This place is the absolute worst. They listed a settee on FB for 375.00. We negotiated for 300.00. I drove here from Norfolk to get it. They knew I was coming, and they sold it. Never reached out to me to let me know. They lied and said they called me but they didnt even have my number because this was done thru FB! Liars! Worst customer service ever. They said they don't hold items if you don't want to pay over the phone with CC. I never asked for a hold and they never told me that may trip may be in vain. Truly unbelievable. I am searching for a piece of furniture for my entryway and had recently starting following RVA Antiques on Instagram. They post available items almost daily and decided to see some pieces I had been eyeing in person. This space is much larger than I had anticipated and each booth contained gorgeous pieces! The space was clean, well organized and the employees are all so friendly. Unfortunately the buffet table I loved was too large for my space but I did find other pieces that I'm keeping my eye on. RVA Antiques is beside Lakeside Farmers Market and offers a great variety of vendor booths. You can spend about an hour looking around at the offerings. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. I saw a painting in the store and wasn't sure about it. I checked back with the store a month later and they still had it. I asked to purchase it over the phone. The customer service I received was 5 star!! Tina, is a delight, a treasure, and so very kind to deal with (and she's a charming!). Back to buy after a few years. Prices are OK, diverse and eclectic mixture. However many pieces of furniture with drawers have little aromatic inserts; what smells are they covering up? The second is one owner...having been back twice, all I get are glares, definitely did not feel welcomed by him, but the sales clerk was very good. read more

One of the best antique shops in RVA! Lots of booths, all with unique decor and furniture. I love the refurbished and painted furniture in the first booth when you walk in! Cool and shabby chic. There's a great jewelry booth near the front with amazing pieces, great prices. Many repurposed items, vintage pottery and glassware (I picked up some Harlequin dishes recently), quilted pillows, and nautical treasures. Many booths have handmade signs and home goods. The lamps are awesome and the prices are reasonable. The entire shop is beautifully designed, not at all junky, and easy to navigate. The owners are so helpful and sweet! This is a really nice store, and you can find some really good deals here. Items are thoughtfully displayed and priced. The only thing that bothers me is that their "upcycled" furniture tends to be painted rather than restored/refinished. That can give it a nice look, but I saw many pieces today that would've been so much more beautiful (versus trendy) had they been restored to their original glory--and probably more valuable, too. NEVER GOING THERE again. Will never shop there again! Owner( I think) had snotty attitude when I asked about things on approval. He looks down his nose , and says "WE don't work that way" . A large piece NO offer to help get it in car. I went back in and said, "just so you know I'm going through cancer treatments, my husband has knee surgery and it would be nice to have been offerred some help." Well, he sniffed "I gave you a discount." "buddy I replied, " it not about the money. It is about customer service and I will never be back." I really like RVA Antiques. I've been here twice now, and have left with a lighter wallet and fuller car both times :). Good selection of things, I love how much the vendors vary from one another. I got a BEAUTIFUL vanity cabinet for $50! They will hold items for you if you call. It's behind the CVS next to a Farmer's Market, and you could easily miss it if you're not paying attention. The store is made up of a group of different booths where people assemble to sell their antiques which provides a great selection of antiques. I am a super fan of finding the hidden gem in an antique store. And, one of my favorite spots in Richmond is nestled right in Lakeside. Are you looking for that one stellar piece to fill a blank spot in your home? Maybe a chair? Or, a unique piece of artwork? Possibly a piece for your kitchen? Look no further than RVA Antiques. Do not let Lakeside fool you, they have tons of great places to shop for a bargain, but only one store stands out for the amount of unique items to be found that are as charming as the staff that work there. These ladies are so kind and if you are looking for something a bit specific, they will help you look for it. They have such great relationships with their vendors, that if you do not see the item you are searching for, they have a list you can be added to so if that item becomes available, they will call you and let you know. And, if they know a particular seller specializes in finding that type of item (say, aviation themed?), they will give you their card to contact them directly so the next time they are out on the hunt, they can do the legwork to find it for you!! Each vendors prices are super fair and each booth does tend to have their own individual sale at any given time (say 15-20% off any item in their booth. And, if that was not enough, RVA Antiques just opened a SECOND location right off Patterson Ave and Libbie Ave, for more great deals and steals. So, TWO great locations for searches for those amazing items. And, if all this does not simply sell you, they have classes available for various things, like chalk-painting (which you can go in and purchase chalk paint for your next DIY project). We told him what we were in the market for and he helped us find a gorgeous dresser set. Not only that, but when I mentioned that I really was looking for something with a particular wood stain on the top, he offered to customize the pieces for us. THEN, he called me a few times over the next week to alert me anytime a nightstand set came in that he thought I might like that matched. I really enjoy RVA Antiques because there is good mix of old, new, repurposed, etc. A previous reviewer wrote that it is "not very big," but I have to disagree. There is quite a lot of space and lots to look at between the two sections. It is easy to miss this place since it is next to CVS, but it is definitely worth stopping in.
