Before I get into my actual review, I implore you to find another mortgage company, or branch at a minimum if you are hard over on using Sierra Pacific, to fulfill your lending needs. Now, to be completely fair, I've never had a problem with those originating the loans at this branch. Furthermore, I've had many successful transactions with the company and this specific branch and have been nothing short of satisfied until a few months ago. For all of these transactions, the originator or assistant was my focal point for all questions up until funding and did the bulk of the processing of the loan themselves. At some point between my last successful transaction and the recent failures, the branch restructured its processes sending all loans through a central processing department. Once the originators started the process, I was directed to work with a specific processor, who will not be named here, for all questions pertaining to my loans. She would also be the one that would be getting my file through underwriting and working with me to fulfill any outstanding UW conditions. I had multiple pretty basic refinances that were being brokered out, and only had a stronger borrower financial position since Sierra Pacific did my previous loan, so this was all set up to be a very smooth transaction. My refinances were initiated in the June/July timeframe of 2016, and it wasn't until late 2016 that I was forced to cancel one of the loans and early 2017 that the others were cancelled. Now I'm sure that the lending bank had something to do with this, but what the failures came down to were ultimately an incredibly inefficient processing department at Sierra Pacific. Once I initially recognized that progress appeared to be slower than what I was accustomed to, I began reaching out to the processor via phone and email. The majority of my emails weren't responded to and I almost never received call backs. As a matter of fact, out of the plethora of phone calls I made requesting to speak with my processor, she was never once available, but I was always assured I'd receive a call back. My calls were returned exactly twice over the course of about six months, and emails weren't much better. When I eventually informed the branch manager about this, he was of very little assistance and informed me that he was unable to "hold the hands" of his his employees when they're unable to get their job done for whatever reason. Clearly, this toxic behavior infiltrated its way through the branch from the top down, and in the end the customer paid the ultimate price. I was completely disregarded by my processor and when I eventually elevated it to the branch manager, it was reinforced how unimportant I was to them. I expected better, especially as a customer that had all of my current loans financed by SP at the time, all of which were in processing for refinanced by SP, and had referred many qualified borrowers to SP over the years that successfully received loans. None of that mattered, and In the end all of my loans fell through due to exorbitant lock extensions that had been incurred over the previous half-year, and I'm left with a very sour taste in my mouth about the whole situation. Sierra Pacific did reimburse my appraisal costs and other direct expenses incurred associated with my refis, acknowledging some responsibility for my loans falling through, but I lost out on the long term benefit of an improved interest rate. While I'm satisfied with Sierra Pacific's diligence in reimbursing these costs and the resolution, I will NEVER send anybody else to the Palmdale branch of Sierra Pacific and advise that you consider one of the myriad of other lending options before you choose Sierra Pacific as your mortgage provider. read more

My experience with this company was going great. The first time I called I spoke to Ryan and if your a first time caller he picks up gets to know your situation also spends time to listen. So I thought Ryan was great right! Well not so much! He passed me on to someone named Jacob who was nice and helpful but the communication was off as I always had to call and my assumption with that is he seems overworked. So I was guided to raise my credit score which I did everything I was asked in a timely manner but again there was no communication I would have to keep calling to find out what the statues was and then would be told by Jacob that Ryan was supposed to give me a call but never did! This is just a brief experience I had and I would not recommend them to anyone I know not will I go back... as of a month later I still have not record a follow up phone call to see where things are and to top it all off my husband is prior military and yes we did tell them we were using a VA loan! I'm sure all the good reviews are only good because they have the ability to erase the bad ones as I've heard... take your chance if you must and hope your experience was better than mine! read more

Ryan and his team lack in communication among each other. Paperwork sent and then 10 plus days another person team ask for the same paperwork. That happened twice. Escrow should be 45 days and way over that now. I wouldn't recommend them at all. read more

