your color. Make sure to tip your server well if you think they did a good job. Had fun and won't wait again for many years to go back.

I wish this venue was closer to me, I'd be there for every hardcore show they put on. For this show there was no barricade; I don't know if that varies from one show to another, but I was happy to see the lack of a barrier when we walked in. The security was just how you want them to be at this kind of show: present and there if needed, but not getting in anyone's way or preventing people from dancing or stagediving. There are two bars in the main area of the Black Box, one at the back, one on the side. And then merch was sold upstairs, and there's another bar there. Snack machines, and candy is also sold at at least one of the bars. I paid $7 for a 12 oz. can of Miller Lite or $9 for Corona, I'm not sure what size that was, 11 or 12 oz. I guess, one of those weird tall, skinny cans. The sound quality here is excellent. They had some lights going on during the bands' sets, but nothing too showy or intrusive. Really, just all around top-quality in terms of sound, stage setup, production. All the employees I encountered were very friendly. This was a pretty big crowd; I don't know if it was sold out or not, but the place was packed by the time AN went on. Sometimes staff can be unpleasant or just generally serious, handling this many people in a theater size venue, but these folks all seemed happy to have us there. I love the Black Box at Williams Center and hope to be back soon.

The "Black Box" room was an intimate, open rectangle next to a more formal theater space with tiered row seating. The sound quality was spectacular, and it was nice to be right in the middle of the action. I would definitely see another show there.

You can either purchase tickets online or right at the place. The basic tickets were $60 each. However, the closer you get to Halloween, the ticket prices go up. Upon entry to the Brighton Asylum, there are several people outside, directing you to parking. We went through 3 very cool and fun haunted houses. Actors are dressed in scary costumes. They try to scare you, but will direct you through the haunted house. Visibility can be a little tricky in some areas of the houses. The house has several exits, in case you've "just had enough". It took approximately 1 1/2 hours for the entire visit. Just some cautions for those who have any type of limitations. In one house, there's at least two tunnels you really have to "bend over" and walk through at least 10 to 12 steps. In another house, there's at least three long flights of steps to climb up and down. The facility does have some extras like ax throwing and an escape room which will cost extra money. Definitely recommend the Brighton Asylum for a fun evening! The Brighton Asylum is located at 2 Brighton Rd. off of Van Houten Ave. in the back area. A gift shop is available with Brighton Asylum Tee Shirts. Porta John's are available on the premises.

Since we had VIP tickets, the check in process was quick, but the perks of VIP were so underwhelming. Inside the festival there were lots of food stalls, some small rides and entertainment booths and there a big stage for live performances. We got to see a wonderful Chinese song and some drumming by a Japanese group. The food items were super expensive. Most places were selling stuff for $16 or above, and the items were not worth the price. Some of the good stuff were the dumplings, ube ice cream and bubble tea. We went to entertainment booths to try some of the children's rides and games. They were below average. We spent few hours at the festival but overall experience below expectations.

We came during the first session on Saturday morning just after opening so it wasn't too crowded yet. As it was around lunchtime, it was perfect for snacking on a variety of plates. The food prices are pretty typical fairground rates, i.e. expectedly overpriced. As many reviewers have noted, the cost can add up between the entry ticket fee and individual food stalls. It's best to come with a small group so you can split orders and try a variety of things (4-5 people is ideal). Dream Asia hosts food fests in other cities as well (Las Vegas, Philly, Baltimore, Winston-Salem NC) but this event was held in Rutherford NJ in a parking lot of the American Dream Mall, and traffic/parking was well-directed and organized, despite the enormity of the Meadowlands complex. As it was close to Halloween there was trick or treating at every vendor booth so my child really enjoyed that. There were also performances and some kids activities like a bounce house. Definitely show up hungry and ready to chow down!

Ticket pickup in front of Cent'Anni was easy once I knew where to go, and I found it so helpful that there was a map and list of what each spot was offering. That list was useful in planning what I wanted to try. In the future, I'd recommend that the event hosts try to confirm these listings with participating restaurants a bit closer to the event date, because some of them were inaccurate. One place listed as offering "sliders" served only a single (scrumptious) slider, and another spot listed as offering a "choice of two tacos or a margarita" informed me when I arrived that they weren't offering the margarita after all. I thought the offerings were pretty fair, just wish the list had been a bit more accurate. While I wouldn't recommend Tastes of Brooklyn to someone looking for a "good deal", it wasn't a bad way to share a walk and various foods with a friend while supporting Seeds in the Middle.

The ticket pickup station at the Gowanus Dredgers Canoe Club was also a bit of a hassle. Not the most centrally located, and their ticketing system was a mess. A lot of manual handwritten notes. That said, I appreciated all the businesses that participated (some of which I've never been to before!), but I wish it were better organized.
