I was told she will not perform reconstruction on preventative double mastectomy patients, only patients who currently have breast cancer. This seems very strange to me. A doctor who won't use her skills to help people who make the brave decision to do whatever they can to never get breast cancer. Does she do breast augmentation for patients who don't have breast cancer? It would make sense if she was only doing surgeries on cancer patients, but according to her website she does every cosmetic surgery.

My electrolytes were so mismanaged I ended up in ICU. A social worker tried to bribe me to have a counselor visit me I said it wasn't necessary she sent her in anyway. Discharge transition was horrible one problem after another. My last visit with my Gynoc in the office was the most painful pelvic I've ever had apparently he knew I wasn't going to stay at his practice or cancer facility.

I am glad to have them both on my care team.The office does get busy but I have gotten follow-up calls and messages in a timely manner. After meeting Dr Schvindler, I knew this was the place. For me, I didn't want some sterile Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, I wanted a compassionate, warm place and a doctor who helps Vets, teaches, and specializes on face. So after a few months the day finally arrived! I had a 6am appointment and nervous, no idea how much pain I'll be in afterward, and thought about backing out. But I press forward, comforted by the amazing anesthesiologist whom made me laugh and stayed with me the whole time. After getting on the table, I fell asleep without even noticing I was about to and woke up basically on my way home. My wife putting me to bed I didn't feel tired and in fact felt energetic. The most profound thing is that I didn't even take the strong pain killers at any time afterwards. I felt no pain at any stage ever. Sure the first day is like a really bad cold, and you are super stuffy but each day gets better and in a week you are back to normal. After the first day the gel in your nose disintegrates. Nothing else goes in there. So a month later writing this, yes it will take a while for swelling subside but an amazing experience. I am so thankful for Dr S. I did a lot of research on doctors and Melissa at the front actually recommended Dr Joe because my ears were pretty hard to fix, and she said he is the absolute best... What I really appreciate about Dr Joe is his realistic expectations and walking me though different options. The tip of my nose and the little hump were my main concern, but I really wanted to fix my ears since I would be under anyway. Let me tell you- these results surpassed my expectations and i cannot thank Dr Joe AND Melissa enough for helping me feel beautiful and secure with myself. 10/10 recommend. The recovery was actually not as bad as i had hyped it to be either, having the nurses be available by text was so nice and greatly appreciated. Side note- the office is great, from the front desk, the financing, doctors and nurses. This was also the first time that i didn't wake up sick from anesthesia.

Nonetheless on my first visit they actually told me someone would call for pickup with the 20 minutes I noted on the form. But when they did call I was reprimanded for being more than 10 minutes away. OMG!! So even though the policy sucks, not everyone is looped in. Lame. Figure it out, and figure out how to provide a decent level of service

The negatives: I was billed an amount when I checked in that was significantly higher than what my copay ended up being according to my insurance company. I contacted FHSC multiple times about this and finally got my refund after 6 months! My surgery was delayed by hours and the staff never told me that it was delayed. Patients are in areas divided by curtains for the pre and post-op portions of their visit. This means there is a lack of privacy. I could unfortunately hear the conversations about the surgery of the person in the space next to mine. I did not want to hear that and was quite sad for them.

We were diagosed with breast cancer and am now a 3 year survivor thanks to the angels at Swedish Cancer Institute. Dr. Kristine Rinn was and is our top oncologist, Dr. Morris our Radiation oncologist helped us through the cancer diagnosis. The fine people in the radiation ward, always had cheerful greeting to us, and the nurses in the chemotherapy ward was kind and gentle too. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Rinn she was fantastic. We felt taken care of and I knew we were in good hands, it is tough enough with everything cancer brings, but thank goodness we found what we needed at Swedish!