The worst mortgage broker company ever - I would have given a negative star if it is a choice. The loan processor was a nightmare to work with. I had plenty experience in closing house loans. This loan was a very simple, no issue conventional loan and was expected to close in 30-35 days. After 50 days (the house purchase contract is only 45 days), the loan processor claimed that she did not get to start the loan processing until 2 weeks after the house purchase contract was signed (?!). Despite the fact that I told her how delayed the loan processing had been, she continued to show disregard of the loan closing deadline or any timelines she had promised on loan processing. There were many days that she just disappered and was not responsive all day when certain progress should have been made that day based on her earlier promises. If she did respond, it would be at the very end of that day (around 5 pm) when she sent an email with almost always the same claim: being in meetings all day (therefore not at all able to work on loans such as following up with the lender bank to move the loan forward as she promised, or responding to us). Another claim she had once for not responding all day either to a lender bank's email we were all waiting or our inquires, was that she did not see the bank's email because it was sent to her email' spam folder. Because it was always at the end of the day, whatever needed to happen/to be done that day got to pushed again to the next day. Whenever this happened, she always acted as if she had complete amnesia about her promises and never apologized for not fulfilling her promise for that day. When it was about 60 days and finally got to the closing stage after numerous delays, she promised that if the buyer could received the loan doc from the lender bank and signed the loan doc Wednesday, the bank would fund Thursday and close Friday. We and the title company did everything we could to have the buyer signed the loan doc on Wednesday and sent the signed doc to the lender bank by rush overnight delivery. The delivery to the lender bank early Thursday morning was confirmed and she was made aware of it. Again, she did nothing all day and ignored our phone calls or email inquiries about the bank funding/closing until the very end of the day. Again she claimed in her email that she was tied up in meetings all day and she was going to call the bank right then. And again, there was no mentioning in her email about her promise of lender bank funding that day/closing Friday. She shortly sent an email stating in a matter of fact way that she just talked to the lender bank and the bank would review the signed doc Friday and possibly fund Friday if no problem with the final review (closing next Monday instead of Friday). A few weeks prior, when we had numerous delays of the loan processing, claimed by the loan processor, due to the lender bank's various demands; she told us that the lender bank was otherwise very easy/quick to fund/close after the loan was approved. Thus, I was surprised and also concerned why the lender bank would sit on the signed loan doc all day Thursday and did nothing to proceed to funding, as the loan processor stated previously that the bank was always very quick to do that. I called the loan processor and would like to find out more details. She apparently did not want to answer my call and had another person put me on hold for a very long time. She sounded very annoyed and resentful about my persistence on talking to her when she finally picked up the phone around 6 pm. Rather than apologizing for not following ip with the bank all day to make sure that the bank move forward on her promised funding that day/closing Friday, she talked very fast and almost immediately yelled at me "It is the end of the day! What do you want me to do?!" I told her to stop yelling at me so that I could talk. She abruptly hung up the phone without me being able to ask her anything at all! I was absolutely shocked and outraged about what she just did. I decided to send her an email describing what happened and told her that I would report her behavior to her employer. She emailed me back, again did not apologize for anything, but blamed me for her hanging up phone on me because I was yelling at her! This is about as unprofessional and rude as possible. I changed my mind to talk to her employer after I read the very similar bad review about this company - so what happened to me was not an isolated incidence. I decided to just write a review detailing what happened to me interacting with this company. We lost thousands of dollars for PITI because of the delay. Stay away from this company, you could risk losing thousands of dollars as a home seller, or a home buyer if home purchasing contract gets cancelled due to loan closing delay. read more

I cannot say enough great things about Ryan! He is incredibly smart, friendly, patient, and trustworthy. He is ethical and kind, which can be rare in this field! Despite the Seller forcing us to switch lenders at the last minute due to an appraisal and multiple appraisal reviews that came in too low for the seller's liking, Ryan still continued to follow-up with us and ensure that we were being offered a fair deal with the new lender. Ryan had nothing to gain but our respect and appreciation by continuing to assist my fiancé and I, as we are new homebuyers who had lots of questions. He continued to work with us and give us feedback on loan estimates from the new lender, which is amazing customer service. He did not have to do that, but we were so grateful that he did. With his support, it made an almost 90 day escrow feel less overwhelming and stressful. From the beginning, Ryan took the time to explain every step of the process and was regularly available to connect with us via phone calls, text messages, and emails. Honestly, Ryan really supported us throughout this entire process and gave us peace of mind by being patient with us and answering all of our questions with knowledgeable responses.
