Best Gym in Rockville Centre. I Highly Recommend! I've been a member at Sportset Health & Fitness…read moreClub for a year now. I also had my son's birthday party here last year and the staff was amazing with assisting me set up for his birthday, and entertaining them the whole time and it's hands down the best gym I've joined in the area. My son is also in multi sport with Joe Marve and he loves it. Joe is the best with kids he definitely can keep the group of kids entertained and listening which is hard as is in my opinion for 5 year olds. The facility is spacious, super clean, and well-maintained with equipment for cardio, weights, and everything in between. They have an amazing variety of group classes (yoga, cycling, kickboxing, barre!), a basketball court, and 1 on 1 personal training. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. They know members by name and always go out of their way to help. The Come Together Yoga studio is a huge bonus, and the overall vibe is motivating without being intimidating. The juice bar is perfect pre and post workout as well. Plenty of parking too, which is a big plus. If you're looking for a full service gym that feels like a community, Sportset is it. Worth every penny! Definitely check it out. They offer day passes.

I've been a member since 2011, and it's disappointing to see how far this gym has declined. Half…read morethe cardio machines are often out of service, and there hasn't been any meaningful investment in new strength or cardio equipment for years. Despite members repeatedly asking for upgrades, the gym continues to raise membership fees while spending money on things that many of us don't consider a priority. Dennison, the owner, seems unwilling to invest in the equipment that members actually use every day. Steve, the manager, has also been consistently rude and dismissive whenever I've interacted with him. Instead of listening to legitimate concerns about broken equipment and the condition of the gym, he comes across as arrogant and uninterested in addressing member feedback. Good customer service starts with treating members with respect, and that hasn't been my experience. The hours are another major issue. The gym closes far too early, especially on weekends, making it difficult for many members to use the facility. Overall, this gym feels neglected. Longtime members have remained loyal for years, but it's frustrating to watch membership prices increase while the equipment continues to age and basic maintenance is overlooked. I hope management starts listening to its members and invests in the gym instead of expecting people to pay more for less.

As someone who has strength trained for years, this kicks my ass in the best way. You will definitely burn calories and feel great after class. I've always hated the idea of classes and have NEVER been part of one because I like to workout solo (it's my therapy). That said, I am totally comfortable and focused during class and it doesn't bother me at all. It actually motivates you to keep up. All of the staff and coaches make you feel comfortable no matter your ability level. * Just have to say, I was present as the previous one star reviewer walked in and demanded the world stop to help her. This was my second class and I did something stupid when setting up my app so I purposely showed up super early to get help with that before class. So what were they to do? Tell me to eff off and jump to your assistance??? They explicitly tell you to come 30 minutes early because they need to do an orientation for your first class btw. This person was so rude to the staff that I just stepped away and told them don't worry I'll figure it out after class, so they could try and deal with that. They were beyond nice and apologetic to her as she responded with a nasty attitude, not understanding that there is an orientation that needs to be done FOR HER SAFETY. I know they will respond with a very professional apology on Yelp and welcome her back, which is a shame because she was so damn rude. Anyways very happy I joined, the workouts and staff are awesome.

Has it really been 2 years? It's hard to believe I've now been coming to this gym for that amount…read moreof time, and I have to admit that a lot can change in that period of time. Case and point? Prior to going to this gym, I went to another LA Fitness location that was brand spanking new. 2 years in? The place was a disaster (overcrowded, machines already in disrepair, etc). Fitness 19 is a breath of fresh air because 2 years in, this place is still in mint condition! I have to also praise the staff here. Some gyms can have unfriendly employees, but everyone at Fitness 19 is so pleasant to interact with. Although I don't attend the classes, my wife does, and she finds the instructors to be exceptionally friendly. I have another friend who enjoys working with his personal trainer, and I always find the folks at the main counter to be very welcoming. The equipment here is still in good shape 2 years later. There have been a few machines that have aged, but those machines have already been replaced or updated. They have also added new equipment, including kettle bells, thanks to some customer feedback, and there's always somebody walking around to keep the place clean. Of course, the other thing that helps is to have a courteous gym community, and I find the members generally keep this place in good shape (returning equipment after use to the proper place, wiping down equipment with wipes after use, etc). My main reason for the 4-star review instead of 5 stars is mostly because of the lack of bathroom amenities. What would really make this place a 5-star location would be to add cloth towels (I realize it's an added expense in time and labor to wash and replace those, though) or some other bathroom amenities. The place has lockers and showers, but otherwise it's pretty bare bones (soap + water + dryers). Still, for the low monthly cost of membership (the lowest I've ever seen), the value here is incredible. I love this gym!

