The play structure is built wide enough that parents can follow their kids around/look for them without bothering other kids/parents. The have lots of seating areas/benches/tables. They even have the playground split in two parts, one for the bigger kids and one for the little ones (2-5yrs). Also, instead of sand on the ground to break kids falls, they have soft rubber padding which stays much cleaner than sand. Theres even a nice grassy area for picnics. Cons- None

They even have a new official lacrosse field, I think, at the far southeast end. I saw them practicing but didn't walk over there to verify it. It's an oddly laid out, meandering park due to various additions over the decades, and much of it is hidden from the road. Frequented by locals, it can get busy, but the kids love all the other kids to play with. I just wish they had more full grown trees in the newer areas for us parents to relax under..maybe a cork tree for when I feel like smelling the flowers like Ferdinand.

There were ducks galore to feed! My son loved it. At the beginning they were excited to feed and very active in chasing the food, near the end of our time though, they got much more bold and were kind of chasing us which was a little unpleasant. You are only supposed to feed the duck food to the ducks! At the gift shop you can return the empty bags for recycling. The geese were also a bit terrifying, partly because they did have some like teenager geese that they were protective over, we got hissed at a few times. But they were also like wanting duck food so that was interesting. There were more animals than I expected to see, most of which were bird species. We saw eagles, coyotes, a badger, a raccoon, vulture, a fox, cranes, and some other cute deer resembling creatures. The petting zoo is an interesting feature, a few goats, the lambs were cute. But they were eating so we didn't have a lot of interaction time with them. They kind of seemed scared of us a little which made me sad. We also got to see and pet one of the bunnies which was nice for a minute. The zoo is big enough for a toddler to enjoy, but not too big it's overwhelming. It was a super hot day when we went, but there are quite a few shady spots which could help on a less heated day. The gift shop is the same as the entry building and it's cute and small, but fun to check out. If you don't take a stroller, then it's easily avoidable if you don't want to check it out. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked with soap and the necessities. I would be happy to stop by again sometime.
