We went to RV1 in Altoona Iowa on Feb 2021 to have some work done, at that time we had a walk through with service person, we decided to have the work done that said needed done, plus what we ask to be done. A 8514.84 was given to them to do all the work discussed. After waiting and calling and not getting any response we decided to stop bye, this rv center is about 75 miles from where we live. The service person Meisha also said we need the tires check. We were told they ordered all parts. But they had de winterized, and washed it and sealed it and applied the ecopro. On April 15 we went there and after and heated conversion the sales manage told us the level jacks did not work and that was not his fault, we informed him they worked when the rv was dropped off to them. The sales manager told the service person to get our rv and they were done working on it. This was a very unprofessional way to deal with this. They broke the jacks and said to bad he was done with the rv, he did say they would refund 4800 dollars. When we took the rv home, we check out what they say they did. We found out that back up camera was broke. We had to tire shop because the front tires where bad and cost 700 dollars rv1 told us our tires where good. But the tires where bad we found steel belts on the right front side and it was very dangerous to drive because at any time they could blow and could cause a lot damage to us or anyone else who was around us, this was only part of the lies we were told. They never even ordered the jack, the water tank is bad and they say everything was ok. So now we had to take the rv to another service center to get the things fixed that they broke and lied about doing. We were told that a 4800 refund check was coming it had to go through corporate office and that was on April 15 and we still have not got it. This was the worse serve we had ever had. We have all the documents to back up what we are saying. We looked up the RV1 on the BBB website and found this is a problem with your company. Last August, 2016, we bought a 2017 Jayco Hummingbird 17FD. It seems like Des Moines RV was banking on the fact that they would never have to deal with us, again, since we are from California. Des Moines RV dutifully went through the checkout procedure, waved good-bye, and, except for two phone calls, has not returned any phone calls or correspondence since. When the service department did speak to me, they suggested I go to a dealer in California. The ONLY day the gas ignition for our refrigerator worked is the day we checked out. It was pointless to have bought this trailer from a dealer, such as Des Moines RV, since they apparently have nothing else to do with the product they sell once they have your money. Now, I have reason to suspect the check-out demonstration was a ruse and a technician manually lit the refrigerator pilot, while I thought I was using the ignitor. I am really sorry to come to this conclusion, since I generally liked the people with whom I dealt at this business. Hopefully, Jayco will not let me down as they are currently contracting with a local RV repair shop to do our warranty and recall work. At this point, I cannot recommend this place. At the time, I was willing to think it a mistake, but when our closing documents were sent to us, the price on the contract and in the fine print was MSRP in the documents, not the "offered" price to which we agreed. Worst experience ever. We stopped in on a snowy November day(newly married)No intention of purchasing a camper. Found a deal we really like. Salesmen was nice camper was nice too. They took our thousand down and we ordered. We were told repeatedly via email that we could make any changes we wanted. That was soon to be found out as false when a camper that we did not order showed up at the end of January and they said it was ours. Well a trip to Des Moines Rv later we found that it was not. They didn't have the camper plugged in I had to plug it into my truck. It was outside and freezing. Salesmen didn't have the key. And most of all it was not what we wanted. On the drive back to the sales lot we decided we still liked the deal so e would get it. That's when the real trouble began. They lied about the deal we were supposed to be given. Tried to tell me an optional grill was 1500 as was a cover for camper. We refused to sign the papers and asked for our money back. We are still fighting them on it. No where on an build sheet did it say 1000 was non refundable. This not about money anymore as so much wanting others to use caution if they visit there. They seem very nice but they will stick you if given the chance. Edit 03/31/2015 after many emails and phone calls (including the owner of RV One) they finally returned our money. We purchased a camper from Des Moines RV, our experience with this company had been a continued night mare. First it began with the salesman Steve calling and telling us he has these great deals, we agreed to go meet with him at the office, then they convince us to try and do financing through them, the so called financing great guy with his quick talking told us I can get you financed, you need to put a $100 down. (Red flag) we were told we would get it back, that has not happened. We had to go get our own financing and complete the paperwork. We told them how much we were putting down, then the jackasses call MY husband not me and request another $1000, my husband went and gave it to them. They knew I would of have told them no. Then the wait time to actually get your camper is ridiculous. That's a whole other story. Had our camper for less than a week and had an issue with one of our windows on the slide. We called them and reported it, it's going on a month they supposedly have not received the replacement window, they also do not return calls they tell us they will call us back they blow us off. Same thing we got from the financing guy. Wish I saw the complaints under the BBB before we landed with these people. Wish we purchased the camper up in Walcott they were much more professional and returned phone calls. read more

