A nice lady Jaime connected me to the service Manager Myron. From the start, he was very helpful and quoted me a reasonable price. After my boat was taken to the Fort Myers Marine, within a few hours, I received a call from Manager Myron, informing me that my boat did not require a major repair service, which I thought I needed. I was impressed with his honesty. He recommended other minor repairs for the boat. He gave me the best price possible for various repairs and services. My boat was quickly fixed and within a day, I was back on the water. While I was testing my new Jack Plate, I was having some electrical issues. Whenever I called him, which was several times, he was always kind, caring, and extremely knowledgeable. With his proper guidance, I was able to fix all the minor issues. He was so helpful. Wherever I called the office staff, they were all friendly and made me feel I was never a bother. Very sloppy workmanship. Installed a chartplotter for me but didn't put the wiring cover back on…read morethe back of the console and put a speaker back in it's cutout but didn't put the screws back in so that it was just hanging there by gravity. Next time I used the chartplotter was the next season and upon hooking it back up it didn't work, so I called them back explaining how sloppy the installation was and that now it didn't work and that I had noticed some wiring looked bad. They sent someone over to fix it but they blamed me for the problem and charged me full price even though they were fixing their own chowderhead's mistakes.

He checked the cables, pulls, motors, gem box, etc. Scott was knowledgeable, personal and friendly. The following Monday Scott installed the motors and gem box. Well, the accent line must not have been primed correctly as it has already shown through the black with only about 30 miles of cruising and one bottom cleaning. We had also wanted an outside rail reattached in a couple of spots. We were told that they would have to take the inside salon walls off to complete that - needless to say we declined it and fixed it ourselves when we got back to home port with some heavy duty anchors and screws. We also wanted a little fiberglass work done on a vent housing. They're fiberglass guy was very unenthusiastic and quoted us $3000. Again, we declined the service. The prices the quality of work but mostly the excellent communication and follow up by Sherry and the staff at Gulf Marine. After all of the work was completed on our boat they graciously let us drive our 44 foot 5th wheel close to their docks so we could move onto the boat. Then all of the staff including the 70 year old GM in 100 degree heat started moving our boxes and bags of home goods onto the boat and we didn't even ask! I don't know if we could have done it in a day with out them but it was truly amazing and incredibly kind of the Gulf Marine team. Dishonest, rude, condescending dealership. Recently I had a…read morenon start issue with my boat that I purchased at Fishtale. I took my boat there thinking I could trust them. BIG MISTAKE. They gave me a written estimate for over $10,000 in parts plus labor. Are these people serious, or were they trained by Richard "I am not a crook" Nixon. They were condescending, rude, and pushy. They told me that the engine (with only 107 hours on it) was not worth saving and I should just have them put a new one on for $20,000 plus. I have never been treated as poorly as the Fishtale employees I met with. Dejected, I went to another dealership, Pier 41 Marine, where I was treated with respect, and honesty. Pier 41 quickly repaired the engine for a small fraction of what Fishtale was asking, and also informed me that the trim motor which Fishtale reported as leaking was in fact NOT LEAKING. If I could give Fishtale less than a one star review, I certainly would. They deserve a NEGATIVE TEN. These people would not know what honesty is if they fell over it. Incidentally, the tech who worked on my boat stole my gas filter wrench, at first he denied it, but when I insisted that we look in his tool bag, guess what? It was sitting there. He replied "oh, I must have accidentally put it in there?" It is not enough that the dealership rips you off, the Fishtale tech also tried helping himself to one of my tools, hoping I wouldn't notice. As Cher so famously said, "gypsies, tramps and thieves".

I checker back a few days later and they said they were waiting for parts, OK, I checked the following week, and they said still waiting for parts. On Wednesday the 20th of May they said they were just waiting to take it out and check out the work and I came by to pick it up on the 21 Of May. I got to talk with the mechanic who said it seems OK. They only changed the spark plugs and adjusted the carburetors, nothing else. They had it for a week and a half and that's all they did. What parts were they waiting for? I believe they forgot about me and only did something when I checked on my boat. Not complaining about the cost, just the lack of work they didn't do. Now I will have to take it someplace else to have work done that I wanted done.
