This review is honest and I wouldn't say bad or great, and we will still go to their office when care is needed. They always have available appointments which is so helpful when your kid is sick, but I always wonder at the same time is that because their staff are a bit cold. We do go here and do feel they provide honest care for children, I just wish the doctors, nurses and front staff had more joy and fun when the kids are around. They're all very very serious and come off stern. They will give a lollipop or a sticker which my kids do like, but in the treatment room the bedside manner is so cold unfortunately. No loving and welcoming side for the kids. For example, this morning we saw Dr. Grace. She came in, stone cold, very serious and didn't have any loving side or compassion with my three year old. I do believe she has a good concept as a doctor, I'm not doubting that, I just wish she was friendlier with the little ones. :( 5 stars for appointment availability and location to my house (super close), but 3 for their cold demeanor which I wish was more loving/welcoming for a pedi office. read more

Staff is always friendly and have been able to fit me in a couple of times late in the day. I know some people are upset about the staff turnover but the doctors my daughters have seen have always been friendly and helpful. The waiting area is small but they just opened up an expansion across the hall. I never had to wait long and they always have some movie on for kids to watch while hey wait. They fit me in a couple of times late in the day which I really appreciated. My 7 year old has been going since she was 4 and my new born all her life and my wife and I are happy with the service. read more

Office is always super clean & staff is so friendly!! They remember us by name & are always so happy to see my son! They always have available appointments. They take after hours calls & the doctors themselves call you, not some random people! Also they reserve morning appointments for newborns and infants so they don't have to be in the office with the older sick children. Dr. Mendes is seriously the absolute BEST! I once called after 11 pm & she took the call & was so friendly. She even called back the next day to see how my little guy was doing. She doesn't get bothered by my thousands of questions and is so informative. I don't have a single bad thing to say about rutherford peds. & again, I highly highly recommend Dr. Mendes. Seriously. DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS!!I've been taking my 9 yr old daughter since she was 2 and my 4 yr old since months old. I never had an issue before 3/4/22. This office has declined in its service to patients and instead have become shot hustlers. On 3/4/22 I went to take my 4 yr old for a physical and that's it. Dr Bhumika Desai who is a TERRIBLE doctor basically informed me that I either have to give my healthy child additional vaccines or look for another practitioner because my "beliefs" are different than the ones in that office. I KID YOU NOT, That is what she said. She also stated that the vaccines she wanted to give my kid were "MANDATORY ". I told her that they were not and that my daughter has been in school without any issues. Then she changed it and said that they were recommended by the CDC. DR BHUMIKA DESAI IS ALSO A LIAR AT THAT. I told her I that I'll pass on the recommendation and I also told her among other things that anyone who follows the CDC at this point is an idiot because the CDC has proven that that they are not trustworthy. She said that it was a policy and I told her to show me the policy. Sure enough there is a nonsense agenda driven policy to coerce parents to give their kids shots "or else" find another doctor. She said that my daughter can get other kids sick. The office was EMPTY and no other kids were there. I asked her how does she know if my daughter is sick? I asked her, if she knows if my daughters sick. She looked at me like sn IDIOT and had nothing to say. When I asked who did this policy she said Dr Grace Becz who apparently is the owner. I told her that neither she or Dr. Becz are real doctors because doctors take an oath to service patients not push THEIR beliefs on parents. I also called both of them money grabbers because they must be getting paid for pushing all these immunizations/shots. These are not doctors with integrity, or decency. THEY HAVE THEIR OEN BELIEFS SND WANT TO PUSH IT ON PARENTS/KIDS. These aren't doctors. These are agenda pushers, money grabbers and shot hustlers. They are also either purposely DUMB or blatant liars because their office posters states that wearing a a mask is a LAW!! These are the so called "EXPERTS" that we allow to guide us. That alone should have someone question that facility. I called them out on that too. I asked them tween did this so called mask law go through a legislative body? These are the people that are "guiding" us on our kids health. I love the doctors and have been taking my daughter there for seven years however the office manager couldn't get past being called inflexible. If she would come across a little nicer I would not have an issue with all of their 'rules' as far as appointments are concerned, however 'she' doesn't want to deal with patients past certain times/ on certain days but unfortunately this is a job and she may not be happy with it but if I were her boss I would not be happy with her. I will miss the doctors especially Dr. Becz, Garripoli and Trani. But my child's health is a priority not the office managers moods. I recommend this office if you have patience to deal with a few unprofessional office staff if not, then there are plenty of other great doctors in the area!! read more

