This is a really cool boutique in downtown CO springs! It's a little pricey but actually a lot bigger than I thought it would be outside, and a lot of the clothing and hats were quite cute. I did notice a somewhat rustic vibe to some of the clothes, but not all. The staff were also super friendly :) Bear in mind no free parking right out front because it's downtown, I believe the nearest free parking would be over the bridge about 15 mins walk away in the residential area. read more

This is hands-down my favorite boutique in the Springs. They always have new items in stock, making for fun browsing no matter how often you stop in. They also always have they same categories of merch, so even though it's changing up, you can usually find something that you're looking for. And the holidays! This is your one-stop-shop for everyone on your list. They have gorgeous jewlery, fun housewares, unique baby and toddlers toys and books, cookbooks and other daily inspirations, and tons of clothes. I love shopping at Terra Verde and see it as a boon to downtown, a real treasure. I am plus size, and I had never thought of shopping for clothes at Terra Verde until a couple of years ago. I have found beautiful clothing at TV in my size-- clothes that hold up well and last. Furthermore, I have found items for sale on the sale rack! When I go into Terra Verde, I find the salespeople to be welcoming but never pushy. They offer just the right amount of service. They also help me find just what I'm looking for and make me feel great about my choices while also offering suggestions. Besides clothes, I find great gifts for all occasions of every person in my life--infants to seniors. I like to shop local as much as possible. Terra Verde is a unique store right here in COS. Stopped in while we were walking off lunch on Sunday and just loved this quaint shop! What caught my eye was the flying pigs and elephants and other things (had to buy the pigs, maybe should have bought more!). I basically loved everything in this store. Unfortunately the dress I tried on was more snug than I'd prefer and they didn't have other sizes in stock. I'd say a lot of the fashion items, although very in style, we're somewhat too very overpriced. Some were acceptably pricy given quality, but more items had a "fast fashion" feel, but an upper end price (think a shirt for $117). The paper goods selections was great. I bought a book for a gift. I was impressed with the selection of journals, unique quote books, photo books, and card stock. I'd come back just for that! Oh! Also extremely cute were these hand printed tea towels. Stopped by to just pass time waiting on an appointment. Some members there were really friendly others were overbearing. I was followed around the store almost the entire time. I did purchase from here. They have amazing merchandise but I will not be back due to what felt like racial profiling. No one else that came in was followed or even spoken to besides a welcome in. EXTREMELY helpful staff with beautiful unique merchandise. I needed a dress for a special occasion and was honestly in a bit of a frump about it. My body has changed (due to an auto immune condition) and shopping is not nearly as fun as it used to be. The ladies Susan and Monica were wonderful, full of great ideas and with their help (and my best girlfriend) we found a perfect dress- comfortable, flattering and chic- ( can you imagine?) Terra Verde is a really cute store in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs. They carry a big selection of contemporary clothes and home stuffs, I like 'um. Though they are kind of expensive I guess they can be excused because they are an independent business and are helping to make the Springs hip. (That, of course, might never actually happen.) You can find great brands like Hobo, Betsey Johnson and Ann Taintor. The staff is kind of stuffy and tend to think themselves very important, but can be cool at times too. read more

I tend to stop in to Terra Verde each time I go back to visit Colorado Springs and I absolutely love all the trinkets, the jewelery selection and especially the Umbra items they keep in the back. This really is the ultimate gift shop in that you can find a gift for your grandmother, your nephew, your cousin and your sister all in one place (and get it gift wrapped, too)! I typically go straight for the jewelry and I love that they have all sorts of styles and feature local artists. They also frequently have trunk shows, so be on the lookout for those! Their clothing selection is fairly large but not really my taste. I do love their huge selection of scarves, though. They have everything from super casual, to trendy, to fancy! The baby/kids section is very cute and the book section is great for finding coffee table books, bathroom reads and anything from cookbooks to joke books. The only downside is that Terra Verde is typically VERY expensive. For most of the merchandise it is understandable because it is made by a local artist and/or is very high quality. But some items, like the clothing for example, can run you a pretty penny! The only other thing I would mention is that sometimes the staff can be overly pushy. They are mostly friendly but some of the ladies tend to hover and overstay their welcome. I'm not big on chit-chat and small talk so this bothers me, but perhaps it won't be an issue for you! read more