Bought Forest River Sunseeker 2400W from RVOne via online with pick up at Des Moines location. Deal wise .. it was best price hands-down. Purchase process was simple. Sale rep was good, appeared to be genuine without any run-around. Motorhome was custom ordered, and delivery was promised to be between 8 and 12 weeks. It was delivered on-time. I was then turned over to finance team to help with a loan. Their rate was better than what I could find on my own. (there are not a lot of banks that handle RV Loans directly to consumers) I was approved and loan secured within couple of days. Finance rep pushed hard for extra warranty, but I dont hold it against them.. its how they make money. A simple "no, thank you" once or twice was enough to get the point across. They went as far as to state that Saturday delivery can only be scheduled for customers who purchase warranty, but I guess I was "fortunate" and they were able to accomodate with Saturday delivery. On the day of pickup. All paperwork was in order, we signed it quickly, but not without one last attempt to make a "special" deal for me to purchase warranty. ( again, I was reminded that finance rep did me a favor and would get in trouble if I didn't purchase warranty) but it wasn't her day, and no warranty was purchased. Pickup process was fairly quick. I did my due diligence and learned as much as I could prior to walk through. Our motor home did have some minor issues.. cosmetic stuff really, but still annoying. A scratch here, a gap there. But overall, we got lucky, and everything worked. But this is a risk with an online purchase and custom order, it makes it difficult to walk away from after you travel far to pick it up and committed with a signed loan. Essentially the moment loan is signed, that motor home is mine, and they are just storing it for me until I get there. One second day of trip home (back to California), we realized, that exterior TV door lock did not work. Contacted service immediately and asked for replacement lock. Should be easy, and I would replace it myself. that was on 7/3/2017 .. back and forth between service reps and me, and on 8/24/2017 they conceded and asked that I call local locksmith to fix the lock. So I realized, that I would never get a replacement lock from them, took the lock to local locksmith to get it fixed and their service dept reimbursed me few weeks later. Overall my rating as follows: Sales - 5 ( no run-around, clear pricing, willing to work and negotiate ) Finance - 4 ( pushy but bearable, they got my loan handled and its all I really needed ) Service - 2 ( useless (although nice on email )) Overall - 3.5 ( Because of positive sales experience, I would deal with them again. ) read more

RUN RUN RUN... They'll sell you an RV and an warranty and just fall all over you. Service after the sale doesn't exist. I have made over 75 phone calls and they play a game saying someone is in charge of that and their not. I think they just spin a beer bottle and who ever it lands on is who you are transferred to. Don't get excited because you only get a voicemail box. They had our RV in for repair for over a month and I was the one calling the warranty company not them. When they had our RV for that month we asked them to look at our awning. Can you believe they lost it and don't want to replace it. They don't even return our phone calls or emails anymore. Just bought a 2017 Jayco travel trailer signed paperwork on Friday September 16. Was told that it would be ready today the 21 that we needed to come in and have a demonstration done at 1pm.I informed Ashley I work on Wednesday but girlfriend would be there . I asked if they could deliver it and was told yes.5pm Tuesday the day before pick up they called saying that service got the dates mixed up that it won't be ready until next Wednesday the 28.I called talked to Andy he said that all his paperwork says it will be ready on the 30 that's a Friday . I informed him that we were told today he denied it.i asked them why did your service department call me last night to the me it won't be ready today. His reply was they called u to tell u that we can't get you in any earlier than the 30,like I requested . I replied your lying my phone automatically records all conversation so that I don't forget important information pertaining to my business . I have your company on recording stating that the service department got the dates mixed up and my travel trailer won't be ready until next Wednesday and now your telling me Friday the 30.Your lying his response was that I need to talk to the manager in the morning .It would be nice if my salesman Steve would call and apologize for the confusion but nope not one apologize. Do not sign or complete ANY contract until you're 110% certain you are interested regardless of the "deal." My experience was they WILL indeed run your application after specifically requesting to wait and think about a purchase. I was notified