Hood Dental Care -- 5 Stars…read more After a bad fall left my front teeth cracked and damaged -- with a job interview two days away -- I called several dental offices and hit dead ends. Then I called Hood Dental. Lauren answered, and even though she couldn't get me in that afternoon, she rearranged the schedule to have me seen first thing Monday at 8 AM. She took my information over the phone and sent a text link to complete my paperwork in advance, so there was virtually no wait when I arrived. Evelyn and Dr. Sarah took over from there. They were patient, skilled, and even kept things light with a good sense of humor during what was a stressful situation. After about three hours, I walked out with a tooth extraction and a temporary bridge -- looking completely presentable for my interview the next day. You would never have known what my smile looked like just days before. The care, the responsiveness, and the genuine effort from Lauren, Evelyn, and Dr. Sarah made all the difference. I even received a compliment on my smile the next day. I was also told I needed to comeback back every 3 months for cleanings or I was going to end up losing teeth. I have never had any issues with my gums and regularly go to the dentist every 6 months for my entire life. This was red flag number one. After waiting in the chair for 20 minutes, someone came in and told me the hygienist was booked today and I would have to come back later in the day or on a different day ever though I had an appointment scheduled at this time. This was the second red flag. I rebooked an appointment for another day and when I showed up at the correct time, I was told my appointment was cancelled and they did not know why. I got no notification and was told I had to rebook for another day. This was the third bad experience I had had from one appointment. I decided that this felt was too scammy and not like a serious dental office, so I never went back. I then heard one of my close friends had the same experience where they were told they had gum disease and would not clean their teeth until they paid for a certain procedure. The Dr came in and gave what my friend described as "a timeshare presentation" about how they can save money by paying $120 a month for 12 months to get the procedure done. My friend instantly knew the vibes were off and got out of there as fast as possible. I then looked at the reviews for this place and it seems to be a running theme of everyone who goes here having gun disease. This place makes their money off of lying to you and telling you you have gum disease or are at extreme risk of it so that you end up paying hundreds to dollars. BEWARE!!!
