Yes I can see it having hot surfaces on really sunny days, but there are also places in park that are shaded for kids (tire swing under play platform, the shuttle kids can climb, lemonade stand...). The story behind the park is so amazing. The one thing I've noticed since going is one of slides is missing the ending piece so it kind of drops off. This park has loads of amenities:…read moretwo playgrounds with slides and swings, a small climbing wall, basketball and tennis court, two pavilions, a fire pit, jogging path, multiple bathrooms, plenty of picnic tables, two or three sand volleyball courts and lots of open space for soccer, football, frisbee, yoga or three-legged racing. They even have a new official lacrosse field, I think, at the far southeast end. I saw them practicing but didn't walk over there to verify it. It's an oddly laid out, meandering park due to various additions over the decades, and much of it is hidden from the road. Frequented by locals, it can get busy, but the kids love all the other kids to play with. I just wish they had more full grown trees in the newer areas for us parents to relax under..maybe a cork tree for when I feel like smelling the flowers like Ferdinand.

This review is for the playground…read more Pros- Best playground in Logan, period. They have lots of swings both of big kids and little ones. The play structure is built wide enough that parents can follow their kids around/look for them without bothering other kids/parents. The have lots of seating areas/benches/tables. They even have the playground split in two parts, one for the bigger kids and one for the little ones (2-5yrs). Also, instead of sand on the ground to break kids falls, they have soft rubber padding which stays much cleaner than sand. Theres even a nice grassy area for picnics. Cons- None

It used to get fished a lot, but I don't see that as much these days. Fisherman do come more in the mornings. They took out many of the shade trees which was a mistake. They really should have rerouted the roads and expanded this park long ago..bring back the volleyball, add a nice pavilion, bring in loads of sand and expand it to a proper beach. Hiked this trail in August. Unclear signage. Park in the Spring Hollow Campground parking area near…read morethe road. After you walk to the top of the paved area, you will see a trailhead sign. This great trail rises through a cool forest along a stream with a moderate slope. The rest of the trail is fairly flat and open, at about 7000 feet elevation, and with some noise coming up from the main road. Many grasshoppers on the dry parts of the trail!
