I was extremely nervous before this procedure. I had always heard that root canals are very painful, so I was anxious before arriving at the office. From beginning to end, this office was exceptional. Professional and friendly staff! I was first greeted and given a few forms to complete. Melissa then brought me back--she is AMAZING. She immediately helped me feel comfortable and calm, and talking with her really eased my nerves. She stayed with me the entire time, continuously checking on me throughout. When the doctor came in, he thoroughly explained the procedure. Melissa applied numbing cream, and then the doctor administered the anesthetic injections. I didn't feel the pinch at all--I was actually waiting for it and never did. During the procedure, I felt no pain whatsoever. I could hear and smell the drilling, but there was no discomfort. I kept my eyes closed the entire time and felt completely at ease. It's now been about four hours since the appointment. The numbness has mostly worn off, and I'm experiencing some sensitivity, which I was told is normal and can last a week or two. I've taken Tylenol and so far have only felt mild discomfort--not actual pain. If you're in need of a root canal, I highly recommend this office. read more

Dropped in for a visit on 07FEB2022 around 1230. Dr Shipp and his aide (I believe her name is Shawn) treated me really well. I've had a few root canals done while in military service and they've been really eventful and by that, I mean painful. Not with Dr Shipp. He gave me a decent amount of numbing agent and a few shots to keep that pain down. His bedside manner is excellent and his aide really complements the team really well. I am thankful that the VA referred me here. His office does a great service to the Veterans who have served our nation. Thank you all for a great experience. OUTSTANDING!!! Sadly, I've had 4 or 5 root canals in my life. All at different places, all were really good I'd say. But none even came close to the service and care that I experienced at Ryan Shipp, DMD with Dr Morris. I just wanna walk readers through my experience. I arrived and the office is very clean and well maintained from front to back. Everything just looks very nice, even the bathroom looked like it was thoughtfully designed. The whole place felt very welcoming, comfortable, and professional. After getting everything ready, Dr Mason walked in and explained the process. He gave me three numbing shots at 2 different points at the start of the procedure. He took his time, longer than any other endodontist, and explained that if it's done slowly and distributed more evenly, then it will work better. And it did! I felt nothing and was very at ease the entire time. So much so that I almost fell asleep I was so comfortable and confident in the work that was being done. Maybe it was the at ease feeling that I had, but I also felt like the rubber dental guard thing that was used was a better design and more comfortable than previous ones that I'd experienced. It just seemed like the best equipment was used, it seemed like the care for the patient and the patient's comfort was at the forefront of their work. I would NEVER recommend this office. After a brief visit where I was referred to an oral surgeon, I paid my bill in full. Several weeks later their incredibly incompetent and unprofessional staff called me and said that they had accidentally gave me a refund and that I need to pay again. Rather than admit their error for a minor office charge, they proceeded to hound and harass me for weeks and months with phone calls and texts and finally sent my bill to collections, spending more hours trying to collect on their error than figuring out their own billing procedures. I was having significant pain in a tooth so I saw my dentist, Dr Thompson. He quickly referred me to Shipp Endodontics to be evaluated for a possible root canal. He was able to squeeze me in and performed the root canal right away. I've had many root canals in the past but this was by far the smoothest root canal Ive ever experienced. I did not need any pain medication whatsoever and woke up the next day feeling so much better! The team members in the office made me feel like I was with my own family. I was hospitalized after a root canal and even after I called to talk with Dr. Shipp he never once returned my calls and had everyone in his office call me with reasons why I was hospitalized. Buyer beware! They will quote you one price, the send you a massive bill after you've paid in advance. I went it for just a consultation and paid their $130 consultation fee upfront. A couple weeks later, I get another bill for $110!!! That's $240 dollars for consultation. No service rendered. When I complained they said sorry, pay or you go to collections. Go elsewhere. Dr. Shipp's staff had me sign paperwork under false pretenses. I was told that they had received a confirmation code and a faxed authorization from my insurance company. My insurance company informed me that they never received a request from Dr. Shipp's office for a confirmation code. In fact, they submitted the claim after the date of the procedure. This refutes everything I was told by Dr. Shipp's staff. I would never have consented to the procedures knowing that he was an out-of-network provider. When I called the billing department, they refused to allow me to speak with the doctor and turned down my attempts to settle the bill. I was sent to collections. Dr. Shipp's office provided the collection agency with carefully worded notes to cover their tracks. In other words, THEY LIED. Do not be swindled as I was. Their business methods are fraudulent and misleading. read more