Place needs better maintenance as bathrooms are always wreaking of urine especially the kids family bathroom. Why do we have a children's bathroom with no proper way for children to reach the sink located inside the toilet? Staff at the salon also has a bad attitude. But policies set by management or corporate at this facility basically guarantee this location is on same trajectory as the Dodo bird. Other than the above, terrible quality for a Life Time facility and significantly worse than any other Life Time in NYC and Westchester area. The bumper plates on the second floor look more or less like a dog chewed on them. If you are here to lift weights, just know that the equipment is worse than LA fitness, NYSC, etc. Again, other Life Times have been renovated 1-2x over the past 3 years, if they aren't brand new. This is literally the only one that is like this. The only renovation they did was to remove a basketball coirt to replace with Pickle ball. The squat racks are literally a danger to use if you squat on the second floor if you hit parallel or lower unless you go to the 3rd floor (which typically has classes running) And now that they replaced one basketball court with Pickleball courts, you basically cannot use the basketball court. Unavailable 60-70% of the time to use. Attaching a picture for the reader to judge for themselves. Camp is over? Birthday party. No birthday party? Then its a league game (this one was not as bothersome before as they had the second court and it was not typically the entire day). I understand the need to increase revenue but at this point, this location is milking their members for quality that is worsening with each passing day. The reason this gym also went downhill is because of the influx of those who were going to Syosset and changed because the quality was also going down. I would venture to say Syosset is now the better location. If you have time, checkout Life Time Harrison or Life Time Dumbo. Drastic difference in quality. I hope corporate management changes their tune but its more likely that this facility will continue to increase prices and let the place deteriorate until they close down. Its really a shame. The reason this

For a gym, cleanliness, working equipment, and proper staffing should be basic priorities, and unfortunately, this location falls short on both. The only bright spot is Stewart. Despite the overall condition of the gym, Stewart truly stands out. He provides excellent customer service, is always professional, and goes above and beyond for members, even while clearly being overworked. His attitude and dedication make a big difference and are the ONLY reasons I continue to show up. Stewart deserves recognition and support for the great job he does. He provides excellent customer service & genuinely tries to help, but it's clear he is overworked and carrying far more responsibility than one person should. Management should take note that Stewart is doing his best in a situation that needs serious improvement. Until staffing and cleanliness are addressed, I would not recommend this gym.

For the most part, everyone just kind of does their own thing which is good. Equipment looked a bit run down, rusty, kind of dirty, machine pads splitting and breaking apart. The gym itself is super messy, there are maybe 10 mismatched dumbbells on the rack at any given time because all of the equipment is just thrown all over the place - ex., one 30lb dumbbell here and the other is underneath a bench at the far end of the gym. The lighting gives you a Dollar Tree vibe - It's actually kind of sad and depressing. Locker rooms are a little crowded, maybe a bit less crowded during the day. Apparently this location will be going through a renovation period, so maybe it will be better when done. Overall experience? Wasn't terrible, I got my workout in, however, I think LA Fitness needs to hire better management and a better staff - a staff that will stay on top of certain issues and care about the overall gym goer experience. It seems like some of the complaints from years ago were never really addressed. A renovation would be nice but won't mean anything if you still have the same management and staff working there.