I couldn't agree more that Rutherford Pedatrics is a poor establishment. Thus, it is no surprise that 2 of the best pediatricians voted by readers of NJ Family magazine have left this establishment - Dr Trani & Dr Garripoli. I have to agree that the Office Manager - Gerri Kairys - is really terrible. The office (without my knowledge or content changed my daughter's well visit to a sick visit and then attempted to deceive me that it was changed because I had inquired about my daughters cradle caps during the well visit. ============= To Rutherford Pediatrics - Gerrie Kairys This is in reference to the incident that occurred on February 7, 2015 in which your staff insisted that a balance of $20 was legitimately charged for a well visit back in 10/30/2013 when I was specifically instructed by Dr Becz to come back for a well visit on the 4th week after the birth of my child. This visit was initially put through as a well visit and your practice subsequently changed it to a 'sick' visit (without my knowledge or consent until your office balance billed me months down the road). I have always paid for all sick visits up front and this is also a practice of your office to do so (as also posted on the window of your office). This, if this was truly a sick visit, how could that have escaped the office to collect a copayment from me at the time of the visit? We were clearly instructed by Dr Becz (again, I did not volunteer to come in the office for the visit) to come back for a well visit but was subsequently billed later. Clearly 20 dollars is not the issue here but your staff went on to deceive me that I asked about cradle caps during the well visit and thus justified the change of a well visit to a sick visit. This is absurd. My child did not have cradle caps at 4 weeks after birth and the visit was a scheduled one from my last well visit on 10/10/13 so how would I have known that my child would be sick 2 weeks later and schedule ahead of time a sick visit if indeed this is a sick visit? Further, if inquiring about cradle cap during a well visit justifies a well visit to be changed to a sick visit, then please review my child's record for her well visits on 11/27/13, 1/24/14, and 3/28/14 in which the topic of cradle caps was discussed and noted in the records. Why were those visits not subsequently changed to sick visits? Lastly, if you look at the medical records, you had clearly indicated that the10/10/13 well visit was a 4 week well visit which in actuality is only 2 weeks from the birth of my child on 9/26/13. The 10/30/13 visit that your office subsequently changed from a well visit would have legitimately fall into the 4 wk visit time frame. I can only, through all the facts stated above, reason that your office had collection issues with insurance on the number of well visits that can be covered under my insurance plan. Your staff asked to discuss it in one of the examination rooms and I complied. I was never "verbally abusive" (as per your accusation without hearing both sides and my husband as a witness) but was stating the facts which your staff continues to defraud me after I stated how her reasoning that a well visit had subsequently changed to a 'sick visit' has holes. The fact that you are dishonest about the reason for payment is a clear indication that I should discontinue this relationship. While I contemplated on staying with the practice only because I didn't want any disruption to my child's well visits, you made it easy on this disengagement. I actually like Dr Lopez who just started seeing my child. To drop a child from care and discontinue the relationship without further discussion is truly irresponsible of this office especially that of a pediatrics office. The correct way is to call the child's parents and inquire about the incident. What can I say... I have known Dr. Becz since she started the practice... I love love love her!! I trust her 100%. How many people can honestly say that about their pediatricians?? The bad reviews are not even about the doctors.. I wouldn't leave this group because of staff issues... To find a doctor like Dr. Becz is really hard ... I have a specialist for one of my children, due to his special needs and it's been crazy to see how most doctors over medicate, run tests that aren't necessary...(Dr. Rai is also amazing)... Dr Becz is absolutely wonderful. I had a minor freak out on thanksgiving morning when I saw my 1 year old had coughed up blood overnight. Dr. Becz took time out of her thanksgiving with her family to talk me off the ledge and really help me out and explain what was going on. I would highly recommend Dr. Becz as a pediatrician... As a mother herself, she knows how to talk to and calm new moms. read more

I've been taking my daughters to the Rutherford Pediatrics for the past 3 years and was having no problems until recently when 2 of their best doctors (Dr. Garripoli and Trani) left. First, they say they are open untill 5pm on Friday or 8pm on other days, but you will never be able to reach them after 4.20pm or 7.20pm. It happened to me twice and I called the office 10 times both days, noone picked up. Second, If you try to call their back up emergency service they will make you wait for 10 min before someone can pick up the phone. Third, the office manager is so mean, that everytime I have to go in the office, I am hoping she is not on the window because she is going to ruin not only my day, but the whole week as well. Its a big disapointment that a great doctor like Dr. Becz doesnt have more professional staff. Definitely will look for other Pediatrician in the next few days. Please let me know of some good ones.