Dr.Shipp and his staff are just so great. I can't even begin to put into words how they made me feel even through the complication after my surgery (no fault of Dr.Shipp). I went and had a root canal done yesterday and the staff and the office is amazing and super nice and comforting. It did not hurt one bit and it went by so fast that I even fell asleep for a few moments. So I would recommend this office to anyone who needs a root canal. A couple weeks ago I had an appointment for a root canal. I have had one in the past at a different dental office and let me just say that Dr. Ryan is infinitely better than any other general dentist you could go to for endodontic care (because he's a specialist). Throughout the entire procedure they made sure I was comfortable and not in any pain. His assistant, Kenzie (I hope that is her name) even called the next day to make sure I was feeling well and not in any discomfort. Seriously the BEST place ive ever been to have my teeth worked on!!! The staff went above and beyond to help me and make me comfortable! i was even in a rush to get a root canal done because at the end of July i wont have insurance { Thanks corona virus} They did the procedure that day AND they even offered to call my dentist to make sure that i could get in to them for the crown b4 my insurance was gone!!!! The condition of my teeth in embarrassing due to the fact I'm very apprehensive in a chair that has a drill attached to it. But this team made my 40 minutes of hell in that chair much easier than I imagined. They were extremely attentive and professional (Dr. Shipp doesn't just jam a needle in the skin and squirt novocaine everywhere, he treats the application of it like an art) and the entire staff cares and puts pride in their work. I'm going back so they can fix my other problems. First off, I am terrified to be in a dentist chair. I cry just making the appointment. However, the wonderful receptionist took that in stride and assured me I'd be fine and they'd get me thru my root canal. Dr Shipp is the kindest most gentle dentist EVER. I got thru a root canal without Valium, being knocked out, anything! First time that's ever happened. He's a dental wizard. I have no clue how he fixed me up without the tears. Today I had a root canal procedure that had to go through a bridge. I was very impressed with Dr. Shipp. I have had poor experiences in the past during gum surgery and root canals. Sometimes I felt sharp pain when nerves were touched. I told him I was nervous and he listened and addressed all of my concerns and questions. I asked him to give me a lot of novocaine and following that, I felt no pain. Dr. Shipp is very professional and kind. His assistant was wonderful and kept making sure I was fine. So, I wouldn't normally write a review about a dentist, but in my opinion, Dr. Ryan Shipp is probably as good as it gets if you need a dreaded root canal done. Saw my regular dentist yesterday, (Dr. Jeffery Hadley, who is also a 5 Star dentist) and found out I needed a root canal done. Called Dr. Shipp's office from Dr. Hadley's office and had an appointment set within less than 24 hours. The office is kind of in an odd location at the back side of the Renaissance Office Complex at Eastern and Tropicana, but there is plenty of parking and the office was clean and the staff was super friendly. Dr. Shipp did an exam and confirmed I had an abscess and within 10 minutes of confirming the need for a root canal he started the work. The numbing shot of Novocaine was done exceptionally well. He was very gentle in the work and professional and friendly. Again, wouldn't normally recommend an Endodontist, since who needs a root canal done on a regular basis? But if you do need the work done, I can highly recommend Dr. Shipp's practise. read more

I had to get my first root canal and was so nervous after hearing how painful they are. I woke that morning with clammy hands all day. I went to Dr. Shipp and he was awesome! I was numbed up first and they tested my tooth with a cold swab, and felt nothing. After, he began the drilling he said anytime I feel anything let him know. Half way through I felt a jolt in my tooth and he immediately stopped and put some more numbing medicine in my tooth and waiting for it to kick in. After that, I didn't experience any pain. The whole process took about 45 min from the time I sat in the chair to the time I was out the door. The office is super clean and the staff is so friendly and calming. I am recommending everyone I know to Dr. Shipp's office. read more