Wife-unit was in here to buy some specialty Capri jeans, which they were out of. She did look at some other stuff, but didn't find anything else she couldn't live with. Some cynics would say that I gave them five stars because my wife didn't spend any money, but that is not the case. I have shopped at this store a few times over the years. Kind of stumbled across it one day while downtown shopping. I have to say that I really like this store and up until yesterday I have never had a problem. From the moment I stepped into the store not one associate greeted me. Mind you, they greeted others around me. There was an associate up front and she just looked at me when I walked in. As I browsed through the store I came across other associates and not one time did they greet me or ask me if I needed help. There was even one associate who I walked past several times and she acted as if I was invisible. Mind you, she offered help and greeted a few other ladies while I was there. Now, if this had been my first time in this store, I might have assumed it was because of me being a black woman but I know for a fact this was not the case. As I stated, I have shopped here several times and have always been treated kindly from the associates. Yes, normally I am dressed differently but that shouldn't matter. So, I can only chalk this up to the fact that I wasn't dressed as someone who could possibly afford anything in their store (not that this is an expensive store compared to others at least in my opinion). So, what was I wearing? I wore a plaid shirt, jeans and sneakers. The only person who was kind was the young lady behind the counter who checked me out (I purchased some socks for stocking stuffers), who actually acknowledge me with a smile. Then there was the other lady behind the counter who asked if I found what I was looking for. I explained to them that I was looking for something to wear for a Christmas tea but didn't see anything that grab my attention. I would say to the staff, please don't judge a book by the cover. Just because you see someone dressed a certain way doesn't mean that they couldn't possibly afford anything in your store. I must admit that I am a little disappointed, because as a boutique shopper there aren't many boutiques in the downtown area to shop in and this was one of my go to's. I love this shop and have been many times before but the women working today must have forgotten to take their Xanax. They kept following my friends and I around asking us multiple times if we needed help while we were browsing, posing as a customer reading a book right beside us like we were going to shop lift something from them. The "book reading customer" then came up behind the counter as we were checking out with about $100 worth of merchandise and that's when I put two and two together. Probably won't be giving them my service anymore which is sad because I really do like this store. read more

For those of you who may not know, Terra Verde is a boutique women's clothing store that is located on the 200 block of North Tejon. However, to call it a women's clothing store is a bit of a misnomer considering the fact that Terra Verde sells a variety of other things: home decor, jewelry, bath & body products, accessories, books... even kid's stuff! Need a gift for a baby shower, wedding, or birthday? Come here. Not only will you get a unique gift that is sure to stand out from any others, but the folks at Terra Verde have you covered when it comes to wrapping the damn thing. Which is especially important for me considering that I normally: A) buy gifts at the last minute; B) suck at wrapping presents; C) only have wrapping paper from CostCo that smells like formaldehyde; D) never have scotch tape; or E) All of the above.* And that's not to say that the only reason you should stop by this store is to buy a gift for someone else. If you want to treat yourself to a little something special at any time of the year, this is definitely the place to go I'm fairly certain that most of the staff there recognizes me as "The lady who constantly comes in and looks at everything in our store inventory as if she's never seen any of it before." Review of the clothes: If you like European-type styles (for women) or just clothes with a cool but feminine character, this is the place for you. I moved here from LA and was glad to find a shop that carries clothing similar to my favorite boutique out there. (I'm tall--5'10"--and for some reason, European dresses fit me better.) Terra Verde is larger though--with a wide selection of styles. Others have said it's pricey, but it's not bad--around $30 to $50 for a shirt and $100 or more for a dress. Reviews matter! And not always how someone leaving one expects it to. So I just read a review from someone having a problem with being approached to wear a mask in the store. I just arrived from out-of-state (used to live here) and I drop by Terra Verde several times a year to shop. I was nervous about coming in this time. I was wondering if I could expect shoppers to be wearing masks. I just want management to know that because the previous reviewer said she left and took her $200 elsewhere, she just made my day! I'm thrilled Terra Verde cares about employees and your customers enough to ask this of those entering your store. I wasn't sure if I should come by, but now I'm on my way. If I could give 0 stars I would!! I wanted to give this store a few tries before I posted a long negative review, so here I go. I really wanted to love this store because they have the cutest things, especially baby stuff. The first time I went into the store I was never acknowledged, not even a hi, hello.... nothing. Figured they were just busy or something (even though the store was pretty empty). Second time I was in there I was finally acknowledged, but it was weird because I felt like I was followed around. I was asked if there was anything I needed help finding multiple times, when it was clear I had what I needed. I told the lady I only came in for a few baby gift items, but thank you. The third and last time I went into the store, I went again for a baby gift for my brother in laws first baby. I walked in first and my husband straggled along behind me. I passed an employee helping another customer and smiled at her as I walked in. If looks could kill I would be dead!! There were three employees at the check out counter when I stopped to wait for my husband (still straggling along). They all looked me up and down, said nothing and continued to talk amongst themselves!! I waited for my husband to see if they would acknowledge him. The same thing happened! At this point I'm feeling pretty disturbed because I'm half black, my husband is Hispanic, and I feel like this is a racial thing. They lost a customer who would have frequented the store often. They have great products but horrible, offensive, and just plain sad customer service. read more
