During the tour, I witnessed a teacher raising their voice at a 2-year-old, which immediately left me questioning the environment and the level of training provided to the staff. I know some teachers can give tough love I gave it the benefit of doubt. My biggest concern came after my 3-year-old attended. I was informed by a staff member that he had made a sexual gesture or comment. As his parent, I know the behavior they were referring to was simply him picking his nose and putting his finger in his mouth--a gross but very typical behavior for a 3-year-old the other teacher even came out as I was extremely concerned to say it was innocent. The teacher accusing my son attacked me none the less at pick up not even a hello. The situation was handled in an extremely unprofessional manner, and I was shocked that such a serious accusation was made instead of approaching it with appropriate understanding of normal toddler development.What was equally disappointing was the lack of communication afterward. After this incident was reported to management, neither the director nor anyone from administration reached out to check on my child, discuss the situation, or address my concerns. That level of follow-up and accountability was completely absent. In my opinion, the facility also appeared unclean, and the overall professionalism of the staff did not inspire confidence. After this experience, I chose not to send my son back and enrolled him elsewhere. The difference in professionalism, communication, and care has been night and day. I also encourage parents to review the daycare's inspection history and any licensing violations through the New Jersey child care licensing records before making a decision. It's important to do your research and make an informed choice about where you entrust your child. Every child deserves to be cared for by patient, well-trained professionals in a safe, clean, and nurturing environment. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here.

I'm sharing my personal experience with this daycare so other parents can make an informed…read moredecision. We enrolled under what was clearly labeled a 10-month contract. I was informed at the time that this type of contract is typically offered to teachers; however, the director offered it to us as a courtesy when we were preparing to leave, due to the school's 12-month schedule and lack of a guaranteed September spot if a child is withdrawn for July and August. I was clear with the director that I am not a teacher, and the contract was still offered and signed. Based on vocal and written communication, my understanding was that this agreement allowed my child to be out for July and August while maintaining her enrollment for September. Recently, we were unexpectedly asked to confirm our intentions for the next school year. When I referenced the 10-month contract, I was told someone would follow up with me, which did not happen. I then emailed for clarification. The owner responded by stating that I had misunderstood the agreement, despite the contract and email I had in writing from her outlining what the 10 month contract is. When I said I would need to consult a lawyer if the agreement was not honored, I was told the owner does not deal with "litigious people," and my child was removed from the program in the middle of the school day. Separately, my child reported being hit by another student on multiple occasions. When these concerns were brought to the owner, I was told that my child was lying. There was also an incident where staff commented negatively on my child's lunch, telling her that yogurt was unhealthy, which I found inappropriate. This review reflects my direct experience only. I encourage parents to ask detailed questions, get all agreements in writing, and carefully consider how concerns and disputes are handled before enrolling.

I genuinely was excited about the possibility of my child enrolling here because of the things others have mentioned - clean appearing facilities, outdoor location attached to facility, and cameras. After months of waiting and back and forth (often with multiple unanswered voicemails etc) over 6 months, we finally enrolled in Purple Cats. I paid the fee as they suggested once the space was open for my son, but never heard back about any orientation/starting materials until I reached out. Still, I gave the office the benefit of the doubt and arrived ready with the materials requested, only to find out that neither Ghabby or Gloria (who basically use each other as a convenient scapegoat) were expecting us. Not a single person in the facility knew that we were planned to start that day, despite the payment having been received and the required documentation sent. Despite all of this, we gave them the benefit of the doubt since July is a busy month for daycares, and enrolled my son. We survived day one, but on day two, which I expected to be harder for him, I watched the camera to see how the teachers engaged / eased my son into the adjustment. What I saw was honestly appalling as a mom, not only regarding their treatment of my son, but of the other children. While I definitely understand that children cry and may have a hard time with adjustments, they allowed my son to cry for at least 18 minutes without an adult even approaching him. During this time, they messaged me stating that "live update: diaper dry" but this was clearly false as I was watching my son cry on a rug by himself. When questioned, they stated that this was because they felt they needed to "allow him to gain his trust." At 14 months old, crying for that long does not gain the trust of the child or the parent. Despite ALL of this, I reached out to both Ghabby via phone and Gloria via email who both did the proper lip service and informed me that they would get back to me by end of day with an update on the incident that occurred. I even emailed them more than 48 hours ago to ask for us to pick up our belongings as I've decided this is not the right fit for my family. Despite all of this -including recorded incident tapes documenting a teacher being unnecessarily aggressive with the students- the administration can not seem to respond in a timely manner. In summary, while they may have the "bells and whistles" you first look for on a tour & may do the lip service necessary to make parents feel comfortable, they are disorganized, unprofessional, and unnecessarily aggressive with young children. I strongly urge you stay away.

I have to say - this daycare quickly became such a place of comfort to me. The facilities are always clean (he's never been sick.. and my friends baby who also went here never got sick). The teachers are so attentive and loving. They give me great updates throughout the day. When i drop him off now (he's 6 months) he has HUGE smiles his teachers. They give him plenty of things to do throughout the day and make sure he feeds and naps when he needs to. It never seems like there are too many babies to a teacher either. All the kids seem happy and honestly, so do the parents. Bring your baby here if there's availability! You will not be disappointed!
