I've been a member since 2011, and it's disappointing to see how far this gym has declined. Half…read morethe cardio machines are often out of service, and there hasn't been any meaningful investment in new strength or cardio equipment for years. Despite members repeatedly asking for upgrades, the gym continues to raise membership fees while spending money on things that many of us don't consider a priority. Dennison, the owner, seems unwilling to invest in the equipment that members actually use every day. Steve, the manager, has also been consistently rude and dismissive whenever I've interacted with him. Instead of listening to legitimate concerns about broken equipment and the condition of the gym, he comes across as arrogant and uninterested in addressing member feedback. Good customer service starts with treating members with respect, and that hasn't been my experience. The hours are another major issue. The gym closes far too early, especially on weekends, making it difficult for many members to use the facility. Overall, this gym feels neglected. Longtime members have remained loyal for years, but it's frustrating to watch membership prices increase while the equipment continues to age and basic maintenance is overlooked. I hope management starts listening to its members and invests in the gym instead of expecting people to pay more for less.

It's not a competitive setup, but you often find yourself being motivated to push through as you look at the splat points board. The coaches are also great at including modified versions of each workout for anyone who needs them and they happy to make adjustments to the routine for you if there's a health concern. Elite membership is currently offered at $119 and Unlimited is $179. They have specials depending on when you sign up. The OTF heart rate monitor was on sale when I signed up back in February. There are 2 options available in terms of style/wearing format. I'm working to attend more consistently but have already seen great results through the workouts and other lifestyle changes.

I started to receive emails in June stating I had to update my credit card on file as my account was in delinquency and I owed $.. they kept trying to bill an old card I had on file. I called Fitness 19 in July and they said "Sorry about that, you only owe $30 for April and then we can cancel your account. So I pay. In August I get a phone call from a lawyer on behalf of Fitness 19 trying to collect my money. I called and spoke to the manager who said sorry the $30 never went thru so pay again and then we'll cancel your account. This place is a scam.

But policies set by management or corporate at this facility basically guarantee this location is on same trajectory as the Dodo bird. Other than the above, terrible quality for a Life Time facility and significantly worse than any other Life Time in NYC and Westchester area. The bumper plates on the second floor look more or less like a dog chewed on them. If you are here to lift weights, just know that the equipment is worse than LA fitness, NYSC, etc. Again, other Life Times have been renovated 1-2x over the past 3 years, if they aren't brand new. This is literally the only one that is like this. The only renovation they did was to remove a basketball coirt to replace with Pickle ball. The squat racks are literally a danger to use if you squat on the second floor if you hit parallel or lower unless you go to the 3rd floor (which typically has classes running) And now that they replaced one basketball court with Pickleball courts, you basically cannot use the basketball court. Unavailable 60-70% of the time to use. Attaching a picture for the reader to judge for themselves. Camp is over? Birthday party. No birthday party? Then its a league game (this one was not as bothersome before as they had the second court and it was not typically the entire day). I understand the need to increase revenue but at this point, this location is milking their members for quality that is worsening with each passing day. The reason this gym also went downhill is because of the influx of those who were going to Syosset and changed because the quality was also going down. I would venture to say Syosset is now the better location. If you have time, checkout Life Time Harrison or Life Time Dumbo. Drastic difference in quality. I hope corporate management changes their tune but its more likely that this facility will continue to increase prices and let the place deteriorate until they close down. Its really a shame. The front desk was very friendly and allowed me to get a day pass to check out the gym and workout. The gym is absolutely gorgeous and huge! The workout rooms are spacious and organized. The locker rooms are clean and full of light. Members are very respectful and keep the machines clean. I love that they have a fitrition bar where you can grab a snack, protein shake or a meal after your workout. I tried their thicker than snicker protein shake and it was sooooo good. Tasted exactly like a snicker bar with a touch of banana. It was almost $8 for a small size which was pricey but kept me full for hours. The membership is a bit expensive, $60 a month but you could use all of their push locations which is convenient. Might consider joining.

His attitude and dedication make a big difference and are the ONLY reasons I continue to show up. Stewart deserves recognition and support for the great job he does. He provides excellent customer service & genuinely tries to help, but it's clear he is overworked and carrying far more responsibility than one person should. Management should take note that Stewart is doing his best in a situation that needs serious improvement. Until staffing and cleanliness are addressed, I would not recommend this gym.

It is disgraceful to see two different gym equipments being operated as if nothing is wrong with either equipment. Safety should always matter. One equipment has no seat cushion and two barbells was used in place of where the seat cushion should've been. I can't imagine how uncomfortable a workout may be for someone who may want to complete a workout while seated with longer repetitions. The second machine, someone put a barbell under the seat cushion of the lat pulldown machine, I guess for the purpose to level it or to make up for a missing part. La Fitness members pay MONTHLY dues and ANNUAL fees so there is NO reason why equipment should be out of order at any given time. Things happens all the time but the best way to rectify issues is to address them and get them fixed ASAP. This is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable to paying customers who come to work out with good quality equipment. LA Fitness, you have to do better!

Staff seemed nice, etiquette wasn't terrible, gym music was not at all overbearing…read more Interesting mix of gym goers (older, younger, college students, groups of broccolis at some machines), not a lot of "gym bros." For the most part, everyone just kind of does their own thing which is good. Equipment looked a bit run down, rusty, kind of dirty, machine pads splitting and breaking apart. The gym itself is super messy, there are maybe 10 mismatched dumbbells on the rack at any given time because all of the equipment is just thrown all over the place - ex., one 30lb dumbbell here and the other is underneath a bench at the far end of the gym. The lighting gives you a Dollar Tree vibe - It's actually kind of sad and depressing. Locker rooms are a little crowded, maybe a bit less crowded during the day. Apparently this location will be going through a renovation period, so maybe it will be better when done. Overall experience? Wasn't terrible, I got my workout in, however, I think LA Fitness needs to hire better management and a better staff - a staff that will stay on top of certain issues and care about the overall gym goer experience. It seems like some of the complaints from years ago were never really addressed. A renovation would be nice but won't mean anything if you still have the same management and staff working there.