by my credit alert notification plan from a different credit bureau. The application even showed I left a $100 deposit, so I requested the refund. I was informed by the finance manager the fine print at the bottom of the contract specifies that deposit is nonrefundable. (I did NOT even leave a deposit because after we talked and completed the app I decided to wait.) My salesperson was adamant that the end of the month sale was a great deal and they had a goal to make. I told him on 6/30/16 at 6:55 p.m. Per phone call I decided to wait on the purchase. I was informed this was ok and he would hold the app. VERY frustrating and complete untruth. They ran the credit report on 6/30/16. According to Equifax, the only way to remove a credit request is to have the requesting company remove it OR file a police report. On 7/11/16 After Des Moines RV was notified of the frustration with the credit app completed even AFTER being assured they would not. I was informed they would try to modify the credit hit And after that would I please remove my negative google review, per request of the company owner. Today is 7/13/16 and according to my phone call with Equifax, there has been no contact regarding a modification of the credit hit. Conveniently the Des Moines RV finance manager is out at the time I call. Go figure. Recommendation...run to the next Reputable RV sales option. read more

Went in this weekend for their "sale" and they had exactly what we had been looking for. The salesmen was nice, but not sure he was truly that knowledgeable. He kept running back and forth to his boss trying to get us a deal (we never asked him once to do this) At one point he came back and said I got my boss to throw in a 5th wheel hitch. That was great and we wanted to take the time to have lunch and talk it over before spending thousands of dollars. The salesmen went in to get his boss whom came out and introduced himself and then proceeded to say, "my salesmen lead me to believe this was a done deal if I threw in the hitch" Excuse me? You might want to have a "private" talk with your salesmen about that, not bales us. They completely low balled us on our trade in and said they didn't even need to see it before letting us know what it was worth. The next RV dealer offered us $4,000 more right off the bat. We purchased a 34fkds from De Moines RV and I am so sick and so stressed out over this issue that I would never recommend anyone purchase a camper from them because they DO NOT do what they say they will do. We drove 16 hours to pick up this unit and when we got there, there was several things wrong with it. Now it being a new unit and us being 16 hours from home we asked what we had to do to get it fixed and they told us just take it to our hometown dealership and they would be happy to fix it for us. They wrote down all the things that were wrong with it and said they would send it in to Jayco for us. When we returned home we went to our local jayco dealership they said De Moines didn't send anything into Jayco and they also told us that since we didn't purchase it from them they could not help us even though De Moines said they could. Please don't waste your time on purchasing from these people because all they want to do is lie to you. My husband and I decided to go to one of Des Moines RV shows in the mall in late January of 2015. We found a Jayco camper that we loved and decided to buy it. They said that the one that we looked at in the mall that day was already sold, but a brand new one was coming off the production line that day. I specifically said so it hasn't been walked thru by lots of people or sitting for a very long time. The sales person said nope it's brand new. We found out later it had been sitting on a lot in NY for about a year. When we went to pick it up in April the electric jack was broke and we had to wait while they repaired it. Then during the walk thru the guy showing us everything turned on the water and said huh the water pump sounds funny...it'll probably be fine. Well our 2nd trip out we noticed water coming out from under the cabinets, the water pump was leaking! Damaged our cabinets! Took it in, they looked at it tightened a fitting and took pics of the cabinets. Next week out with it, woke up in the morning to a huge puddle of water!!! Took it back in, they said oh your water pump is bad (really!!!). They replaced it but could not fix the cabinets until they have received approval from the warranty company. We are also waiting for approval for the outdoor light that was wired wrong. This was back in June. I called August 19th to see if we have approval yet, was told they would check and get back to me. Today is September 14th still haven't heard from them. I tried to call this morning could get anyone on the phone, so I left a message. Plus the water pump is leaking again, my husband got it to stop for now, but seriously!!! This is ridiculous!!! Also, when we signed the purchase agreement we bought GAPP insurance, about a month later the finance person called and said the payment was less than was on the original agreement. So she was sending out a new agreement for us to sign, but only the payment was changing nothing else. My husband was recently looking over the contract and noticed that the new agreement did not include GAPP insurance. He emailed the company about it and still has not herd back from them! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!! THIS HAS BEEN THE WORST MOST FRUSTRAING EXPERANCE EVER!!!!!!!!! read more
